Merely believing it is right does not make it so.Yes, that is very true.
When doing math, one person may get the wrong results, and the other get the right results. But both use reason to perform calculations, and both persons believe they have achieved the right results. They believe their calculations fit with reality, so they choose to believe that result. They consider it good.
This doesnāt mean that both results are correct. My disagreement with your earlier statement is that you complained āAnd for the fifty-million-trillionth time since Adam, somebody decides for themselves what is good.ā
I merely pointed out that each of us decides what is good. However, some of us are right and some of us are wrong. You follow the Church because you believe it is right. Another person may disagree with the Church. But both you and that other person is deciding what is good.
