I will Ag. but lets do this another way for right now. Try this with me ok.

Alright right now, you and I our at a place in our lives that we both believe, we know the difference between right and wrong. You agree with me so far right? Okay now we are both baptised, believe in GOd, go to Church and as far as we know are in pretty good shape. So lets say at this moment we are both saved. Now can we agree with that?

Now lets say we both work together, and are pretty good friends and as far as we can see are pretty good people. Again from what you can see about me and I can see about you our soul should be in pretty good shape. And remember God died for both of us. So now if we would pass right now we have a good chance of getting in.

Now by my belief a good chance. By your belief a guarantee, right, Now see if you agree with me until this point and this story will continue. ( just try this story with me Ok),
I’m with you so far.

I’d clarify and say that I believe that Jesus was God in the flesh (because lots of people believe in a ‘god’) that He died for my sins and on the third day He rose and now sits at the right Hand of God. I believe the whole package (my High Priest, Mediator, etc.) but I won’t complicate your story.

Yes, I have His guarantee of eternal life, you feel you have a good chance.

I’ll be back this afternoon.
I’m glad we are doing this.🙂

Okay now, we become good friends. Now I am married you are married. Now we go out and I meet some guy. You tell me don’t do it you are married, but I don’t listen I have an affair. Then later down the road after my marriage falls apart, I need money. So I start stealing from the company we both work for. Then My life just falls apart. I make one bad choice after another. You keep telling me, look what you are doing, I won’t listen. Now you are always my friend, you will always love me, but you need to distance yourself from me because I am really changing. So you pray for me, but I just seem to get worse. I keep making the wrong choices. I tell you don’t judge me, so you just lay off. Now life goes on, I continue to live my way, not God’s way. But I say to you listen I believe in God, (and I really do) and I know I am saved. I cannot lose my Salvation because Jesus paid for all of my sins.

Now here you are, you were quite tempted to have an affair, but you turned away from the sin, and you choose God. You needed money too, and you could have stole money too, and got away with it by the way, but again you picked God, you didn’t do it.

Now am I still saved?

Rinnie, before I answer that, and I’m not being nit-picky, you said twice that you believe in God - three times if counting your first post to start this story. Salvation is not the belief in God, but in Jesus. “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” ~Acts 4:12

So if you accepted Jesus and still did all those things, you are still saved. Period.
The moment you accepted Christ, your name was written in the Book of Life, you passed over from death to life, and nothing and no one can snatch you back into death again.

That said, I, being human, might question your (story) statement of salvation. How can anyone filled with the Holy Spirit quench it to that extent (stealing, affairs, etc). But Jesus is the Good Shepherd, and when a lost sheep is returned to the fold, there is much rejoicing. Personally, I praise His Name that He has been so faithful with me. I had serious trust issues with God, and I’m just glad I have lived long enough to see it.

The way y’all talk, you seem to think that you know your every sin and that through your sacraments and confession, all is made well with the Lord. It’s no wonder that you wouldn’t think it fair if someone lived a sin-filled life and still gained eternal life through Jesus. It’s the same way the legalistic of the Bible felt.

Contrast that to my experience based solely on the Word of God. I am sanctified in Christ, I am righteousness in Christ, all of my hope is in Christ,. I am weak but He is strong. In Christ the Holy Spirit dwells inside of me, and **in Christ **I stand firm. It is **in Christ **that I am bold and able to spread the knowledge of Him on this thread with confidence and truth. It is **in Christ **that I am being transformed day by day to something closer to His likeness. It is only **in Christ **that I am a new creation. It is **in Christ **that God does not hold my sin against me.

I could go on and on. One more - it is in Christ that I can speak to you the message of reconciliation as though God were making His appeal to you through me. “We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.” ~2 Corinthians 5:20-21

Okay lets start here if you are asking me is I believe in the Father, SOn Holy spirit and believe that they are all made up of one God. Yes. Do I accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior Yes yes and yes.

Okay now you are saying that I can sin, Mortal sin, now and live a life of sin and still get into heaven. As long as I accept Jesus Christ as my Savior?

l
Just as OSAS to you is accepted God’s grace no matter what and to me OSAS is taking God for granted.
Whizkid, I was thinking about this today and I came up with something that might make you feel better about OSAS.

Say you accepted Jesus as a teenager and were very devout. Then as an adult, you feel into a life of sin with drugs, porn, all-in-all dirty living. You died young.

You now stand before Jesus a once pitiful sinner, now righteous, washed clean by the Blood, as promised. God the Father and Son are glorified.

Where is Their glory in casting you into hell?

You know, “the first shall be last” kind of thing.

Always. Explain this to me. Now this came from Jesus.

He who endures to the end will be saved. Matt 24:13 25:31-46. Ok first of all why did Jesus say that why do we have to endure anything and what do we have to endure? We got saved from Baptism right?

Next THis is a real good one. One who dies in the state of friendship with Christ (that means grace) will go to heaven. The one who dies in a state of enmity and rebellion against God (that means we sinned mortal sin. breaking that commandment I told you about adultery, etc.) will go to Hell!

Also you still never explained this one to me Matt 7:21 Not everyone who says to me Lord Lord shall enter the kingdom of heaven.

Hi Rinnie!
Nope. We are saved when we believe, not when we are Baptized. Belief, then baptism.

Matt. 24 about enduring - Jesus is speaking about the Tribulation. We won’t be here during the trib. because we have been promised that we won’t have to suffer the wrath of God. Jesus is speaking of those who come to Christ during the Trib. Has nothing to do with us. This is why it’s important to not pick a scripture and use it out of context.

Yeah, I did, but I don’t mind giving my opinion again. I said when I watch some tv ministers that use the name of Jesus to grab money, that imo, that is what they are going to hear from Jesus. “Didn’t we do this in Your Name, and didn’t we do that in Your Name?” Yeah, right. They are only USING His Name.

I don’t know anything about dying in a state of friendship. Let’s please stick to the Word of God. If you have scripture that says if one dies in mortal sin and is saved they will go to hell, then please post it here.

My turn!

Rinnie, please explain this to me:

"Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in My Father’s name, they bear witness of Me. But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I said to you. My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. I and My Father are one.”
~John 10:25-30

And this one:

“Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.”
~2 Corinthians 1

I asked God prayerfully today to show me the truth of OSAS. Tonight, when I got back to answer your story, I did a keyword search through the Bible to remind myself of all the things I am “in Christ”. These two scriptures (posted) jumped out at me so I read them in context.

I am 100% sure once saved, always saved. I talked to God, He talked back through His Word. I believe what He says. All of it.
I praise God for His and my relationship.

Glad you asked. Lets start here. Now you said we are saved by salvation alone. We do not have to do anything.

Again Jesus says different. beside the repent, etc. Here is something else.

Matt 25:31-46 Long story short Jesus is going to separate the sheep from the goats. The sheep he will say (they did something, you said we do not have to do anything we are saved Jesus again says the Opposite. We have to feed the hungry, help the poor care for the sick etc.

Now we got the Goats. they didn’t do anything.

Now you said there is nothing we can do to earn our salvation, its already done on the cross.

Back to the point, you said we do not have to do a thing, but we should WANT to do these things. I See nothing in that scripture that says I can see you wanted to feed the poor, etc. It is quite clear you did not do anything, eternal punishment. I see nothing about You believe that I am the Savior, so you are getting in. Works, I see works. Doing something!

Just read your post. Hang on a sec and I’ll post more scripture (just one liners if you don’t mind) than you can shake a stick at. 🙂

My turn!

Rinnie, please explain this to me:

~John 10:25-30
Sure, Jesus is talking to the Pharisees,They do not believe that he is God. He is telling them that the words and deeds of Jesus are the words and deeds of God, They don’t believe him.

Mark 16:16
Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

Luke 8:12
Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved.

John 1:7
He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all men might believe.

John 1:12
Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—

John 2:23
Now while he was in Jerusalem at the Passover Feast, many people saw the miraculous signs he was doing and believed in his name.

John 3:16
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:36
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him."

John 4:41
And because of his words many more became believers.

John 5:24
"I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.

John 6:29
Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”

And this one:

Okay now on 2 corinthians 1 Is this your meaning of the scripture or what. I am lost here, Are you quoting scripture, or telling me what it means to you. Mine doesn’t say the same thing. OR maybe you got the verse wrong or something. Anyway I promise to get back to you tommorow gotta hit the bed. God’s peace be with you ALways. Good night!

Promise to answer all of your scripture tommorow. Been a long long day. Again good night. Sleep tight!😃

John 11:25
Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies;

John 11:26
and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?"

John 11:40
Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?”

John 12:46
I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.

John 16:27
No, the Father himself loves you because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God.

John 17:20-21
Jesus Prays for All Believers ] “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.”

John 20:31
But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.

I had no idea there were so many! Those are the gospels, Jesus speaking mostly. I was thinking the majority were in Paul’s gospel. Guess I learn something new every day.🙂

Sorry, Rinnie. I left off the verse numbers. That’s 2 Corinthians 1:21-22 .

Good night! I see you have signed off.
My prayer for you is that you wake in the morning feeling the abundance of new Grace and Mercy from the Lord, even more than adequate for the day.
I give God thanks and all the Glory for answering this prayer said in love.
AMEN!
