Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
Who is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez?
She’s a socialist, who won a seat to Congress as a Democrat, upsetting one of the most powerful Democrats in Congress during the primary.

Convenience has become too convenient. To get good information, I have to look for it. Too many people aren’t taught basic research.
Yet it has also never been easier to find primary sources. It never ceases to amaze me how many people think that they have no way of answering the “is it true?” portion of “is it kind, is it true and is it the right time and place to say it?”

Yes, I was referring to locals. I still think the editorial decisions they make have a lot to do with what they think their audience cares about. (In our area, grammar and attention to detail don’t often make the list.) The difference is that “cares about” has come to mean “generates lot of clicks and comments on the online version” because that is apparently how they get advertising revenue.

I will agree that there are owners of large concerns who own them for the sake of a larger agenda.

Thanks to work, I’ve had to learn how to do research. Yes, primary documents are easier to find but I still double-check. As far as the right time and place to say it, it means developing patience. Something I struggle with.

Rupert Murdoch is one example. I understand the pressure that people with a lot of money are under (other people, not me). It’s difficult to wake up every day and not be tempted to do certain things you want to do because you can. Elon Musk is under pressure by Wall Street who want him to drop his science fiction projects (see Blade Runner truck).

I think the press is being a force that is poisonous to society and to children
The press does not make news. The press reports news. Politicians and those who would like to manipulate the news are the ones who are hurtful to society.

Thanks to the press, we no longer have slavery in this country.
Thanks to the press, women have the right to vote.
Thanks to the press, we entered WW-II and defeated the Nazis, Italian Fascists, and the Japanese.
They lean towards the progress of history.

As you know, the same can be said (and then some) for those who want a job in journalism.
If what the boss wants is for you to write forcefully and in accordance with your pre-existing biases, which just happen to be in accordance with his, you have a job and you can sleep at night. If not? Not so much.

Those are all thanks due a long time ago.
We all know what we can thank the press for now.
(Could Edward R. Morrow do his job now? One has to wonder…)

If we go there, somebody is going to have to list falsehoods tweeted by the President. Let’s just not.

The press biases news. They will cover pro-abortion rallies. Anti-abortion? Very little or not at all.

if that was true but It isn’t true .

Just ask Nick Sandmann: Covington Catholic student's legal team sues NBC, MSNBC

Fake news inventing a libelous story, … GEE imagine THAT!

And it’s going to cost them a TON of bucks.

THAT’s just the tip of the iceberg.
