As already posted, and to which you’ve yet to reply:
Evolution is evolution. There’s no such thing as “Christian evolution,” any more than there’s such a thing as “Christian gravitation” or "Christian photosynthesis."

whatever has evolution or this topic got to do with gravity or photosynthesis or pie in the sky - ywinc

You believe the sun, planets, and all other such revolve around the earth?
this is not new or lately but has always been so,so how come you didnt know - have you been reading the wrong books or listening to the wrong people instead of to the right people and the right book[The Bible] and God - twinc

As with gravitation and photosynthesis, evolution is merely one more material process in the natural world.

Correct. I am not prepared to accept the personal opinions of these particular lay-run websites concerning “what the Church has (supposedly) always taught.”

ah ha so that is where the presumably deliberately induced blind spot is.You think what they are quoting etc have been personally concocted by them when in fact it is the teaching of the Church and Tradition and the Church Fathers - check it out and produce the ones you suspect as concocted etc - twinc

Nobody has to scrape around in lots of places to find Church teachings.
ALL Church teachings are summarised in the Catechism of the Catholic Church which has footnotes referencing the sources of the teachings.

Thanks for the clarification. Funny how none of the Catholic schools my parents or I or my children went to taught that in their science classes.

in which case presumably you have noticed Church teaching on Evolution is nil so where is all this evolution nonsense coming from - there is of course mention at 282 that Catechesis on creation is of major importance - so how about that then - twinc

so dont you know they in the main had to teach what was in the textbooks and in the curriculum. Some have tried to teach creationism - did you not hear about or see the movie Expelled or hear about some trying to introduce creationism and creation science into schools and elsewhere, especially in the USA I have heard and read - twinc

Fortunately none of those same schools taught or teach creationism. They teach religion and science, which are completely compatible with each other (along with history, language, math, etc.).

I’m sure in some class they talked about all kinds of cosmological theories…creationism, evolution, big bang, the giant turtle that carries the world on its back, and so on.

Fortunately, religion was for what the Church teaches and science for what science teaches.

There is not a teaching on evolution because Catholics are free to believe it or not. We are not bound either way.

Or… It’s you who has the blind spot.
You think what they are quoting etc have been personally concocted by them…
No, merely that it has been personally interpreted by them.

Wherever did you get that from or who told you that lie.Surely as a Catholic you should be able to see that Evolutionism and Catholicism will mix like oil and water - twinc

however do you make that out or come to that conclusion, they just reproduce it and lay it out and open for all to see and discuss should they so wish - please short circuit all this nonsense you have picked up and go to all Catholic experts and specialists as suggested by Pope Pius XII in humani generis - twinc

Sorry, but Sungenis and the Kolbe center can hardly be considered “experts and specialists” in these matters, any more than I myself am. Rather, I’ll stick with Pope Benedict XVI:
"Now, more reflective spirits have long been aware that there is no either-or here. We cannot say: creation or evolution, inasmuch as these two things respond to two different realities. The story of the dust of the earth and the breath of God…does not in fact explain how human persons come to be but rather what they are. It explains their inmost origin and casts light on the project that they are. And vice versa, the theory of evolution seeks to understand and describe biological developments. But in so soing it cannot explain where the ‘project’ of human persons came from, nor their inner origin, nor their particular nature. To that extent we are faced here with two complimentary—rather than mutually exclusive—realities" (In the Beginning, p. 50).
