I’m losing control! I’ve turned an Episcopal gay thread into an homage to Gondor! Help! 😛
 
If you say you’ve met Sean Bean I’ll get as jealous as the time you told me you met George Romero! I’m a big Bean fan. He’s a total CLASS ACT! He’s the man!

If I had met Sean Bean, my wife would have knocked me down getting to him. She liked Boromir; she is a wild-eyed, raving, Richard Sharpe fanatic.

I see Larkin helped you. But also if you truly are interested you could do like me and look up various sources online and actually go to a source in your community. I have corresponded with clergy of various churches about their churches including ELCA, DoC, PCUSA, SDA, TEC, UCC, UMC. I have yet to ever receive an email in return from a Catholic priest. I have in a couple of instances from a Catholic parish director and a Bible Study leader. Anyway I once asked a UCC pastor what the process of membership is in his church. His answer included a series of questions to which a person would need to affirm. Not the least being:

Do you profess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior?

So there ya go. 🤷 Peace.

A local rector of one of TEC parishes near me said very little dissension and no exodus of churches in her diocese.
 
Just out of curiosity, why were you asking that pastor about UCC anyway? That wouldn’t even be anywhere on my radar as a possible church!!

Ahh now Gurney you know I’m quirkier than you are! 😛 I even once took a SDA Bible study just for info and to learn where they’re coming from. Well that and I might have had an eye on an SDA girl at the time. 😃 I even pased with flying colors. Not with the girl but with the study. Received a nice certificate. It’s somewhere.

Why oh why does it have to be Church Divinity School of the Pacific? I like that school. I have friends who go there, or have gone there. I know Catholic priests who have had classes there.

I have to agree here. When I read it the first thing I thought was, ‘well is Jesus God or just a prophet?’
