It is noteworthy that a major publication would be so open with it though. So apparently some (many?) must agree.

An FBI just released a statement saying the same thing.

They also asked the news media to stop releasing information without verifying it.
 
The FBI’s national press office says “we have not officially named anyone and we don’t know where they’re getting that information.”
 
That court building that has been on CNN has been as busy as can be per sky views, so something big does seem to be happening.
 
Now, CNN is saying a hospital is being evacuated, this is getting crazy, I assume because maybe the suspect is a patient in the hospital or maybe it is a threat.
 
Between the Boston bomber and the Memphis letter writer, I have a feeling that this will be a good day for both right and left wing spin doctors. There’s meat and drink there for everyone.

You inferred that. Just as some (many?) conservatives might prefer that a Muslim, rather than a (Tea-Party) Christian, had committed this atrocity. One can always find “some” who believe anything. I have no doubt that the vast majority of liberals and conservatives want the perpetrator to be caught and tried regardless of who they may be.

This is the same CNN that reported a suspect was in custody and quickly backtracked as well as saying last summer that the Individual Mandate was overthrown by TSCOTUS.

I think the quality and accuracy of CNN News has declined slowly but surely ever since its inception.

If you want to discuss these issues they should be in a separate thread. This thread is on the topic of news regarding the bombing. There are at least two posts from the mod asking to keep the thread on subject and not get into the politics.

Is that meant as a serious question?

Some pesticides have been removed from the market because they can be used as neurotoxic agents, things like fertilizer and other chemicals are now tracked more closely. High explosives are under tighter controls.

There is no way to control the components of such a crude device, unless you want to take some common household items off the market.
 
Just a symptom of 24 hour news. Most networks would rather be “first” than “accurate”.
 
Say again, I pray for the people of Boston, there is a lot of confusion here and the poor people have suffered a terrible calamity. I’m sure it’s effecting this.
