END TIMES

Aren’t Protestants who are involved in, “End Times” and ”End Time” predictions, technically – Fortune Tellers?

Are they not the forbidden Soothsayers?

Aren’t they the forbidden "False Prophets?

Doesn’t this fall under a form of witchcraft?

I can’t believe I’m falling for this, but…

I think it depends on your definition of “predictions”. Are we talking setting dates or are we talking about chronological clues from the prophets that we try to piece together that are time oriented?

Daniel, Ezekiel, Isaiah and the book of Revelation give chronological clues in their books about the end times, not to mention the books of Peter, Thessalonians, etc. This will happen first, then this and so on. Eschatology is a valid study that is done by both Catholics and Protestants. I guess I need more information on where you are going with this.

Since Christ taught that no one except the Father knows, I think those that put a specific timetable on the end might need to reconsider their words. Otherwise, to speak of a prophesy that has not come to pass I believe is not soothsaying. For example, we all expect the second coming of Christ and speak about it. Do you consider that to be soothsaying?

I see no witchcraft involved here.

I rememebr a guy who “proved though the bible” that Christ was going to come in 1996. I think he made some money off if it at least until the end of the year.

I don’t think that their is anything wrong with looking around to try and see what prophecies are being fulfilled.

Matt 24 tells us that we won’t know the specific time but also alludes to the sings that will come before that will help us know what is going on.
 
Today is one day closer to the end than yesterday.

A man who is killed in a car crash, for all intents and purposes, has gone through the end of the world.

A woman who dies of cancer is experiencing the second coming.

The point is that every day we should be ready. Jesus may not come back, but we may go to him

I do think that there is danger is trying to place a date on it. When it misses, then what?

I remember the radio guy who predicted 1996. He said the bible stated we wouldn’t know the day or hour but he did know the month and the year! I didn’t believe him but… he was pretty knowledgeable about what was in the bible even tho I didn’t agree with his interpretation… so it did motivate me to go to confession… just in case.😉
 
It can be considered witchcraft in a loose involuntary sense if the alleged prophet is being fed by a deceptive spirit IMO. It’s possible to be voluntary witchcraft ( although they would not call it that) if the person gets so attached to the movement of their vision that self righteousness overcomes them. If truth becomes secondary to the cause of their prophecy.

A form of witchcraft…maybe

False prophet …yes

Soothsayer…depends on how they relate to people around them.

LOL I tend to be a bit that way also. Like whenever there is a major disaster I get a bit more motivated to read and pray.
 
Unless Jesus arrives earlier, and before I die…The “end of the world” for me, will occur the day that I die.

Nobody knows when Jesus is coming to get us, so it is important that our bags are packed, and that our papers are in order and that we are always ready to go…🙂

We need to pack our bags and make sure our papers are in order, so that when we do tip-over; it makes it easier for others to go through our stuff…😃

It’s interesting that the things Jesus say’s about knowing the ‘time’ of the end apply to knowing our own end time.

They are no more fortune tellers or those other things you mentioned than the Jews who were waiting for the long-prophesied Messiah.

And like many of the Jews at that time, the “end times” Protestants have much of it wrong.

How do you know it is that Jesus comes and gets us? Why not the Blessed Mother or any of the saints? I personally think none of us are worthy to see the face of Christ when we die. This is what purgatory is to me. We will all go to purgatory before we even see the face of Jesus.

Why is that so hard to understand? Because it means we have to accept our own sins and repent and that we must face our own mortality
 
Ready or not (I pray ready) end times is the hour of my death when Jesus comes to get me in whatever condition that he chooses it would be.

If you know where Christ is then why did you say,

when I showed you the chaplet shares the truth that we are taken into the presence of the Father?

Yes, I know for sure that Michael does this and the information given to Antonia d’Astonac, who had a vision of St. Michael, confirms that.
