I remember your post. Thanks Bookcat.Thread on this subject of “short prayers” per se - that I started: forums.catholic-questions.org/showthread.php?t=889433
If one scrolls through the thread I linked there - I have various posts regarding such “short prayers” in ones spiritual life.I remember your post. Thanks Bookcat.
I also like “Jesus, I trust in You.”Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the living God, have mercy on me, a sinner.
Thanks for these prayers. Yes, I didn’t realize at the time the complexity of the term and that I could have probably have better used the ejaculatory word instead. But not all is lost. Some have learned a new word or word usage.I too thought of the other meaning of ejaculation when I first read the thread title, but I knew what the OP was really referring to. I understand that there would be some *confusion *over the use of this word, as not everyone has heard it applied to a type of prayer. But I don’t understand the large number of *complaints *here about the use of this word. There are many words in English that have two or more different meanings, and “ejaculation” is one of them.
Anyway, there are some great prayers here, and this thread has inspired me to think more about short ejaculatory prayers for use in my own life, and to teach to my children. Here is one that I say sometimes, particularly if I feel scared or threatened:

I think you did fine with the word usage. As you say, some people have learned a different meaning of the word. And I would have thought that most people knew that ejaculation can mean something like “verbal exclamation,” even if they hadn’t heard it applied specifically to prayer. Thanks for these prayers. Thanks for your video blog. I liked the one on Mother Angelica and Arinze’s.I think you did fine with the word usage. As you say, some people have learned a different meaning of the word.
