I have more “favorite rock songs” than I have favorite saints.
But I am particularly fond of Guided by Voices, “Choking Tara (Creamy Version)”.

We must be contemporaries, more or less. I liked Bob Seger a lot back then (still do). Turn the Page, Feel Like a Number, Nutbush City Limits (a cover, but he did a great version), all favorites.

I remember seeing him at Madison Square Garden. It was a great night. Went with a bunch of friends, and the lovely Wanda from Queens. I wonder how she’s doing these days…

Hi, Boldlygo, I like both of them. I first heard “House of the rising Sun” maybe 10 or so years ago. It’s oddly the theme song of an Italian Film called “The Best of Youth”.

Yesterday was David Bowie’s birthday.

Let’s Dance came out when I was in 8th grade. It was one of the songs I had taped from the radio.

I also liked Duran Duran. Hungry like a wolf and Rio.

My daughter likes The man who sold the world, but the Nirvana version.

Oh, I stopped liking Hungry Like A Wolf when that woman killed her children to that song. Ugh.
Farrah Fawcett came out in the miniseries about it. Only one child survived the shots into the backseat of her car. She wanted to be with a married man. Even during the trial, killer tapped her fingers to the song as it was played for the jury. It had been blaring in the car.

Well, thanks so very much for ruining the song for me and, by extension, my misspent youth. 😭

j/k, plus I enjoy CCR a little bit more now.

Perhaps. I am actually in my early 20s. I like a lot of older rock, along witth some of the newer stuff.

Not even close. I saw Seger at the Garden in maybe 1977? Something like that. I’m well into my fifties.

Milli Vanilli!

and the pièce de ré·sis·tance …

The BackStreet Boys!!!

🙂 🙂 🙂

(I hope I don’t get banned for this.) 🤔

Whoever actually sang for Milli Vanili should have become famous. I feel bad for the two men. One, I think committed suicide.
