Probably from ISIS, and ISIS claims as much. However, they were not directed or programmed by ISIS to carry out the attack so far as we know at the present time.

You state: However, they were NOT directed or programmed by ISIS to carry out the attack… How would you KNOW that? You add: so far as we KNOW at the present time.

This is deliberately misleading in order to further your political ideology IMO. As far as we know at the present time.

The fact is both Al-Qaeda and ISIS have called for lone wolf attacks against the U.S. and the West. Read for yourself here and here.
I don’t understand why people don’t want to admit that we have
a problem with Islamic terrorists. How much proof do people need?
There’s something about this refusal to face reality that I am just
not grasping.

Thanks for those links. Maybe those articles will open a few eyes.

I lost which thread it was; maybe it is the Colorado Springs thread,

But if one is born in the US, chances are one will be exposed to Christianity, if one is born in Egypt, one will be exposed to Sunni Islam, individuals will be good and bad.

But apparently, they are saying there really is a problem with Mosques and Radicalization.

A former FBI counter-terrorism expert seemed to say that and that is in the news today.

This is what the Director of the FBI reported at the time. I heard the report on television. What political ideology am I furthering? I’m interested in getting at the truth of the matter and have no interest in advocating the goals of Muslim terrorists or any other kind of murderers.

in other words, you don’t want to call it terrorism?
No not in other words. But I have no problem using more than one word. I have no problem calling it a mass shooting as well as terrorism. But I call the few other examples I gave, of which there are others, terrorism as well. I think Meltzerboy has already spoken well about domestic terrorism. And I don’t limit the ability to execute and spread terror to only middle easterners or middle eastern groups or to sympathizers of such groups. Not by a long shot.

Investigators: Wife may have been driving force in rampage

*Separately, a law enforcement official said investigators are looking into whether Malik was radicalized in the Middle East, where she spent considerable time, and used her 2014 marriage to Farook to penetrate the U.S. and commit jihad. But the official said it is only one among a number of theories that are being pursued.

The two officials were not authorized to discuss the investigation publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity.

While radical Islamic groups at times have mobilized women as suicide bombers, and extremist women may exhort their men to attacks, it is extremely rare in conservative Muslim societies for female jihadists to take part in actual combat, as Malik did.

Malik, 29, and Farook, 28, were killed in a furious shootout with police hours after they opened fire with assault rifles on a gathering of Farook’s colleagues from the San Bernardino County public health department, where he worked as a restaurant inspector.

Former college classmates of Malik’s and others who knew her in Pakistan said that in recent years, she began dressing more conservatively - including wearing a black head-to-toe garment or a scarf that covered nearly her entire face - and became more fervent in her faith.

Former classmate Afsheen Butt said Malik showed drastic changes after a trip to Saudi Arabia in late 2008 or early 2009.

“She used to tell us that this is the real life. We are a nation that has strayed from the right path,” Butt said. “She used to give us Islamic religious literature.”*

It’s hard to fathom how motherhood didn’t moderate any skewed ideas that she might have adopted. She has chosen to leave a defenseless 6 month old child in the world alone. No mother would ever make such a decision in the way she did. I’m desperate to know what is creating these antisocial automatons, both Islamist and westerner.

Blaming the woman? Is this another example of that “Republican war on women” we’re always hearing about? Maybe she was dressed “provocatively” and her poor husband couldn’t think straight.

You’re sounding quite irrational. One aspect of the investigation is the uncovering of the recent history of Malik. She appears to have adopted a far more radical attitude in recent times as a result.

I am beginning to appreciate the phrase, " whistling past the graveyard…" America has been frightened, probably more so than 9-11.

I have never wanted my prayers answered more than now!

It’s actually brilliant satire, but you need an understanding of American politics to get it.

I may be wrong, wouldn’t be the first time…just noticing an awful lot of testy posts and what seem like frayed nerves…

The thing is though, she truly thought she was doing a good thing, she was raised this way, as a muslim and at some point, felt drawn to the extreme side of things, no different than those extreme christians that feel killing and bombing abortion clinics is perfectly fine.

To the terrorist, teaching their kids to hate the infidels and telling them its fine to kill them in ingrained in them from a young age, I watched a muslim kids show not long ago, they had a guy dressed up in a honey bee costume, he was asking 4-5 yr olds what they would do if they came across a jew or christian on the street, they said they would shoot them if they had a gun, and throw rocks at their head if they did not, the ‘bee’ was laughing, praising them for their answers, encouraging this behavior…when you grow up with that constantly being thrown in your face, its a good bet you are going to retain those beliefs.

I would have given it 8.5 out of 10, but unless you use that sarcasm smilie() some people are bound to misunderstand. We don’t know you personally and can’t hear the inflection of your voice here. Another member brought up postpartum depression as a ridiculous explanation and some of the main stream media proposed that as a serious explanation.

The Irish part of me loves sarcasm, but some people are not able to appreciate it when the subject is so serious.
