Faith alone! Is it right or wrong?

That sounds decidedly Calvinistic. Lutherans don’t believe in “Once Saved Always Saved,” and are clear that even Christians can choose to reject God’s universal gift of Grace, which was for the whole world.

That’s one of the Lutheran distinctives: they understand every saved person to be saved wholly by God’s Grace alone, received through Faith alone (which itself is a gift), while simultaneously holding that those who are damned are damned wholly because they have rejected God, not because he somehow set them apart for Hell.

Peace with you as well, on this joyous Easter!

Thank you for the clarification…
Yep. You can’t even slip an occasional “curve ball” past steido01 and JonNC. (Just having a “mirth moment”).

Seriously. It’s good to have you (and JonNC) on this forum Steido01.

You folks add a healthy and balanced dimension to the discussions here.

Hello Cathoholic,
I was having conversation with non-denominational Protestants…and we were talking about Martin Luther at that time… 🙂

Good point bsy.

I have had the proverbial exact same conversation with Baptists, E-Free folks, Congregationalists, etc. (Even with Lutherans)

I know exactly what you are talking about!

Don’t get me wrong. Steido01 and JonNC have a few theological differences with me to be sure.

And there are a few Luther quotes that are more than “head scratchers” at least for me.

Basically I was just thanking Steido01 and JonNC for being around here.

If I were a non-Catholic, it might be difficult for me to be here at CAF (but maybe not?).

Thanks for the fine (name removed by moderator)ut bsy.

You are very kind, but I have to give credit to my Roman Catholic wife. If not for her, I likely never would’ve taken a close look at Roman Catholicism, and I would’ve held just as many misunderstandings about your communion as many RCs today do about mine.
