why do you want to deny what islam is? i just saw a program the other day where in yemen, a woman is helping many young girls as young as 10 get divorced. they had been married to older men - 30 years of age and up. they indoctrinate their children from an early age and fill their brains with propaganda. they teach their children terrible things about the jewish people. what about the honor killings? i see nothing peaceful about islam. why are you trying to turn the united states and our president into the bad guy?
the terrorists don’t represent islam to me. but most of these countries are greatly influenced by the sheiks who are in the mosques teaching men how to treat their families and about politics. i am sure there are some good qualities about islam, but
there is a thread right now on CAF asking muslims who converted to christianity why they converted, maybe you should read it. i think it was called, “calling all muslims”.

what about the persecution of catholics now in viet nam, and christians and catholics in india, and christians and catholics in indonesia. i don’t believe we are currently at war with those countries right now. it seems that muslims always have to blame someone other than themselves for the problem. they don’t want to admit it could be their religion.
this thread is about european catholicism and how it has declined in some countries and is regaining strength in others. islam is spreading, but it has also been said that younger generations of muslims are not attending the mosque. whether this is true or not i do not know.

yes, i agree. materialism and self-centeredness distract us from seeing God and wanting to please ourselves rather than God.

I have seen programmes on EWTN regarding the terrible sufferings of Christians and their Churches in many Muslim countries - it was a whole series with each programme focussed on a different muslim country as well as other countries where there is no freedom of religion: Egypt, Vietnam, Indonesia, N Korea, Saudi Arabia etc. I have copies of these programmes and I can assure you that it is extremely worrying and lamentable.
How you can deny this and call yourself a Christian I cannot understand.
This is not about attacking another Faith, it is about the truth which cannot be denied. It is documented, registered and well-known.

In some cases, Christians are asked to pay taxes for protection. If they refuse to pay these taxes, they are not given the help which is needed to protect them against extremists.

I would say a willingness on both sides to reach out to the other and a recognition that we are all part of God’s creation. They are our neighbours also we should love each other. We should not treat each other as aliens.
Above all they should not look upon non-muslims as animals and not deserving of consideration. If they kill us they think they have done something good. This is inconceivable! But it is true.
A friend of mine who returned from a holiday in Italy told me that a muslim woman lodged a complaint about a crucifix outside a Church. She passed the Church every day and found it offensive! Can you believe it?

You would think that the Justice System and the Constitution should be able to enforce justice and sack those who abuse power but that does not happen.

Why don’t they go crazy against radicals? Why don’t they speak out against injustice? One never hears Muslims speak out in defence of Christians who are killed or abused and Churches that are destroyed.
We, the people, are more numerous. We should find a way to combat injustice. I am not saying a revolution. I believe that if more of us were truly in love with God and led good lives this would manifest itself in all walks of life.

Islam is the major threat to the world. It is a false and violent religion founded by a killer.
Today the majority of terrorists are muslims and they cause most deaths from terrorist activities. Extend a hand to them and they won’t shake it. They will cut it off.

I might be wrong but I believe that Sailka may be a convert from Islam.
I can understand that such a person, although embracing Christianity may still harbour affection for the Muslims on the ground - he may have relatives and friends. The Pope reaches out to Muslims and it would be right if we also did the same.
I fully agree with what you say about terrorists but we must try to see things clearly. I know muslims who are gentle and very nice. As I pointed out I wish they would be more charitable towards us. Again, we don’t know do we - our vision is blurred by the terrorists.
So if Sailka was a muslim that’s OK with me. I understand his stand and I understand ours too. We must be charitable also

I see the nuclear club as a bigger threat. They have the nuclear weapons (not to mention the chemical and biological weapons) which can horribly burn, incinerate and destroy every living creature in the world one hundred times over again. The USA has used nuclear weapons which produced horrible civilian casualties in the past. Is there any guarantee that the USA would not use these horrible nuclear, chemical or biological weapons again?
