Trump simply is fighting; that’s what people like. Look at all we end up in this country? People like his fighting spirit.

Trump *said *this. Trump *said *that.

All political candidates are prone to dissemination, backsliding and falsehoods. What gives Trump’s words any greater weight than any other candidate?
Because he is still thought of as a nonpolitician.

Just like the value of a new car as it rolls off the lot, that new shine will fade fast once DT’s formal candidacy gets moving and his lie-abilities start to appear.

ICXC NIKA.

We will see, I don’t appreciate it if Trump has negative words for an honorable man like Rick Perry, on the other hand, he is on target in talking about immigration.

100,000 Somalis or less, are given refugee status in Minnesota and there is Al Franken made Senator and there is the 51st vote for Obamacare, we read the story of Kamala Harris going after the makers of the Planned Parenthood videos, isn’t this logic turned on its head? California, really shifted demographically due to immigration if not illegal immigration. Trump and others are saying enough is enough.

Trump certainly has had some support from Senator Cruz.

In no particular order, Walker, Cruz, Santorum, Trump, Fiorina, Perry, Christie, Jindall, really, a number of good candidates, some have a realistic shot, others don’t.

Walker and maybe Trump are the only ones who have a realistic shot.

Cruz is irrelevant outside his small Tea Party niche. He can fire up the far right like nobody’s business, but his small-tent politics will doom him in a general election.

Santorum is a shrill moralist, a Catholic Jimmy Carter without the folksy charm. This may very well make him the most unelectable choice on this list, which is saying something.

Fiorina is a female Herman Cain, doomed to irrelevance in a few news cycles. Enjoy her while she lasts.

Perry couldn’t keep his own talking points straight four years ago, and–frankly–a bumbling Texas governor helped get us into this mess; I doubt that another one is the solution.

Christie is this season’s Giuliani, a northeastern pseudo-conservative whose overall sleaziness and abrasiveness makes him wholly unpalatable to the general electorate.

Jindal is Mitt Romney 2.0, a largely inarticulate stuffed shirt presiding over a state whose residents loathe him, who decides that this is sufficient reason to run for the presidency.

I hope Donald Trump does not win the Republican nomination. I think the Republican party needs to nominate somebody who for one, can increase the number of Hispanics who vote Republican and if Mitt Romney got 27% of the Hispanic vote, how would Donald Trump do? I wouldn’t much like too see Donald Trump be President.

The only two people I’d vote for are Bernie Sanders or Donald Trump.

I have a huge dislike for the GOP, but if Trump wins the nomination then he’s got my vote.

I love the fact that he is not a politician.

How about when polls show that 70% of Americans are against amnesty??

I really think too, a lot of African Americans would vote for Trump.

Some poll has already come out showing Hispanic support of Republicans has not changed.

Maybe if Cruz were put on the ticket, that would get Hispanic votes, a Trump Cruz ticket has already been discussed. Not all Hispanics are for amnesty either. I think it’s a scare tactic.

So if Sanders is for abortion, you vote for abortion.

I have a huge dislike for the Democrats, pushing same sex marriage, abortion, illegal immigration, gun control, I mean, it sounds more like the opposite of Catholicism.

This is very false on Christie, it really is a shame to slander others. I’m not sure of what the bounds are but we know, these are all choirboys compared to Hillary Clinton.

Democrats are basically for illegal immigration and that is the only way they win, Virginia now could go blue like California, check out the abortion laws in California.

There are lots of non-politicians who covet political power (e.g. Carly Fiorina) that are much less personally and professionally odious than Trump. Why set your standards so low?

Abortion will remain legal in this country until Catholic democrats come to love the unborn more than they hate the GOP

Americans are forgiving and Democrats have won so much from allowing illegal immigration. Katherine Willey just set up her own website addressing Bill Clinton, Donald Trump said this email fiasco with Hillary:
“I haven’t focused on Hillary. In fact, yesterday, in Iowa, I made some very strong statements about Hillary, really for, I wouldn’t say the first time, but they were strong. And the fact is that what she has done is criminal. I mean, what she has done is criminal. I don’t see how she can run, because, if the prosecutors - they’re all Democrats, so they’re protecting her. But if you had an impartial prosecutor and they were honorable - we’re going to find out, but what she’s done is criminal. …what she did is far worse than what General Petraeus did, and he’s gone down in disgrace. I mean, what he did is not as bad as what Hillary Clinton did. And it’s similar, but it’s not as bad. I mean, she got rid of her server. He never did anything like that.”

Christie has faced down the unions, prosecuted terrorists and convicted them, he’s squeaky clean.

Oh, Rick Perry made one error and now, he is a bumbling governor; sorry, doesn’t work that way, Americans are forgiving. He just hasn’t drawn traction yet.

Of course, now, there are allegations that Trump’s first wife accused him of spousal rape during their divorce proceedings, with Trump’s lawyer claiming that “there’s no such thing as spousal rape” (even though every single state has made spousal rape illegal - with the last state doing so in 1993).

CNN Video

But, I’m sure the Trump campaign will state that this came from the “Leftwing media” and is therefore not credible.

Christie has faced down the unions, prosecuted terrorists and convicted them, he’s squeaky clean.
Excerpt from Double Down, a history of the 2012 election:
The vetters were stunned by the garish controversies lurking in the shadows of his record. There was a 2010 Department of Justice inspector general’s investigation of Christie’s spending patterns in his job prior to the governorship, which criticized him for being “the U.S. attorney who most often exceeded the government [travel expense] rate without adequate justification” and for offering “insufficient, inaccurate, or no justification” for stays at swank hotels like the Four Seasons. There was the fact that Christie worked as a lobbyist on behalf of the Securities Industry Association at a time when Bernie Madoff was a senior SIA official—and sought an exemption from New Jersey’s Consumer Fraud Act. There was Christie’s decision to steer hefty government contracts to donors and political allies like former Attorney General John Ashcroft, which sparked a congressional hearing. There was a defamation lawsuit brought against Christie arising out of his successful 1994 run to oust an incumbent in a local Garden State race. Then there was Todd Christie, the Governor’s brother, who in 2008 agreed to a settlement of civil charges by the Securities and Exchange Commission in which he acknowledged making “hundreds of trades in which customers had been systematically overcharged.” (Todd also oversaw a family foundation whose activities and purpose raised eyebrows among the vetters.) And all that was on top of a litany of glaring matters that sparked concern on Myers’ team: Christie’s other lobbying clients, his investments overseas, the YouTube clips that helped make him a star but might call into doubt his presidential temperament, and the status of his health.
Squeaky clean, indeed.
Oh, Rick Perry made one error and now, he is a bumbling governor; sorry, doesn’t work that way, Americans are forgiving. He just hasn’t drawn traction yet.
A presidential candidate isn’t expected to do much but remember his talking points. The fact that he couldn’t even do this simple task speaks ill of his composure and preparedness. As they say: “You had ONE job.”

And, again, he has that BS stink that all Texas politicians have, which only really became apparent after W left office. It provides a ready-made attack ad: The last Texas governor led the US off a cliff; why trust another?

I expect some cringeworthy moral acrobatics and juggling of semantics to justify this in this thread. Buckle up; we’re in for a bumpy ride.

He should call Bill Clinton on how to best handle this. I read that Kathleen Wiley has started a website and is asking all the women who were sexually assaulted and or harassed by Bill to share their stories. Now that could be a bumpy ride!

Considering you have called Christie sleazy and corrupt with no backup, no indictments really just seems to show you speak of anyone in the GOP basically with unbridled uncharitable behavior and not even with factual information.

They aren’t big proponents of Planned Parenthood, in fact, Walker, Perry and Christie all defunded Planned Parenthood, a favored cause of the Democratic Party.

Perry got indicted, I’m surprised you aren’t using that fact.

And Ivanka has already dismissed that charge in that she did not mean rape but when someone effectively rapes someone per attitude, she has already come out and endorsed Trump.
