Once, when I was talking with my spiritual director, I had an interior vision–quicker than lightning_----of his soul in great suffering, in such agony that God touches very few souls with such fire. The suffering arises from this work. There will come a time when this work, which God is demanding so very much, will be as though utterly undone. And then God will act with great power, which will give evidence of its authenticity. It will be a new splendor for the Church, although it has been dormant in it from long ago. That God is infinitely merciful, no one can deny. He desires everyone to know this before He comes again as Judge.

In short, Akita (Japan) is an apparition in Akita Japan which has been approved. The last vision from that apparition occurred 46 years ago. The visionary, Sr. Agnes Sasagawa, reported a new apparition of Mary on Oct. 6. The message of this new apparition is apocalyptic. It says to cover ourselves with ashes (Jonah 3:1-10) and to pray the Penitential Rosary. Jonah walked through Nineveh (modern-day Mosul) and proclaimed that in 40 days Nineveh would be destroyed. The people of Nineveh repented, and as G_D is merciful, He withheld the destruction.

The original post has been updated to note that a week after this alleged new apparition (on Oct. 13), Typhoon Hagibis hit Japan, it was the anniversary of the Miracle of the Sun at Fatima, and it was the 46th anniversary of the last message of the original Akita apparitions. In addition, whereas Nineveh was given 40 days to repent, the 40th day after this new alleged apparition is Nov. 15. Read the update at the bottom for the Gospel reading for that day.

Just for clarity: I am mentioning this because the original Akita apparitions HAVE BEEN approved; there are no explicit consequences mentioned; nor are there any explicit dates set. These are speculations, as noted in the title of this thread. If nothing else, the requests to perform penance (ashes) and praying the Rosary in reparation for our sins are requests that are echoed in many, many other apparitions.

And it is very possible that IF something DOES happen, it might very well happen without anyone noticing. I mean something like, a random spark starts a small fire that might get only local coverage that night, and yet a week later the rest of the country learns of this huge fire that’s decimating central California. Or, astronomers note multiple large columns of dust arising from the surface of Mars, and 18 months later London and Paris are in flames from the Martian invaders.

You mean like an avalanche, domino effect or chain reaction? There might not be one big kaboom but rather a reaction that is set off by the slightest touch?
Then again, maybe it’ll be a big kaboom.

I mean because the American Civil War might have been ended in 1863 because of 3 cigars.

Long story short: in September of 1862 an Indiana unit camped in a field that two nights before had been the camp of the Confederates army. One of the soldiers came across an envelope that had three cigars in it, wrapped in a paper. That paper happened to be a copy of the battle plans Lee was going to use at Antietam. It was passed up the chain of command where one of the adjutants to General McClellan recognized some of the handwriting as belonging to a former classmate at West Point. It was real.

Had McClellan acted promptly, he might have cut Lee’s forces to shreds and forced a Confederate surrender by the end of winter 1863. But McClellan was the sort never to pass up an opportunity to pass up an opportunity. He dithered, and that allowed Lee to move his troops around so that the intel was now useless.

American history could have been rewritten, because someone was sloppy and used BATTLE ORDERS to protect his precious cigars, which he promptly lost anyway. History is full of events like that, which is why I like studying it.

We cannot know “the day or the hour”, but we CAN know “the time and the season”. Luke 12:54-56 says:

Remember that the priests and the Levites saw all the same things happening when Jesus was born, yet they refused to interpret the present time, instead leaving it to a group of gentiles to point out the signs.

Besides, when things start happening, it will be up to us to explain to the Protestants that their interpretation of “rapture” is incorrect, and to the unwilling crowd that no, this is not something from the “Ascended Masters”; that is a teaching from the Evil One and here is how we Catholics have been preparing for it.

I think I’ve found the spark that happened on Friday Nov. 15. In California, the group that exposed Planned Parenthood’s sale of baby body parts from abortions was found guilty of trespassing and was fined a little over $800,000. The trespassing was where the group gained entrance to these conferences and posed as buyers of parts for medical research. This was the civil trial; the criminal trial is still going on.

The spark is that the judge served on a board that had provided financing and support to PP, yet he didn’t see that as significant enough to recuse himself. A bigger spark: when the judge was instructing the jury, he told them to disregard the innocence or guilt of the defendants, BECAUSE HE HAD ALREADY DECIDED THEY WERE GUILTY. The jury was just to determine the penalty.

I thought the whole reason for a jury trial was to have your peers determine if you were innocent or guilty. Yes, you can waive your right to a jury trial and have the judge hear the testimony and decide, but this wasn’t that kind of trial. The judge also refused to allow videos made by the group while “trespassing” that captured PP execs admitting to illegal activities to be shown to the jury, as they were “irrelevant”.

In looking around the world today, the common theme in the protests and violence is corruption. People are protesting the corruption of government officials which is leading to the unemployment and poverty of the people. Corruption. It is possible that this trial and the actions of that judge might lead to protests against a corrupt judiciary. It was just such belief in corruption of the judiciary that was one of the sparks for the American Revolution – that the British judiciary was stacked against American defendants. If faith in a fair judiciary should fall in America, then we, too, will be like Peru, and Iran, and all the other places in the world where people are rioting and protesting.

I very recently watched a 2019 documentary on homelessness in the USA. The number of homeless is actually much higher than publicized government statistics. That truth is very impossible to hide these days. You know? I don’t expect much good will come from our current situation that is producing so much poverty and sense of hopelessness.

St. Ambrose, in his commentaries on the letter to the Thessalonians, says that he will be circumcised. Sulpicius Severus, in book II of his Dialogues, says that he will compel all his subjects to submit to circumcision.
