We are saved by faith alone, and not by works. This is upheld by the Council of Orange which declaired anathema anyone who contended that works in any way contributed to salvation.

This discussion is limited to the Letter to the Romans only.James 2:24 says we are Not saved by “Faith Alone:” but by works.
The Holy Spirit who is God and inspired those words to be written is 100% right.
Anyone who says “Faith Alone” saves is 100% contradicting the Bible and the Holy Spirit Who is God!
Hold the phone…if you take any portion of scripture out of the context of the whole of scripture, you may come to the wrong conclusions about what is being said. This discussion is limited to the Letter to the Romans only.
This thread actually should have been closed along time ago since some of the excellent posters have already addressed the OP’s question.Hold the phone…if you take any portion of scripture out of the context of the whole of scripture, you may come to the wrong conclusions about what is being said.
That’s one of the faults of Martin Luther; he latched on to “Sola fidae” and built a theology around it to the exclusion of (many) other parts of scripture.
