Yep. After all, who cares about the kid in question? Why doesn’t the brat have a job yet? 😉
How dare a two year old with a gay dad try to get into a daycare. Why doesn’t she go out and get a mom and a straight dad like normal kids. The nerve of some people.

I submit that the kid with 2 Dads has MORE need of Catholic education. Don’t the people in charge GET that?

How dare a private daycare uphold Christian values. They should drop their religious beliefs altogether and conform to the secular culture.

Seriously? You can disagree with the choice made by the parents, but why should the child have to suffer? The child is at NO fault here.

This kind of discrimination sickens me.
It’s disgusting. I somehow think Jesus would shout “Hypocrite!” at those banning the kid. Our Blessed Lord created this child, therefore, she deserves any healthy exposure to Christian values available. Since she can’t get that at home, **she is in more need. **

The solution is right here: **13 Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them.14 Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” 15 When he had placed his hands on them, he went on from there.

Why do people keep saying that the child is being harmed or punished? Are there no other day cares and they are locked in a cage during the day or left to wander the streets?

Since when is not getting exactly what you want harmful to someone else?

Lets try an experiment. I demand everyone who says it’s punishment or harmful to the child to give me ten thousand dollars, if you don’t then you are harming my children. What? Since I already own a house and can feed my family you refuse? How dare you discriminate against me simply because I make a good living. It’s for the kids your heartless people.

Now what if I said I’m gay and say you refused to give me money to support my children? All the sudden I’m a martyr and bigots want to take food out of my kids mouths.

Where exactly is the harm to the child again? In reality is it not just that it harm the men being able to do whatever they want? Two completely separate things.

He IS a single parent. The fact that he does not want to enroll the child as a single parent indicates that he wants the school to recognize his same sex ‘marriage.’ It cannot do that.
Jim, I agree with you here… But how does the Bishop fit into this equation? If it’s not a Catholic school within his diocese, then why voice his opinion? 🤷

…I don’t get it.

Maybe this child would have been taking up a spot that could have been used by a child whose parents ARE faithful Catholics who ARE obedient to Church teachings.

To be honest it’s just another way for the LGBT lobby to score points against those mean Catholics. Lets show the sheep how Catholic Bishops want to harm kids.

So it is one of the Mexican Archbishops Catholic schools then…?

Yes, as for the publicity part of it… But the Archbishop did initiate it though by commenting on it first. Right?

Exactly.
Mary.
Who needs that “spot” more: the child with access to all our beliefs and values or the one without? I say, law down rules regarding parental involvement/participation but accept the kids. I’ve been on the fence on this one, but it seems to me that “need” here is about so much more than basic childcare.

One of my acquaintances lived with caregivers who were in a same-sex relationship (they notably had never come out, but in later life she confirmed the widespread notion of the relationship’s nature). She got a full Catholic education, and the last I know, she was happily married. Of course the big difference is that her ‘parents’ never openly presented themselves as her two moms…

The school asked the parent to present as a single parent and he refused so he made the choice himself of what was most important to him.

As I understand it when the girl was first denied entrance to the private school, Archbishop Cabrera had made a comment about her deserving an education and liberals crowed about how the Archbishop agree’d with them. The issue was that his comment was taken out of context. He said that she deserved an education, but that schools should be allowed to follow their own ideology regardless if they are Catholic or not.

So it sounds like the LGBT lobby dragged his comment in as support from a Catholic Archbishop, but left off half of his statement. They tailored the message to what they wanted and the Archbishop had to correct their misrepresentation of part of his statement,

This is like a Catholic Archbishop agreeing that Hobby Lobby should be able to follow their ideology and not have to provide contraception under the HHS mandate. It doesn’t matter if Hobby Lobby is Catholic or not. We can’t only standup for when Catholics do something right. Catholic ideology should not stop at the church door as we are called to live out Church teaching in all of our daily lives.

Well, if the Bishop said he supports ‘private’ schools rights to decide then he’s right on spot. But if the Bishop said he supported the widespread ‘political’ view of denying kids with gay parents then he’s wrong.

…we should probably get some clarification on this before we start throwing opinions about wildly.

Mary.
He doesn’t see himself as a single parent. In other words the school asked him to lie and he said no. So you are right, being truthful is important to a lot of people.

ETA: Same sex marriage is legal in Mexico City so according to the state, he is not a single parent.

Or, to put it another way, he wanted the school to pretend he was “married” to another man and he said no.

If both parties are allowed to be truthful and to act according to their own principles, then he would just move on and choose another school. It is his insistence that the school buy into his fiction that caused the problem, not the school’s decision.

So, if I pass a law stating that light in the 475 m wavelength will no longer be called blue, but will instead be called red, then you will obey and say that the sky is deep red?

Law does not define truth regardless of how you try to redefine words.
