I don’t pretend to be an expert on art history, but offhand I cannot think of a single representation by a Western artist - of any era - of Mary as either dying or dead.
I was saying the same until post 31 above . . .

To further humiliate the victim. I believe that’s how crucifixions actually occured. The reason we see Our Lord with a cloth covering him is for modesty’s sake. The Apostle who was crucified upside down was St. Peter.

She died and then was assumed into Heaven by the power of her Divine Son, Jesus.
