Which Henry V - Brannagh or Olivier?
Whoops, sorry. I forgot Olivier did Henry V, too.

I was refering to the Branagh version. It is soooo good. That man has more theatrical talent in his little finger than most in Hollywood do in their whole bodies. He’s absolutely brilliant.

This will sound very, very funny, but…

BROTHER SUN SISTER MOON!

Another one of my favorites, although I prefer the Italian version with the opera music over the english version with the folk songs. Good movie either way though.

Actually, I listed it in my previous post as being one of my favorite movies of all time (post #33 in this thread). It is phenominal! I remember the first time I saw it. I had seen other versions of Hamlet before, like the Mel Gibson version. However, when I saw Branagh’s, which is Hamlet in its entirely, I was finally able to say “I get it!” With other versions, which always had a considerable amount cut out of the original work, all I could say was :ehh:. Everyone in it was so good that I forgot I was watching Shakespeare.

I also really liked the fact that they didn’t make the American actors in it try and perform with English accents.

I have to agree - Branagh’s Henry V was great, although Olivier’s is no slouch either.

But the real hero has to be Shakespeare - not only did he include scenes in French in an English play, but for those of us who know a little coff coff of the language there’s one or two linguistic puns in them as well.

And even if you don’t speak a word the French scenes still work marvellously.

And the genius of the scene where Henry in English tries to communicate with Katherine who speaks only French - fantastic! What a brilliant man he was.

For Religious:
The Passion of the Christ (The best of em all)
The Ten Commandments
The Story of Jesus
The Gospel of John
Jesus of Nazareth

For Non-Religious:

LOTR trilogy (Loved it a lot)
Gladiator (I especially loved the script)
Braveheart
The Last of the Mohicans
The Longest Day (Oldest war film I love, D-Day at its most accurate)
Schindler’s List (emotionally touching)
Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children (Best CGI movie I’ve seen)
The Four Feathers
Star Wars Classic Trilogy (Hated the new Trilogy)
The Last Samurai
