Or most people just type fast and don’t think a big deal needs to be made out of a word. Im sure GOD is more worried about peoples salvation than wether or not a word is capitalized. Also too, Im not sure if you noticed, but in my other posts, I almost always capitalize it. Obviously it was a typo.
But okay then… Moving on…
Whether or not it was a typo, we were kindly reminding you of a simple thing. Please try not to be so defensive next time. You may be a non-Catholic on a Catholic forum, but nobody is trying to gang up on you, okay? 🙂

God bless you.

Who ever said I was a non-catholic?
Lets not make assumptions now.

 That’s fine if you’re Catholic, but Catholics don’t rely solely on the Bible (sola scriptura). You’re right to say we haven’t added anything and we haven’t taken anything away, though! 👍

God bless

The things that protestants have taken away are real scripts from the original bible. They were wrong to take them away. I don’t think god intended the bible to be picked and chosen.
Either you believe and follow it all, or none of it. I don’t think god said “okay, pick and choose what you want to believe and the rest will be fine.”

When I read the bible, i want the full original text. Nothing added, nothing taken away.

100% true.

Good, so you Catholic? 🙂

Catholicism a cult? What a load of garbage. There is a Biblical and historical basis for all the Church’s teachings. scripturecatholic.com/

Upon death, each person will have to face God for his or her sins.
Amen!!! That is one of my favorite sight to tell people to find out what we believe.

God will hold each person accountable for the knowledge they have, but also for their love or lack of charity.

100% true.

You could say that. I just follow what the original FULL bible says. So yea, techincally thats catholic and protestant at the same time. I wouldn’t really label myself as one or the other though. Upon further thinking about it, I’m just a ‘christian’. I try to be christ-like and just use my knowledge to help me learn more about the bible. I don’t really think I belong to any certain denomination though. Just the bible. All denominations are really is just added or taken away scripture and then their own interpretations/following on it. I just follow the original bible (the one god would want im sure). Nothing added and nothing taken away. Alot of people like to pick and choose what to believe but I don’t think thats right. I don’t think god had the bible made so people can choose what they want and not want to believe. I think its more like a, you believe it all, or none. Or at least thats how I think god would perceive it to be. Because to me having different denominations who follow different ways is like somebody going to god saying “okay, ill follow these rules that you made, but not those other ones”. And each denomination swears on their life that they are right. Well, I think anybody is right if they just follow and trust in the original full bible. The one god would have published.

The original Bible was the Pentateuch (Torah) put together by Moses. Everything else was added later.

Okay. Well thats not what I was talking about. Hopefully she’ll know what I mean.
How do you know it’s not what you are talking about? 🙂

Someone has to tell you this particular book of Scriptures is the Holy Bible. The Catholics have one list, the Protestants another, the Mormons another and the Jews still another. And the Muslims say all of them are wrong.

Hint: Go with one that contains the Gospels, and among those, choose the oldest canon.

I know what you mean. 🙂 You have meant to show me you are unsure of what you believe (perhaps that’s why you are here), and you have again made a few more typos in your last post.😛

I will pray that this forum will be more helpful to you!
God bless.

Edit: I hope you don’t mind I peeked at your profile and it says you are a student. Are you a college student or a high school student, might I ask?

First off, I’m not saying anything about what I think. I was stating what most protestants think.
I definition of christian is:

–adjective
1.
of, pertaining to, or derived from Jesus Christ or His teachings: a Christian faith.
2.
of, pertaining to, believing in, or belonging to the religion based on the teachings of Jesus Christ: Spain is a Christian country.
3.
of or pertaining to Christians: many Christian deaths in the Crusades.
4.
exhibiting a spirit proper to a follower of Jesus Christ; Christlike: She displayed true Christian charity.
5.
decent; respectable: They gave him a good Christian burial.
6.
human; not brutal; humane: Such behavior isn’t Christian.
–noun
7.
a person who believes in Jesus Christ; adherent of Christianity.
8.
a person who exemplifies in his or her life the teachings of Christ: He died like a true Christian.
9.
a member of any of certain Protestant churches, as the Disciples of Christ and the Plymouth Brethren.
10.
the hero of Bunyan’s Pilgrim’s Progress.
11.
a male given name.
Those vague definitions can also apply to anyone who believes in Jesus but in their own way by how they interpret Scripture. Example, He’s lower than the Father or not God at all.

Mhm, thats true…

Thats my point. They all say their is right. Well thats fine. But whenever I read the bible for myself, I have my own thoughts on things. It doesn’t make it wrong or right. Every person has their own interpretation on it.

Every person has their own interpretation on it.
Catholics do not promote this idea. God wanted unity in His Church. It’s not very easy to have that when everybody is going off of their own interpretation of Scripture. That’s why our bibles are Church based.

I have been to another forum site where I witnessed a lot of offensive talk about catholics by other christians. They make fun of the saints and the Pope and call us idolaters for “worshipping” Mary (I know we don’t actually worship her). Do you think that these people will have to be held accountable for their offensive words when they die and come face-to-face with the very ones they have mocked?
Big surprise for them when they find Heaven to be liturgical, not a praise and worship festival.

“But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned,” (Matt. 12:36).

Matt. 12:32 – Jesus says, “And anyone who says a word against the Son of man will be forgiven; but no one who speaks against the Holy Spirit will be forgiven either in this world or in the next.”

Heb. 12:14
14 Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.

The biggest obstacle to overcome as a protestant coming in contact with the Catholic Church is PRIDE. The idea that one has been wrong for so many years is what I believe keeps many people from acknowledging that Christianity truly resides in the Catholic Church, and has for 2000 yrs.

Exactly your post proves nothing. They all claim their right and each denomination can use those scriptures to back themselves up. 👍

I am a follower of the bible. And thats good enough for me. (: I appreciate that you care, but I think its time we got back on topic.

Except that it is clear that Jesus founded only ONE Church.
[BIBLEDRB]Eph 4:4[/BIBLEDRB]
[BIBLEDRB]Col 3:15[/BIBLEDRB]
[BIBLEDRB]Mt 16:18-19[/BIBLEDRB]
[BIBLEDRB]Mt 18:17[/BIBLEDRB]

You cannot claim to follow “just the Bible” unless you remove these verses which would otherwise require you to locate and follow the true Church. But of course, upon doing so, you are no longer following “the whole Bible, nothing removed.” 🙂
