So explain the text in that Sculpture of MichaelAngelo. How is this Sculpture, a beautiful piece . that no doubt Don Ruggero has seen in the marble flesh, speak to you,

Techno.

Match you explanation back to the Gospel account that MichaelAngelo was depicting.
Your post is uncharitable.

Please stop using status to make your arguments for you. It is tiresome.

This is a faith community.

One is to argue on the side of truth - unless you are judging others?
Which part of my statements is challenging you?

Responding with a stop doing it, is no response, you are attempting to bully and silence me.

Can I judge the behaviours of others ? Yes! It is written in the Bible we can do as much.

Are your ears and eyes closed if you repeatedly negate a Marion Expert

YES!

So what’s challenging you Mr Chips, in my post?

Let’s see what’s a falsehood , in my post below, given you bought up

‘Arguing on the side of truth’

And btw your comment regarding status, not an argument, just a veiled put down

Your post is uncharitable.
Really ? Another putdown

There is a huge academic discipline of the text in the visual.

How is this Sculpture interpreted? That’s my question.

Why Don’t you have a crack at giving us your text from the Sculpture.

Her “Fiat” would be MEANINGLESS had Jesus not died and risen from death.
There was a “Fiat”, It was not meaningless and HE did die for us. God created Her to be HIS Mother and also ours. God Bless, Memaw

So, you think posters here, in their love of Mary, are not being sincere?

So, you think that posters here, are incorrect, in their knowledge of Mary?

So, you think that the deposit of faith - Sacred Scripture and Tradition - is formed purely by personal opinions?

You think these are correct judgments?

This is my favourite sacred work, ever.

(also too, the miraculous Guadeloupe image that is, well, miraculous!).

👍 x 12

(one for every star on Our Lady’s Crown).
Why is it your favourite? How does it speak to you?! What is its text, for you?

I pray Rosaries that the day will come when people on CAF , as an online community exemplifying Catholic Culture,

Listen to and
Take direction
And instruction

From Priests with specialist expertise in areas beng discussed ie - Marion Theology.

Does anyone here not think Our Lady is well pleased with her son, Don Ruggero? A man that spends much of his life talking about Our Lady to groups of people?
Are Priests like this not a gift to us from Jesus, to enable understanding of His Mother?

Is Our Lady better pleased and better served as Saint #1 , by a man of the cloth who spends, and spent , many years in study and teaching her Theology

Or

By Laity that have read a few books , take chunks of writing from different areas to try to win an argument, without listening.

Let the Holy Spirit guide us. Pray to St Joseph, a powerful Intercessor, and the most. Haste spouse of Our Lady.
Pray to Our Lady that her messages at Fatima:

Reparation
Penance
Prayer
Quit sinning
Obedience to the Church that belongs to her Son

Start being heard and discussed, instead .

The primary message of Our Lady at Fatima was Reparation and Penance

Why are you all missing this?
Well listening goes both ways, but I give you that, we need to listen and so do the people on the other side of the discussion. Don Ruggero may be a very learned man, a very good man, and an excellent teacher of theology, but his word does not cancel out that of the Church and the Saints before him.

All of us here defending devotion to the Blessed Mother are doing so and using discussion points many of which come straight from the Church and her declared Saints. Why is he and many of you arguing that? Why can’t anyone simply say yes, devotion to the Blessed Mother is a great and amazing thing?

I will absolutely and unequivocally proclaim everywhere that devotion to Jesus, to the Sacred Heart, to the Angels, to Divine Mercy and to many others, where the Church has allowed, is a great and amazing thing! If that’s your thing then do it! Not everyone is going to be drawn to the Blessed Mother as we are. But stop trying to tell us devotion to the Blessed Mother takes away from Jesus or is wrong or whatever else you can come up with.

You know funny thing, the thread that started all this was someone asking about their devotion to St Gabriel. Another poster said they have great devotion to St Michael. You don’t see us, who have devotion to the Blessed Mother beating them over the head about it. Saying it is taking away from Jesus. And I don’t see you guys saying boo to them about it.

If you guys really are going to do this, then you have to do it to everyone who has any devotion other than devotion to Jesus.

You are accusing me and others of the things you yourself are doing.

If someone asked me this with apparent sincerity, then I would do so.

But to do so, in the context of this argument, would be to undermine the beauty and power of this depiction.

Oh please, Read my post. Quit being inflammatory. I am speaking to a fellow Catholic, not one of my Atheist mates.

Can you not understand? My post?

Should I become blunter. ( we Aussies can get pretty blunt)

What is it about Fatima and Our Lady’s messages and requests you don’t understand?

Don Ruggero might talk with us on that topic if we give him some respect.

I can only imagine the spume Pappa Francis would face if he were on CAF, if he reiterated what his Priest, patiently tells us.

Nope. You have your knickers in a knot over my post.

So much so, you attack me, rather then reading and understanding my words.

Fatima, what is the Message?

Priests experts in the field- do know a thing or two, and can correct our errors.

Priests are the first people we should be respecting.

Every piece of Visual media we see has a text. Techno put up one such piece. I am interested to know his text, as it relates to the Gospel. The original intention of the artist.

Those who have devotion to Mary, and who have sincerely put forward their faith on here, ARE speaking on behalf of the Church; and the Pope, I firmly believe, would have no problem with devotion to Our Lady, or did you not read the prayer that Pope Francis prayed to Our Lady of Fatima, on the 13th of May.

Stop using Jesus to attack Mary.

You mean because it doesn’t say in the Bible that the dead Jesus was placed in the arms of the Virgin Mary ?

I love and respect MANY priest but I have never met one that puts me down for my lack of “education”, or uses his education against us. They teach and explain etc. Nicely not looking down on us less educated folks… I know I do not have the formal education they do, but I bet I have a library that rivals many. ( I have given a pickup truck of books to the Seminary near Lincoln.) Over the years I have read many books, things written by Popes etc. I don’t think I have ever read a book on the lives of the Saints that didn’t have a strong devotion to Our Blessed Mother. Priests should be teaching us to follow their example. Encouraging us to Love Our Lady. John Paul II certainly taught us that. AND NO ONE has ever taught me to put Her above Her SON !! God Bless, Memaw

You missed my point. Our faith depends primarily on the Passion, death, Resurrection, and Ascension of Christ. If Christ didn’t rise from the dead, our faith is in vain.

What you don’t understand is that God is now bringing out the powerful Queen on the chessboard of life… for the final showdown .
