Many good priests of an Anglo-Catholic bent have remained, and will remain in the Continuum - one reason being that they cannot be bishops if they are married. Our diocesan bishop, for instance, is strongly Anglo-Catholic and, being a married man, has no plans to swim the Tiber.My bishop, +John-David Schofield, has a more cynical view of the ordinariates. He isn’t a fan. Neither is my rector. They view it as a power play by Rome to ciphen out the anglo-catholics and steadily wipe out the Anglican Church. Bishop Schofield was courted by the Vatican himself. He told us legates met with him trying to get him to roll over and become Catholic. He is celibate, unmarried, an anglo-Catholic, so they figured they could convert him. No dice. A lot of people don’t like the way the ordinariates went down. And from an Anglican point of view, you have to admit, it’s pretty weird to be happy that the pope is draining your anglo-catholics and other folks out of your church leaving behind only the heretical algae. It’s not good for Anglicanism and not good for struggling and fledgling parishes/dioceses, etc.

It’s my experience that, largely in part to ESPN, the Giants are usually not liked across the country. And in California, you’re really either a Giants fan or a Dodgers fan. Yeah, there’s the Angels and A’s, and Padres but nobody really is serious about them LOL! (I’m kidding, they do have fans) and both sides are like the Cold War. We hate each other. Makes it more fun that way! We have some pretty mean names for each other (most of which I could never say on CAF! lol)…and the Dodgers-Giants rivalry gets heated at games.
ESPN hates the Giants like crazy and guys like Pedro Gomez always try to trash and disregard us. The Red Sox, Yankees, Cubs, and Braves get heaps of love thanks to the TONS of national coverage on ESPN, WGN, and TBS, etc.
I think most folks are going for the Phillies. They are the team to beat, loaded with talent, and overall are good guys. I have no hatred for the Phillies, just respect. But I am tired of them ruling the roost. Can we beat them? Our pitching is just as good, bull pen is better. Coaching equal IMO. Fans-wise I give us the edge. Our crowd is the greatest. But when it comes to offense, bats, shoot, Utley, Rollins, Howard, Victorino, all those cats, tough hill to climb. But hey, I believe in miracles! (you have to when you pull for the Bay Area teams! LOL, especially the Warriors!
Baseball. As for football, my Alabama boys went down in flames to South Carolina last week. Not a good sports week for me overall.
Oh, I must have misread what you posted. I think the ACNA, which is simply in its infancy at the pesent, will eventually surpass TEC in membership. Schori is presiding over a denomination that is half a corpse. The money won’t last forever. Meanwhile, daily more flock to the Continuum, especially after they get so totally fed up with some of the comments Schori makes, such as “individual salvation” is a western heresy.
