They will take note that you have failed to answer our posts after alleging that our arguments are invalid…
After this thread, my enduring image of a certain brand of Catholicism is a bunch of guys with their fingers in their ears singing “la la la la la la” at the top of their voices, congratulating each other for beating all-comers after everyone else stops making eye contact and suddenly remembers a pressing engagement elsewhere. 😃

Hilarious thread btw. See you around, must rush.

You are out of date…

But I think God wants us to hypothesize and theorize even if our attempts are pathetic. I think He wants us to try to understand His creations. I don’t think He laughs at our measly attempts (I wouldn’t blame Him if he did - it must be like watching an ant farm and I think He must have a sense of humor because He gave us a sense of humor.

I believe that on one level there is purposelessness while on other levels this purposelessness becomes purposeful. Sometimes I think that we are all just colonies of cells, like a Portuguese Man O’ War and that our brains are simply the cells that deal with the decision making that the “body” needs in order to survive and get those genes into the gene pool. And sometimes I think this idea is just plain stupid.

Sorry - just thinking out loud.
That is why He revealed Himself to us.

With no evidence to the contrary, I see no need for substantiation…
Again, with no evidence to the contrary, substantiation is not needed.

]The material I read from scientists say quite plainly that most ot the universe is unknown.
The ocean floor of our own planet is largely unknown.
There may in fact be something our own planet more complex than the human brain.

Animals have habits that scientists cannot explain. Just today was a news story about the Monarch butterflies that all return to one spot, and have been doing this for unknown generations, with no explanation of how or why. The Monarch butterfly may be more comple than the human brain.
Unknown means, unknown.
Scientist know, that there are phenomenon they are not aware of, how can they possibly know these unknown, are not more complex.

The best you can do, is to say that with the very limited knowledge of scientists, many of them believe the MIND (not the brain) is the most complex phenomenon they are aware of.
The human brain is no more complex than the brain of dog, it is the mind that distinguishes mankind.

You make a series of unsubstantiated statements, and finish with “What are your views?”
I give you my views, and now you do not like them.

Where you start the discussion, with no substantiations, you now want responders to make substantiations.
You have it backwards.
Substantiate your claims, and I can respond.

The claims you make are suppositions, no more.
What evidence is needed to refute suppositions, except more rational suppositions?
You have not made one positive statement in your post!

I know this is in the UK and I don’t know how things work there but I am completely against any religious instruction in public schools.

Now I’m going to duck, cover my head, and run for the hills.
Here is the rub - If one wants schools to teach children truth what truths do you exclude and why? Catholics know the Catholic Church has the fullness of truth.

Yes, but the tag team is one thing that didn’t get put together as the result of a design. 🙂 It was just the random affect of agreement on some important issues.
You could call it a case of undesigned design - which is obviously far less plausible than “designed undesign”. :ouch:

So you would leave them at the mercy of the “Science explains how we exist” brigade… :bigyikes:

Most definately 🙂

How did this thread get to over 2000 posts? I thought after 1000 posts threads were locked?

Sarah x 🙂

Catholics should start by supporting Catholic Schools.

Natural science explains how our anatomy exists which is important while we are living.🙂

Real Catholic education, not the current fluff in some places, explains our spiritual life while we are living.🙂

Idea – Catholic ID advocates should promote all Catholic School events. They should contact parishioners about sending their children to Catholic Schools, etc. They should support Catholic educational outreach programs to Catholic adults.

ID advocates should support all evidence of God…

Not if a thread is worth its salt! The desire to have evidence for Design curtailed is a good reason for letting it continue - especially when it has provided a rational basis for following the example of Jesus, has not been side-tracked or become unruly and is so popular it has been viewed more than 23,000 times… 👍
How popular is ID science among the Scientific Community?🙂 And how many of those supporting numbers are actually Christian?
