Not seeing where you see the press are blaming the NRA. Seems pretty plain from the article linked they’re referring to Daesh inspired terrorism.

Now if you want to say the NRA and their bought and paid for politicians may have made it easier for radicals like Farook and his wife to legally obtain weapons that wouldn’t be inaccurate seeing as the NRA has opposed all manner of gun regulation. Which even as a proud gun owner I’ve always frankly found ironic given the wording of the second amendment.
 
To me, this just seems like semantics. We’re at war; people get murdered. That’s what war is. Are covert actions behind enemy lines any more horrible than killing civillians with drones? I don’t see how one form of murder is inherently more terrifying than the other form of murder.

It’s definitely an interesting development, though, as far as this particular war goes.

The NRA doesn’t have to rely on buying politicians, the vast majority of Americans oppose Australian or Great Britain style gun control. It’s the gun control side that has to rely on big money donors like Soros and Bloomberg buying politicians.

As do I. But that doesn’t mean some form of regulation, or probably more effective background checking with a waiting period wouldn’t be beneficial. And that is far from UK or Australia style restrictions while still being helpful. When a guy like Jared Laugtner for instance can get his hands on guns legally there’s a problem.
 
The FBI could not restrain themselves any longer - they had to squeeze the terrorist attack label into the investigation. They tried tho - gotta give them credit for that. The word from above was spin this as workplace violence - do not call it Islamic terrorism. Call the two dead terrorists a “young couple”. He had an argument with a co-worker a week or so ago. So we have to refrain from trying to link the obvious. Ain’t gonna work Obama. just ain’t gonna work this time.

Mrs. - if she is a Mrs. - came from Saudi Arabia but the Mr’s family did not see much of her. She wasn’t very sociable. Definition: she was covered in a Burka to include a mask over her mouth and nose so the only part left was a pair of eyes. Her husband preferred her like that - he liked it! Talk about putting a bag over your head! Never mind, someone might misunderstand that. Well, Mrs liked Facebook and decided to message the big Kahuna, no offense intended to the Asian Pacific people. She pledged her allegiance - how touching reaching out to the great leader of ISIS. She must not have ever read Dr. Spock because she abruptly left her little baby daughter to a “Grandma” that lived in their bomb house while she went with Hubby to kill innocent people. Nice young couple aye? Loving mother.

Now all the suffering, heart broken, can bury their loved ones and try to pick up a life and continue. Parents, spouses, children, siblings, cousins, friends, coworkers - broken hearts. Because why?

Has President Obama really been protecting America? Contain ISIS - restrain, curb, stifle, etc. That doesn’t seem to be much protection. Is that his job? Does he have a great military force he is in charge of that could ELIMINATE ISIS? Some people are guilty of electing him twice but when it comes down to what it is NOW what will it be when it comes SOON? Is it too difficult to get rid of him NOW? No.

Its not going to wait until we have a President, Commander in Chief! Just plan on protecting yourselves as much as possible, with anything you have, wherever you are. Be brave together and protect all. Is this an “alarmist” message? You bet it is!
 
Will Obama invite any of these victimized families to the White House? POTUS needs to admit he’s made a mistake and step up and fix it. It’s the American way.

What percentage of gun owners support and what percentage of gun owners oppose the NRA leadership’s stance on gun control/regulation? Does anyone know?

The difference is pretty clear, unless you want to argue that US drones are targeting innocent civilians. Terrorists targeting civilians is very different than a strategy that targets terrorists and their command structure who intentionally use civilians as human shields. Accidents and double effect killing that is very difficult to avoid is morally different than than the murders committed intentionally to spread terror.

Well he’s had the military launch over 20,000 missiles and bombs at Daesh so far. which is about 25x what the closest of our allies has done about them. Don’t know what more you’d like the military to do since the public will not support putting troops into Syria.

Fat chance of that. If President Obama ever started to apologize for the mistakes he has made, he would not be able to finish before his term ended.

No, you’re right. I just meant that killing citizens deliberately or killing them accidently is equally terrifying. The literal meaning of the word “terror” gets lost because of how the word is used. I like the idea of using it in it’s strictest, most literal sense: that which causes terror. So in that sense, it doesn’t make any difference whether somebody with a bomb strapped to their chest gets on a bus in order to kill random non-soldiers, or whether someones wedding reception is hit by a Hellfire missile. Either way, lot’s of people get killed suddenly and without rhyme or reason, which is a scary, terrifying thing. I mean, you would agree that our military actions terrify the Hell out of civillians in an awful lot of different countries? I don’t mean to minimize what happened to these people or anything, but when we use the word “terrorism” to essentially mean “enemy” we’re really not communicating as clearly as we could. I don’t know.🤷 That’s my two cents, anyway.

I don’t think many world leaders have apologized for their mistakes while in office. Like serious mistakes which they did, not what their predecessors did.
 
For seven years Obama has been in denial that we have a problem with
Islamic terrorists and has sought to shame any American who would
suggest such a thing by labeling them as racists, bigots, or cowards.
I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that the killings in San Bernardino would not
have happened if we hadn’t had this constant drum beat of political correctness
coming from the White House and picked up on by the media and liberals.

The killers’ neighbor didn’t report to the police that she’d often seen
Middle Eastern men bringing packages to the home of the killers and that
they were spending lots of time in the garage.

If she had picked up the phone and called the FBI or Homeland Security
the shootings would have been prevented. But she didn’t want to risk
being labeled a bigot.
Good job, Obama. :mad:
