Explosions near finish line of Boston Marathon

BOSTON – Two explosions have been reported at the site of the Boston marathon. Some facilities have been placed on lockdown as the incident is investigated.

According to Fox News, Boston.Com reports injuries, I can’t even access Boston.com, it is too busy.

Happened near 3:00 PM EST, so that’s only about 15 minutes ago.

Boston Com did come in finally, Red Letter story at Drudge.
 
They don’t know yet, they are saying gas or generator, however, there were two expositions. Its live on CNN now.

Well, I certainly hope that they are right and that it wasn’t something sinister like terrorism. Regardless, I am going to pray for those who were injured and for the situation in general.

I heard eye witnesses say that there were bags/packages placed on the side of a building that were the suspected origins of the explosion.

CBS is reporting a third explosion, but the police were able to keep it contained.
 
News is available so instantly now, and without being vetted or verified in any way. It is so hard to tell exactly what is going on.

The finish line is always packed with people, cops, runners…we used to go every year when I was younger and went to a ballet studio that was right over the finish line.

As much as I pray and hope that this was just an accident…it’s way too coincidental. One of Boston’s biggest events that draws the most spectators…at the finish line.

It seriously looks like an attack…anyone could have dropped off a backpack. The two explosions look like they could have been intended to cause more damage. Tactics and procedures for terrorism tells us that the initial bomb will go off and the second bomb goes off minutes later when everyone rushes in to help.

However the second bomb went off about 20 seconds later…so either my theory doesn’t hold water or the timing of the bomb was off.

At least 2-dead and 22 hurt is being reported. My prayers are with them also.
 
And reports of police recovering other, unexploded devices from the scene…

Amen. Multiple bombings in Iraq today, in several provinces. Possibility this could be Al Qaeda? The bombings in Iraq are most likely their work.

CNN now showing 2 dead in Boston.

What a terrible tragedy. But let us not jump to conclusions. Many of these initial “reports” are oftentimes false. Let us pray for those who are injured and hurt, and pray for those investigating and protecting us. Leave the speculation for later, when we have more information.
 
Holy Mother, please intercede for us.
Hold the sorrowful, strengthen the fearful,
give aid to all needing help or healing,
assist those who are sick, in pain or suffering,
be with those needing peace, console the lonely,
comfort the lost or hopeless, guard the unborn,
pray for those who are dying or who have died,

Terrible day in Boston. Prayers out to all the victims. Watching the footage of one of the explosions and seeing the smoke from the prior one just seconds before…can’t help but notice the amount of smoke from them. Speculating much about that smoke and the grade of explosive used…
 
My brother was running in the race. He texted me to let me know that he and his wife were safe and at the hotel at the time of the explosions. He finished about 45 minutes before the blasts. That was the first I heard of the explosions.

I’m so terrified. I live 35 minutes from Boston and I have so many friends in Cambridge where this all happened.
