ESPN has issued a one-week suspension to anchorwoman Dana Jacobson for a profane rant at a celebrity roast in which she said, “F— Jesus,” according to sources.

The Chicago Tribune said the sports TV network declined to confirm the suspension, but ESPN spokesman Josh Krulewitz said, “Her actions and comments were inappropriate and we’ve dealt with it.”

The news came one day after WND reported a Catholic advocacy group charged the sports TV network had failed to take appropriate action and did not offer a sufficient apology for Jacobson’s outburst, in which she “attacked Jesus Christ.”
Jacobson, reportedly intoxicated, was speaking Jan. 11 at an event in Atlantic City, N.J., to honor ESPN Radio personalities Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic when she unleashed a tirade, saying, “F— Notre Dame,” “F— Touchdown Jesus” and finally “F— Jesus.”

The comments were made at a roast for Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic who host the Mike and Mike show on ESPN radio.
I do not listen to their show, but does anyone know if they made any comments about this?

I have watched and listened to ESPN and its offshoots from the beginning. I just informed them I will never sample any of their programming again unless they take the only appropriate action, namely terminate Dana Jacobson.

I sent a request to ESPN to terminate her. What do you think they would have done to her if her comments had been about Mohammed?

I would not be shocked if this anchorwoman is not punished more severely or justly. Recall that horrible day in September this past year when Kathy Griffin blasphemed our Lord in the same way before a crowd who began laughing! Face it, our culture has fallen into the pits of paganism, secularism, and relativism, so it is naturally fighting the Christian Faith and values the country was founded upon. The country legally sanctions the killing of the most innocent of lives, so why would it not allow the blaspheming of the King of Life? I firmly believe this country and most of Europe can only be transformed and truly converted again by “prayer and fasting,” as our Lord told us and continues to tell us.

I laughed when i read this. She clearly doesn’t value Christianity or Jesus so her comment is completely in line with her views.

When I was an atheist sipping a Hurricane in New Orleans once, an Evangelical came up to me and told me I should repent to avoid hell. I told him, “I’d rather be first in hell than second in heaven”. I said that not because I believed in heaven or hell, but because I didn’t. Same with this bimbo. God’s forgiven me (course I switched sides) so perhaps she’ll ask for his forgiveness one day too.

This was NOT humor; it was derision of the Son of God. One week’s suspension is nothing more than “going through the motions” by ESPN.

First it’s ridicule later persecution follows. These kinds of incidents (in my opinion) prompts the thought of Anti-Christ in the world.

Remember, this is the same orgination that broadcast “The View”. Looks like more channels to lock out on cable.

Did you all ever think that it’s religion itself she despises? That maybe in the context, what she’s really frustrated with is the incessant appealing to Jesus that wantonly takes place in all segments of society? In other words, someone gets a touchdown and thanks Jesus in his interview. Okay fine, but if you find out later the guy is banging every girl in the tri-state area, are you gonna wonder if his Christian praise is a little disingenuous?

I’m not really coming to her defense but I dislike her less than these people who go around using Jesus to make themselves appear nicer than they are. Know what I mean?

why stop at firing her? if she were living in afghanistan, where they still know how to administer justice, she would be sentenced to death for blaspheming god. that’s what happened to a journalist there just recently who circulated a story about how muhammad was an adulterer and a warmonger. note he didn’t actually write the article, he just circulated it. that will teach him a lesson!

From descriptions of Hell that I’ve read the demons constantly curse God. This poor woman blasphemes the Son of God almost identical to the way fallen angels do; they hate God…Ms. jacobson hates God, obviously.

She is on the road to that place and hopefully will be shown where she is headed.

She could use prayers of conversion…there is still hope for this poor soul…and ESPN while we’re at it!

Has anyone noticed how the major news networks are only reporting her attack on Norte Dame? Some aren’t even reporting that. Say something against Tiger Woods and get two week suspension, say something negative against Jesus and get a one week suspension???😦

I didn’t even know about this until I read it on the forums this morning. If Dana Jacobson had said “F— Allah” on Friday, January 11 (the night the statements were made) we would have ALL heard about it that same night. And you can bet your last dollar she wouldn’t just have been given a 1 week suspension for that! Shame on ESPN the most but shame on ALL of the media for not giving this the kind of coverage it should have gotten. BTW, don’t limit your complaints to ESPN or ABC. Remember both of those particular entities are owned by Disney. Write Disney and tell them you won’t be watching any Disney owned properties and see how quick of a response they make!

It took me a few minutes of poking around the website but the e-mail address for Disney is TWDC.Corp.Communications@disney.com

I suggest you use the Title “Dana Jacobson” in your e-mail. My guess is they’ll get the hint soon enough.

Jacobson, eh? If you ask me, this is all just a big display of antisemitism against this poor woman! Anyone who calls for her dismissal or any action against her is obviously against Jews.

Now, Christianity, well, now that’s another story. We’re fair game.

DisneyStudios once upon a time was a bulwark for God, Country and family. Not any longer, so it seems. ESPN is just another cancer that Disney has willfully attached itself.

Dana Jacobson revealed what is inside her heart and that is unfortunate. We are ALL temporal but some refuse to be aware of that fact.

To hate the Son of God, as she exhibited by her blasephemy, only brings her down by her own free will.

We should pray she will see the error of her heart.

It was a specific attack. She mentioned Notre Dame, she was talking about the “Touchdown Jesus” as the image that is there is often called. It appears it was an onslaught against the Catholic school and its Catholic religious affliliation specifically, when taken in context & given the other statments.

Mike Golic graduated from ND & it was a roast for the show (Mike & Mike), Golic is Catholic. The ND coach Charlie Weis was present. Everyone found it in bad taste, both Mikes included. She was booed off stage by the audience. Dana did apologize, she was drinking at the time & used very bad judgment. At least from media reports that’s the story.

If she was angry about religion it wasn’t the time or place, and she could have roasted his going to ND without the religious slurs.
