That motto is a lie that they hide behind.
Nothing more, nothing less. And you just made me chuckle as I remembered an article the BNP published years ago, parading an asian guy around in a union jack flag to show how “they’re not REALLY racists”. (the bit that they kept out of the press is that he wasn’t welcome at any of their party meetings, he was just a dupe who they found useful for the occasional photo opportunity)
Do you think Christ would support xenophobia, racism, bigotry and the like? Or do you think he’d tell the whole EDL lot to “get thee behind me satans”? The beauty of being catholic is that it’s universal and embraces all. So we’re the exact opposite of the EDL, who only embrace anglo-saxons and cans of special brew. One or two “tolerated” black guys who are allowed to stay at their rallies to help with the press image does not make a nice racially inclusive ideology, but it makes them look better on the pages of the daily mail. Pray for peace
(why has no psychic ever won the lottery? Hmmmm. Suspicious.)
With all due respect, I think you are naive. I still remember the cheering millions in every Islamic city in the MIddle East on ABC after 9/11, never to be shown again. It has taken THIS gruesome murder to prompt David Cameron to promise that he would monitor Mosque radical rants in the future. Personally, I see the West as suicidal. A majority Islamic population does not permit dissent. It is no wonder that those Westerners who love their cultures are alarmed, and no doubt some will take their anger to violent extremes if governments do not keep militant Islam in check. Rob

appears to be more outrage at those who are outraged at the killing than there is outrage about the killing itself

Interesting coincidence that they are predicting that “Britons” will be the minority in 2066…that’s exactly 1,000 years after the Norman Conquest…when the majority Saxons were overrun by the Normans (French).

You sound rather pleased about the turn of events, Oldcelt. Maybe if you tried practicing your Christain faith in an Islamic country, you’d have a change of heart. Even in ostensibly “Christian” countries like Germany, true followers of Christ are persecuted today. You needn’t even consider the Islamic rise. And there is no longer safe haven in America under Obama, either. :o Rob

P.S. I see that you are a deist. Who knows? YOU may be safe!

Don’t get upset. I know parts of the UK, England. Now, where can we read about the EDL protesting against non-white people? Because one of the last times they were in the news, it was over another anti-terror protests and the journalists trying to turn a photo into saying this looks like a Sieg Heil. Not to derail the thread, I would like to read where they have had protests against non-white people. I’ll save you the trouble, those stories are probably not to be found. No big deal. I just wouldn’t exaggerate the wrong these people do.
I know parts of America too. Never been there, but I know what an agenda based media tells me about it. I’m sure if I lived in America I’d see the US differently, i’d see the bigger picture as it were.
My own brother (admittedly a bit of a “leftie” lol) often turns up to demonstrate against the EDL rallies with the anti-fascist lot, so I’ve seen first-hand the photographs and the mobile-phone videos of the EDL in action. You can also find out their true beliefs easily just by joining the various political forums online and asking them. They’ll deny being nazis by name, while espousing a very neonazi ideology of what britain should be, but if a horse tells you it’s not a horse and then runs the grand national, it’s a horse.
To RAJCL, that’s a good point about the tv news after 9/11. I suppose it shows that militant jihadism is more popular in some countries than it is amongst British Muslims who for the most part are good decent British people.
Furthermore the EDL doesn’t actually want to keep militant Islam in check, it wants to send the foreigners “home”.
The nazi types such as EDL and BNP are awful people. Using these evil jihadists to make themselves seem reasonable by comparison just makes them worse. Two wrongs don’t make a right. Jihadist terror acts are beyond abhorrent, but they don’t justify Nazi thug organisations. If that makes Broom think I’m angry or RACJL think I’m naieve then I can live with that. I hate the EDL as much as I hate Jihad against us.

On a different note Broomwaggon I was really happy to see about that abortionist-turned prolife campaigner that you posted earlier. Even the baby killers can see the error of their ways so maybe there is hope for mankind to sort itself out.

To mis-quote Tupac: pray for peace in the middle east and on London’s streets.

Oldcelt, do you know the difference between “Britains” and “Britons”?
Britains is the name given to inhabitants of these isles by the Romans.

Much later the “brittons” (Bretons?) invaded the uk as you stated. If you are a Celt as your name implies then you truly are a Britain, not a briton.

Peace

Those Royal Army Soldiers or however you call them may say things but to an extent, that seems like Banner, just like you have between those in Newcastle, Liverpool, London and yes, I know they have a lot of names. You rather thoroughly have Catholics and Irish all over England.

The definition of “religious war” per wikipedia is interesting in that regard but that’s off topic, I would encourage people to read it.

Sorry Broomwagon forgive me for asking a dumb question. When you say royal army soldiers, are you refering to the British Army? Or have I missed a post somewhere in this thread?

Cheers.

Good to talk to you, BlaconPaul, well, I’m sorry if we see this differently, the crime is so egregious in itself.

The EDL DO NOT MAINLY PROTEST ISLAMIC TERRORISM! THEY MAINLY PROTEST AGAINST NON-WHITES LIVING IN THE UK!!! They aren’t defending us from the very real threat of jihadism that a minority of Muslims pose. They are trying to start a race war and ethnically cleanse the county til only Anglo-Saxons remain here, JUST LIKE THE BNP!!!
What counrtry are you from? Have you even visited the UK ( reading about us on the Internet doesn’t count)?
Ah but you suffer from two great disadvantages in discussing what happens in the UK:

  1. *]you live in the UK;
*]you have (at the very least) the faintest idea what’s going on.

I think Chester is a really nice place by the way.

Broomwagon Don’t get me wrong pal it was a disgusting crime and I sympathise so much for the dead soldier and his family. I’m sure we all prayed for them at mass this weekend
I don’t like jihadist extremism anymore than you. . If I’ve seemed a little angry or forward during our exchange of opinions please forgive me. I mean you no offense personally. I am just scared of what these kind of terror attacks will turn this once peaceful nation into. I can see the backlash reaction going too far and turning us as bad as the people attacking us.
Issues like this create such strong feelings. And i fear that those feelings will be jumped on by politicians and misused and misdirected and end up causing things to get a whole lot worse. I can imagine the army doing a “bloody sunday” on a mosque to get revenge, and thus spawning a new wave of jihadist attacks against us, all the while the government will be using this new “war on terror at home” as an excuse to re-write law and turn us into even more of an orwellian police state than we already are. (this is how the rest of the world percieves whats been happening stateside since that awful attack on 9/11, with all the acts and amendments theyve passed and freedoms eroded since. I hope we don’t go this way.)

And you’re right we see it differently but I guess that’s just how it is.
I hope we can chat again on here another day.

Peace

Shalom kaninchen,
Thanks lol I suffer both gladly. You’re right, Chester is a nice place to live, sometimes I forget how lucky I am to live here.

You’re lucky, I live in the most dangerous area of England, the deepest, darkest suburbia known, to some, as ‘Midsomer’.

As in midsomer murders on the tv? 😉
I didn’t think that was a real place!

The ‘Midsomer’ villages/towns are set in a kind of arc of outer suburbia - Oxfordshire, Bucks, Hertfordshire and so I joke that I live in ‘Midsomer’.

England beat the Nazis. Xenophobic opportunists is your spin.

You further cast dispersions on others saying they aim to increase violence. You have no backup for that.

The act of that Militant was a heinous act committed that the Nazis never did in England. Good for these marchers to protest. I hope if an American soldier were ever murdered in a heinous way like this, people would not be afraid to protest because of your name-calling.
Cheering for a fascist organization? WOW!!

Newcastle, far away from London and not the same way, is where many of these protestors hail from. And from where this protest evidently happened.

They are smart enough to know Open Borders leads to things like the murder of Lee Rigby.

Good for these protestors to remember their fellow man.

Sorry some people might object to protests against a British soldier being beheaded in the streets of London. 😦
Fascists.

The problem is not the young man who was brutally killed. The problem is the racist, xenophobic fascist taking advantage of a tragedy to press for their “race war”.
