No need to use your gut, better to read all my posts in the thread.

I think our experiences would have us all formed “certain though” on how She works.
If Rome does not set things straight one would have to question themselves first to ensure they are correct and if they are dust off their sandles and move on away from the Catholic Church.
Fair enough Steven John. Only that you have used certain practical weakness of the Church, in this case liturgy abuse, to bring it all the way to Rome and if she does not take any action, for us to leave the Church.

If you are an ordinary Catholic, you would know that line of action could be hardly applied in this case. Like I said, the most we should do would be to report the case to the priest’s local Bishop and let him deal with it. The suggestion to pray for our priests is a very good one and which we should do in the situation.

Ralph was simply answering your question that there is avenue to bring our grievant within the church which ultimately we can even go to Rome. He did not say that it should be the route we take regarding the liturgical abuse in question. In fact he offered an otherwise suggestion.

I see that your real issue here is about the usage of YouTube which a poster out of his frustration condoning its use to fight against abuse. That’s a personal opinion. There is good and evil about the modern internet. We should still make use of it to our advantage. In fact the present Pope is envisaging its use as a form of evangelization. So there is no issue there actually except for the matter of personal opinion.

The more serious issue is whether we should leave the Church if we are not happy with it. The answer is obviously ‘no’ . People come and go but the Church stays. You don’t leave her because of the people there, for out of the few black sheep there are many good ones. Besides, God promised that evil will not prevail against her.

God bless you.

Stephen John,

The Church is a human institution, and you witnessed it. And I am sure it is being corrected.

Our work is to live out our faith. You being faithful and following Christ in your every day life has great presence and grace to counteract scandals.

Jesus said that the chaff would always be with the wheat…abuse and scandal of failed faith is something we always have to get used to and not lose our faith. Those who persevere to the end will be saved.

I have been reflecting on all your concerns, Stephen…I think you are right…

Please note that was an individual who posted on You Tube…and know that this group was most extreme…probably hardly anyone like them around.

It would have been better if they had gone to the pastor. Then let it go or go to another parish. And then move on living out your faith.

Hi everyone, i appreciate your time in posting responses to what i offered.

I have reflected and prayed on this thread very much, I dont feel G-d wants this sort of stuff pumped on you tube. If you look at my early posts i see it as a lack of faith. This echoes what i offered.
Besides, God promised that evil will not prevail against her.
From my gut in regards to the you tube poster i doubt that they followed the path offered by Br Ralph. My gut says satan took advantage of their pain and had them video and post on you tube. I am opposed to this action and others here have posted supporting them and their action.

IMO the pope was not meaning this type of action we have been discussing. My position is the you tube posting is not to OUR advantage. It makes Catholics look like an un unified people that cant organise reconciliation of differences and may turn those seeking relationship with G-d away from the Catholic church.
The more serious issue is whether we should leave the Church if we are not happy with it.
That twists what i offered as it is a very broad thing tho be “happy with it”

For me the True Church is souls coming together in unity. My offering was different. from our posts I had assumed the you tube poster a faithful Catholic who had exhausted all Church avenues to have things put right.
Their brethren in the pews, PP, bishop… to the head of the church being Rome. So have turned to you tube. If you are one soul and all other souls are in an accord that differs to yours and they are against G-d they have not welcomed you. If your not welcomed to share G-ds truth i offered to move along.

My G-d has spoken through Yeshua (pbwh) and should have told you like this. If i was a scripture memory person i would find it in your book.
The answer is obviously ‘no’ . People come and go but the Church stays. You don’t leave her because of the people there, for out of the few black sheep there are many good ones. Besides, God promised that evil will not prevail against her.
No the Church is not an institution She is the people yes we have sinners and yes I am one. But we sinners are shown right from wrong by spirit. To compare a “few black sheep” to what i offered is another twist. I was not talking about a few it was discussion including all of their brethren, PP, bishops…to the pope.

In my early posts I offered G-d would sort it and I know He will, after more prayer and reflection including those that post “hate” videos on you tube because they were not faithful in spirit and cling to this world.

Do as you believe G-d guides you post away but the Lord sayeth to me tell them DONT SUPPORT THIS TYPE OF YOU TUBE ACTION LOVE THEM AND GENTLY GUIDE THEM TO ACTIONS OF LOVE PATIENCE AND PEACE.

I will be who I will be, you have free will so choose who you see,
for Our Fathers will pray for me

But with our organization, etc., we are a human institution…we are a church. Yes, its center is human, mystical, spiritual…but we are also ordinary as well…and thus we have our own chain of command…

There has been alot of scandal in covering up the sex abuse cases…things going in the opposite direction…

Thank you, Stephen John, for your depth of spirit.

You guys do realize that there is an EXCELLENT chance that no one EVER complained about those videos? More often than not, these things are never mentioned for one reason or another. Two of the most common are “They already know and are allowing it” and “Someone else will. I don’t want to be in the middle of it.”

I would be willing to say that no one ever complained to anyone about them

Ralph…don’t know…don’t know…

My former diocese was about the most controversial American church so many years back…people sent letters to Rome, etc., but when things became public to everybody, it stated that who Rome listened to were the 70 priests.

See, I just have trouble relating. My diocese has not had these wide-spread problems, and, for the most part, when people have complained, steps have been taken to deal with it.

That makes it seem like the problem is the bishop. When Rome called the Bishop, I would hate to think that the truth was not told

One of the first things that happened in my former native diocese was the closing of the seminary…

True…but don’t want to name it. It is all corrected but people felt like the longest time they weren’t being listened to. My new provencial came. He thought I was a pick.

Then when he read our ‘Catholic’ newspaper, he told me he was aghast. We had a near black out of John Paul II… good men being turned away from seminaries by feminist nuns because they weren’t for women ordination, etc.

It left the diocese completely polarized…and people started labelling each other as conservative meaning alot of baggage and liberal meaning heresy…the Mass was completely polarized…so much fighting…Took 10 years afterwards to have unity and peace.

So during all of that, people went to all lengths to make their grievances…and it only caused more damaged…I was trying to recall and then that is why I told Stephen John for somebody to use Youtube as a grievance…for the whole world that has emnity towards the church…he was right…but people are human…and I was saddened to see as well that lay people’s (name removed by moderator)ut didn’t bear…but it also meant to go through the right channels because the priest are the foundation of the church and can tell if someone had a true grievance or not…so best go through them…and they told us to vote with our feet…go to another church.

What did exist that was profound was all the Catholics united under John Paul II and our Blessed Mother…there was such a sense of the sacred among us…and we all worked very hard to be charitable and united and …discreet.

All is forgiven and the local church is going forward. And some have changed their ways.

We humans tend to lock someone in an image that they have outgrown.

I am thankful that all is better.

Well put, thank you.
Especially for you closing line, I will remember that !

Stephen John,

The Church is a human institution, and you witnessed it. And I am sure it is being corrected.
Yes Sister, i understand what you mean by the human institution, my point was about the True Church being an accord of souls. The human institution comes from this but the accord of souls The Church is not dependant on this. G-d is in the accord and the accord in Him. yes He helps the worldly institution but it is not where we seek Him.
Take away the accord of souls and you will not find G-d in the institution.

When i started to offer this it was not in response to your earlier post but was to try and explain that if the institution would not yield to the truth and your brethren will not support truth their is no welcome.

Our Fathers kingdom is not like this world and He needs this world not. It is we who need this world to develop discernment of what His kingdom is. So in the end times we will see truth and serve The King that this world may become a true and just reflection of Our Fathers Kingdom.
Our work is to live out our faith. You being faithful and following Christ in your every day life has great presence and grace to counteract scandals.
Amen, and it will all be put right, it has been promised you and i am called witness to that promise so some of you will let go of clinging to this world and have peace.
I dont know the you tube poster so cant really say but reckon that poor soul is not in the fullness of peace. Not a situation to be supported. I have been left wondering how many of the posters supporters here would actually do the same or if they would be standing on the side glad he is doing it and not me. Conned by shatan that wrong can fix wrong.

I love the ones who posted the you tube, I too have felt and feel their pain, i praise My Father for their zeal for His house, but zeal is best in peace and faith. I know if My Father chose them they will be calmed and given peace.
Jesus said that the chaff would always be with the wheat…abuse and scandal of failed faith is something we always have to get used to and not lose our faith. Those who persevere to the end will be saved.
Yes and no dear sister never get used to it, it does not belong here, every experience of it is opportunity for Our Father to strengthen us how to serve Him in His word or Yeshua (pbwh).

Never thank me for anything, I am a sinner, if you see any little glimpse of goodness it is Our Fathers, thank Him.

I love you very very much Sister and praise Our Father for His goodness in you.

I will be who I will be, you all have free will so choose who you see, If you can please pray for me

Yes, and thank you…and recalling that Christ is the Word Made Flesh, also realize that grace of Jesus works through our human nature…

We have to be patient and understanding…and you reflected a profound teaching…Never lose one’s inner peace…so hard to due in a hectic lifestyle…must take force of will to start each day in prayer before the Lord…

Stephen,

You should get St. Catherine of Siena’s ‘Dialogues’…and learn the walk of perfection…it is the same for everyone…so deep…and the subsequent ‘books’…the one on tears…and the different types of tears…on ‘The Church’…
