I must half disagree. It is very important why we now worship God primarily on Sunday: it is because Jesus rose on a Sunday. Every Sunday is a celebration. We fast on Fridays because God died on a Friday. Most every Friday is a day of mourning.
Jesus that built the ‘universal’ Church? 😉
Answering that second paragraph, and, I don’t know why I’m doing this, but, Heaven forbid he ever get banned; that will just confirm his suspiscions and validate his ego and standings with other Jesus persecuters.
I was thinking they might be a Messianic Jew, but I don’t think Messianic Jews will even post on a forum on Saturdays, at least some of them I’ve communicated with. 🤷

Messianic Jews are staunch about retaining the old law with the new…

I guess we’ll just have to ask again…in the next thread he/she starts. 😛

I was interested to see TS123’s response to my post #58. Afterall, I read the lengthy articles in the link they provided. It really appears if you refute anything they bring up, they quit participating in the thread and start a new one.

You know that this is false. I never said such a word. I said that I was busy at the moment and could not engage in a long conversation, but wanted to let you know that I will respond to you when I had more time on my hands.

That is not Christ like, but you have the audacity to call yourself a child of God. This is truly sad. You would try to discredit me in such a way. With that statement, you took it absolutely too far. It is no longer about religion with you, it is now personal. You have a personal issue with me, and that is why you made such a false statement.

I will pray for you and pray that you let go and put God first in your life.

I know what you are trying to do and I know what type of person you are. I have had conversations with individuals on this site and never once did I make such a statement.

It is false and you know it. This is truly sad.

Alright, so, for the record, you do believe Jesus Christ is God, is the Son of God, the Son of Man, and the Second Person of the Trinity?

lol I know what you are doing.
I read your lengthy link and responded, to which you haven’t been around for your (name removed by moderator)ut. "You don’t seem interested in an honest discussion, only trying to smear the Catholic Church…

lol I know what you are doing.
Letting you tell your side of the story?

I want to see the personal correspondence between the two of you, but, since that may be none of my business, I thought I’d ask you outright. My question still stands, it SEEMS to me like a simple yes or no answer.

We are living in the seventh day, the Sabbath is every second of every day of every year.

Sunday is the start of the week so it seems like it’d be a fitting day for Church service.

It holds no other significance.

I was wondering why you mentioned TS at all to be honest. It seems like you were just playing the middle man and the messenger is always shot. I knew something was up when you said he wouldn’t be on…and then, within a few hours, he was on the boards again, when I do not recall him posting for a few days and he certainly doesn’t owe anybody an explination of why he wasn’t or wasn’t going to be here.

I would, however, like to see, with my own eyes, the correspondence, and, I think, for the benefit of everybody, the documents in question should be posted to see if that was indeed what was said.

No Truthseeker is not of the SDA or is he a JW.

But if this Truthseeker is the same as one from another forum I use to attend…Eliyah.com (I think my spelling is off there, as it was on my old computer favorites). Then I believe I can understand where this Truthseeker is comming from.

They are very big into the Torah. They are more like a Jewish/Christian, for a lack of a better way to explain things. A lot of them on that forum attend the “Assembly of Yahweh”. Which is very interesting, as they want everyone to call God Yahweh, (which I have no problem with) and yet they use the King James Bible in the Assembly, but yet they do publish and sell The Book Of Yahweh, (which I have) and this Bible replaces the word “God” with the Name “Yahweh”.

On the Eliyah.com forum, they prefer that everyone use the name Yahweh, in fact they are pretty big on it. They celabrate all the Festivals of the Old Testament.

They also promote a book called “Fosslizied Customs” talking about Pagan Roots to our Christian Holidays and more.

I do know for a fact there use to be a Truthseeker there, because I was also a memeber of this board at one time. (when I was away from the Catholic Church).

I just went to check and the board is now closed, however they do still have a chat room. Anyway this is where I believe Our Truthseeker is comming from.

Check out some of the links Truthseeker that many here have provided for you on this forum, such as the CC. I wish you well. May God Bless you.

I like most people on this forum would truely like to have a Two way conversation with TruthSeeker. It doesn’t bother me if TruthSeeker doesn’t agree with me on what I believe, however I would like to have an honest conversation on these boards. Not just what he believes and how wrong the Catholic Church. (after all this is a Catholic Website.)

I do like to understand where someone else is comming from in their beliefs; however I would also like for them to take the time and understand (even if they don’t agree) what our beliefs are as Catholics.

I have learned a lot from our Non-Catholic Christian Friends on this board. I’m sure they have learned a lot from us. Do we always agree? Nope, but yet we at least are willing to “look and try to understand” where each other is comming from.

Truthseeker is wanting us to read his links, yet he doesn’t seem to want to see or learn our view points. It’s fine if he doesn’t want to believe our viewpoints, but at least make it a two way street. It’s all about “sharing and getting to know the other.”

Truthseeker won’t even “admit or share” what his religion is. I have no idea why, what’s to be ashamed of? And how are we to learn anything about his religion, if he won’t share it?

Yet time after time, we are to “do as he ask” and yet it all seems to lead to bashing or pointing our how Wrong the Catholic Religion is. I for one am tired of it. No one else on here does that…

The rest of us although we may be of different Christian Religions are willing to learn and share. That’s what this is all about.

May you all have a Blessed Night. It’s time for bed in my neck of the woods.

Thanks, but that isn’t me that you are referring to. Though, you have some things correct about me, that’s not me.

I get exactly what you are saying, but please hear me out. I’ve read many of the links posted by catholics. I have a few of them saved on my pc. Believe me whenn I say this, I am working on providing more of a two way street. As long as the conversation remains off of a personal level or isn’t geared toward attacking.

As for my denomination, I have nothing to be ashamed of. I refuse to share it with you, because it will only allow people to put every single belief of that denomination on me. So if you want to know what I believe, then let me tell you. If I tell you my denomination, you will possibly search it. If you search it and come up with a belief of what I do not share with others who may be “lost” or bias then how do I get you to see that, that is not of me?

So, once again, let me tell you what I believe and not some website full of truth mixed with error.

Would it be correct to say you’re the person who provided a lengthy link and said you would respond to posts by people who actually read the editorials provided in that link?
All of those links, I have saved. And yes, I read them.

Let’s try to stay on topic this time.

Back to the link.
You realize those were ‘editorials’?

I’m surprised you wanted to bring that to light for two reasons. First, you can’t only take a part of that as truth and ignore others parts of truth. In other words, the author dated the Catholic Church back to be the one Christ built. Second, I realize we have interpretational differences with scriptures and you’ll probably want to attribute my thoughts to interpretational differences on these editorials. The author was questioning why ‘Bible only’ Protestants would follow a tradition of the Catholic Church, when the Bible clearly gives no other time for the Sabbath except for Saturday…

The two way street of discussion you’re offering doesn’t exist. You post links or scriptures with no (name removed by moderator)ut as to what you believe in reference to those postings.

So, everyone in your denomination does not agree? And, if we were to visit your Church’s website, we’d find it was mixed with error?

You’re talking about honesty? Let’s remember, you sent me a pm first.

I gave you that “lengthy” response, which wasn’t lengthy at all. I typed it very quickly. If I were to respond to your question, it wouldn’t have been so fast, being that I love to “think” about what I am explaining and not rush through it.

As for you giving a false statement about me, I will let that go. We know that what you said was false and the reason you did it. I just pray that you repent of your actions.

So, this isn’t a two way street? Every denomination has people who do not agree. I have catholic friends who do not agree with some of you on hear.

Israel was God’s people and whoever reads the Bible know that they weren’t perfect in anyway. You had leaders who believed in one thing while the people were worshiping images and cursing God. Do you think everyone in a denomination has the same beliefs as the other thousands or millions of others in that denomination?

When a poster posts a few scriptures or a link, without expressing any view of their own belief, it’s a one way street.

Why did Christ tell people to listen and do whatsoever those in authority over God’s truth said, even though those in authority were sinful?

Catholics don’t claim that we all agree on everything, but Catholics stand with the one true Church and don’t hide behind anonymity. Some don’t agree out of a lack of knowledge of their own faith, as well as other reasons I cannot guess. Either way, you seemingly seem to think there is no truth except what you choose to accept. What makes that truth?

You are reading things about Catholics and posting what seems like your ‘veiled’ opinions based on anything you read without validating whether it’s true or not.

Now, you’re correcting us with your ‘truth’ and then say it’s mixed with error. If it’s mixed with error, how do you know what’s truth and what’s error? How did you receive an authority to decide which is truth and which is error? Can you not see the ‘authority’ you assume over ALL others with those type statements?

Also, there’s irony in someone critiquing our faiths and avoiding the same critiquing of what they say. Like I said, it’s a one way street with you.

I read the link and responded my opinion, which you have ignored…
