He’s twice as good in person.
His conversion story is one I’d bet satan does not want any sinner to hear.I don’t like the guy’s style (way too harsh). What purpose does his approach serve in the grand scheme of things? I wonder who decided he could make a contribution to national evangelization. I DON’T GET IT! *** Whenever I see him on TV, I bolt across the room to change channels or hit the mute button. The guy really gets under my skin. ***![]()
then it’s true, that there is nothing worse than a reformed rake.JMJ + OBT
May Our Lord bless you, PauloFreire2, and may the prayers of the Blessed Virgin strengthen you and draw you closer to the Heart of Christ.
Are you aware that Fr. Corapi was also at one time a millionaire who made his fortune in the Los Angelos real estate market, who partied with movie stars and musicians and hotshot politicians? And that he lost everything because of a cocaine addiction and lived on the streets, eating out of dumpsters for some time? And that he experienced a remarkable conversion in his 30s, and eventually went on to be ordained a Catholic priest by Pope John Paul II?
There’s a lot to this man; to better understand his personality and “style” I think you should listen to an audio recording of his conversion story:

Dear PauloFreire2, Please send me an invitation to whenever it is that you might consider turning your imaginations into reality and truly “hitting him”. I want to be there to watct the reaction of this truly great U.S. Army veteran and current apostle among us who lives alone in the mountains of Montana with his hunting dogs and his beloved guns which he thoroughly enjoys hunting in the high country with several weeks a year. I assure you, as I have heard Fr. Corapi in person talk about in the last year, he does defend himself.“He’s totally present when he speaks.”
To be honest (not that I’ve lied to any of you…yet), I get so angry listening to him, I can imagine myself hitting him. It’s an unpleasant thought, granted, but the guy is extremely offensive to me. But, I can also imagine Sister Angelica very carefully and deliberately selecting him for her show. She too, at times, was a bit cranky and ‘in-one’s-face’ with her righteousness. No offense intended toward anyone. I simply believe Catholicism benefits more from taking on the face of kindness than one that barks orders and hollers judgment in people’s faces. Corapi had better have his personal act together to be able to live what he preaches. Something about ‘don’t throw rocks if you live in a glass house’ comes to mind whenever I hear or see him barking at the world.![]()
It’s not what he says so much. His “teachings” are nothing more than the teachings of the Church.Okay, please give me some examples of his teachings that you find so inspiring. What specifically has he said that’s so enthralling?![]()

And I will accept all bets (mine on Father Corapi, of course). 100% of all proceeds will go to support Fr. Corapi’s seminarians.I would love a ring-side seat!!!![]()
When I saw this reply I got a flash in my mind of Father Corapi reading this and laughing in that deap belly laugh kind of way.And I will accept all bets (mine on Father Corapi, of course). 100% of all proceeds will go to support Fr. Corapi’s seminarians.
I love that line, too. It’s powerful! It goes like this:My favorite thing is when he says we all will die, and we are going to go to Heaven or Hell.
Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father except through Me.”He speaks the Truth.
Anyone who can’t stomach what he is saying is rejecting Truth. Period.
Yes, his voice is…unique, but that has* nothing* to do with the message. The message is 100% Catholic. So if you don’t like what he says rather than how he says it, you need to do some serious soul searching, my friend.
I personally love him, and would gladly listen to him speak all day every day. It would do my soul good, as it always does when I hear him. In fact, I make it a point to listen to him every morning on EWTN radio online.
my favorite Corapi line is when he quotes scripture at the end of most of his programs and says “Well done, good and faithful servant!!!” It really makes me look forward to hearing it from Jesus!!!I love that line, too. It’s powerful! It goes like this:
"In the end, forever, you and I will be in heaven or hell. Period."
Absolutely. Thanks for mentioning it. I have some of his CD’s. I’m going to find that clip on them (I’m sure it is on one of them) and put just that clip on my desktop. Then, with just a mouse click, I can hear it whenever I need it.my favorite Corapi line is when he quotes scripture at the end of most of his programs and says “Well done, good and faithful servant!!!” It really makes me look forward to hearing it from Jesus!!!
You call your post a small correction. What are you correcting? I don’t think anyone posted that he was a “combat” veteran. Not all veterans are “combat” veterans. I salute Fr. Corapi for his Army service - even if not nearly as much as I salute his current military service (in the Church Millitant). I proudly serve under his command.Small correction.
While Fr. C. did enlist in the Army and volunteer for the Special Forces, he was injured during training. Whatever it was, it was bad enough that he was unfit for combat. So, he spent his time in some sort of support unit. (I think in Germany, but I may have that part wrong.) In any case, according to his conversion story he is not a combat veteran, but he was a volunteer enlistee during Vietnam.
I think IntheWilderness is referring to post Al Masetti made that says,You call your post a small correction. What are you correcting? I don’t think anyone posted that he was a “combat” veteran. Beyond that, your info does appear accurate.
I think that Father Corapi is amazed and stunned at what he has become.
He was in combat in Vietnam; then he made a lot of money; then he lost it all and was in the gutter; then he received the charism of preaching. It’s as if the planet is spinning out of control. And he must be amazed at looking on at his situation.
Thank you, Patrick. I stand corrected.I think IntheWilderness is referring to post Al Masetti made that says,
