But what do we do to convince people to open their hearts to the Holy Spirit, when listening to a man who’s comparing his presidency to Rosa Parks or MLK’s service to their county???
Let them wallow in their mire. It’s greed and selfishness that elected him. If their hearts were in the correct place that stuff wouldn’t matter. Remember we now have a president that voted to legalize infanicide. I’m done voting. It’s a total waste of time. I’m going to be too busy figuring out how to get from here to there, when his radical envirmentalism outlaws my car anyway.

I admit, I too feel a bit depressed about this election, as our state just passed the I-1000 (Assisted Suicide Law). Then I’ve thought about what Mother Theresa said about being faithful rather than successful and how God is all powerful.

There is nothing to be despair about. Everything is in God’s plan and will. Things happened the way they do because God’s allow it. As long as we’re doing his will, that’s all it matter. If you despair then you’re falling into the devil’s trap.

I remember a passage in the Bible about how the Israelites demanded to have their Kings, and God knows it was not good but gave them their Kings anyway because they were stubborn. However, He did not leave the the people, because He also gave them their King David. So, there could still be good things coming out of this election if we stay faithful.

God Bless :signofcross:

I don’t understand the cheering outside right now. Aren’t all those people ex-babies, like me? What does it mean? Will it really stop with the unborn and newborn or go from there as it went from three months to six to nine to the tiny premature ones, and soon take the children in diapers, then the schoolkids, or can we still turn around? I want to flee this land.
Maybe I’m just too young to get it but how can anyone dare to bring up candidates’ race as an issue when there are millions of lives at stake? This country has a sickening history, but nothing compared to what is still happening to children. And the cheering goes on. Will they soon go after those who don’t join the celebrations?
I want to flee but how, where?😦

I have been active in prolife activism for several years. Not in front of clinics (the frontlines) but with legislative action, different political groups, etc.

Right now, I just feel like giving up. I can’t ignore the reality of what is going on with our legislative direction - local, state, federal.

Last week I did go to a PP and a man said he was paying for his girlfriend’s abortion because otherwise she was going to through out his “stuff”-clothes, music, etc. And he didn’t deny it was a baby.

I haven’t been on CAF for months. I don’t know where to turn. I can barely pick up a rosary, listen at Mass or utter a short prayer to God.

Thanks for listening.

LL,
Are you taking the sins of others onto yourself?
All you can do is pray for those who chose to kill their babies.
Now we have a president that condones this killing and the entire country will be cheering him on. Pray about that too.

B.O. is our next man in charge.
Now I could join you in this ‘woe-is-me club,’ but I’ve got the Lord on my side. And So have have you. Lift your heart up in prayer and thank God for what the Lord does for you everyday. Smile, God loves you and me. we are the winners!!😃

God bless you. Now go get your Rosary. 🙂

Even now, the Master forms you for his purpose. Even when you suffer, maybe especially when you suffer, You are being remade.

if a blacksmith makes a tool he puts a piece of metal in a fire, pulling it out when it is glowing hot, he places it on his anvil and beats it into the shape he needs it to be, to fulfill the purpose that he has in mind for it. that poor chunk of iron must suffer to be a good tool.

in the same way right now you are in the forgefire, being beaten with the hammer, G-d is shaping you into the servant he desires.

the more it hurts the greater the glory to come, so the decision comes down to this

do you serve G-d because it makes you feel good?

or

do you serve G-d to make Him feel good?

good luck

I feel for you Americans. It seems like a losing battle a lot of times. I not only am the only pro-life member of my family, but also am virtually the only Catholic on my side of the family. I converted three years ago from Lutheranism, thanks be to God, and haven’t regretted it one bit. The hard part of all of this is my mom’s a Lutheran minister, and she’s pretty liberal. Talk about awkward! 😊 😊 It seems I can’t speak up anymore. I recently moved to Calgary with my parents almost a year ago, and my friends back home are celebrating, and they’re Catholic!! Will wonders never cease? It seems the easy way out is to not care, but I find I can’t not care (I suspect a lot of you feel the same way). My conscience is way too sensitive to think otherwise.

You are all in my prayers,
Chantal

Have we all forgotten that Christians have been persecuted since Christ himself was on Earth?

We have had to hide our faith, been tortured, exiled and belittled, but yet Catholicism has endured. Why? Because we are THE Church and our love of the Lord is stronger than any torment we fave on Earth.

We know the real reason we are here.

With great power (our Grace from God), comes great responsibility(NOT to give up) !!

I am just as dissapointed and dissillusioned as anyone else here. My first reaction was to be filled with fear at hearing Obama won.

Fear is the poison of the enemy. Do NOT fear. God IS in charge.

I plan on making sure 1. I am right with God, 2. I raise my children and respect my spouse as God has instructed, and 3. Witness to those that the Lord LEADS me to.

The Holy Spirit puts people in our path for a reason, and many times you will never see the fruits of your labor.
But we need to scatter our good seeds. Don’t let the enemy invade your mind.

We are all attacked harder the closer we grow to God.
God Bless you and Comfort you. You WILL be BLESSED!!!

War isn’t waged with the expectation that every individual battle will be won. That’s unrealistic. Of course the pro-life movement will lose some battles. That’s why war is a series of battles, not just one big battle.

We’re guaranteed to eventually win because we’ve got God’s truth while they’ve got only zeitgeist which passes with time. The problem isn’t whether we’ll win, we eventually will, the problem is all the babies’ lives that will be lost before we win.

Here are some words of encouragement from the Priests for Life website (posted during election day yesterday):

“Ready For Anything,” Fr. Pavone says

“Our movement is ready for anything tonight,” Fr. Frank Pavone said this evening from his New York office, where he and his communications staff are assessing the election returns as they come in and preparing for media interviews tomorrow and the massive national conference call to take place tomorrow night with pro-life activists and leaders.

“There is no possible outcome of this election for which we are not prepared,” Fr. Frank asserted, “and no scenario in which we will not know what to do next. As I have taught across this country, the pro-life movement is winning, and the dynamics by which it is winning go far beyond the political realm. The abortion industry itself is in a state of near collapse, as abortion mills close, the number of providers shrink, and the utter corruption of the industry continues to be revealed.

“Moreover, the voices of women who have had abortions – as those in our Silent No More Awareness Campaign – continue to awaken our fellow citizens that abortion doesn’t solve any problems, but only creates new ones. At the same time, the voices of young people – aware that they are abortion survivors – continue to drown out the frantic, incoherent voices of ‘my body, my choice.’

“This movement is winning. We have worked for the election of pro-life candidates today, and for the passage of pro-life initiatives in various states. We are prepared to work with the public officials who are pro-life; we are prepared to challenge the public officials who are pro-abortion. In fact, those elected tonight who favor legal abortion will not have a single day in office when they will not have to answer the challenges of pro-life people who will ask them why they cannot tell the difference between serving the public and killing the public.”

After all the warnings that God’s chastisement for the sins of our world were imminent, I’m not surprised Obama won at all.

I’m a bit surprised that some people are saying that “when” God’s judgement comes etc., because I think Obama is part of that “when”. He is the precursor, in my opinion, as were the Tsunami, Katrina, and CA wildfires, etc.

I don’t know how many times I’ve looked around and thought, “God, do whatever it takes, just get us off this path of self-destruction”. I know it has to get horrific before we turn back to God as a country. That’s human nature.

If this is the beginning of that eventual change than I welcome it (with trembling). God’s will WILL be done! He brings “all things to the good for those who love Him”. In fact, Scripture shows how the Greatest good ends up coming out of the Worst evils.

I follow Medjugorje, though it is not the basis for my faith, I think it is probably true - that chastisements are around the corner. I expect we’ll be hearing about some of those secrets in the years to come.

Praise be to Jesus! In the end, God wins!

WHAT WILL SEPARATE US FROM THE LOVE OF GOD?

This election???!! I hope not!

I like the idea of making a holy hour. If you can’t pray because you’re spent, let God do the work. Just sit before the Blessed Sacrament quietly.

My husband voted for Obama. I am devestated.
When I show him the CDC website where it explains that there are a million abortions a year, he DOESN’T BELIEVE ME.
He simply says it’s untrue.
When I tell him that Obama was okay with leaving not-yet-dead aborted babies out to die without any care, he doesn’t believe me.
I show him the bill that Obama voted no on.
He thinks I’m misunderstanding. How is that?

Show him this website: www.durarealidad.com. Yes, that’s Eduardo Verastegui, who starred in Bella. America does need to see abortion in order to reject it!

CAUTION: it’s GRAPHIC

Amen, Amen let the cup of wrath be poured out upon a sinful nation,

Lord, hear the blood of the innocent that cries out against us.

Maranatha Lord, Maranatha!

Don’t give up! Take a look at Fr. Frank’s post on the election results: priestsforlife.org/elections/grave-mistake.htm.

If Fr. Frank isn’t discouraged, neither should we be. We might have lost this battle, but the war has already been won!😉

Besides, our greatest focus will now come from education on abortion. Even if it’s legal in our country, abortion won’t happen if the mother doesn’t agree or isn’t coerced. Let’s regroup and concentrate on saving babies ONE at a time, by helping mothers one at a time!

Thank you for posting this website. I have posted it a couple of times. I too think this is a most see for those none believers.

Yellowbird, I second zentik reccomendation on this video how anyone can deny that this is not happening after looking at this video is beyond me. This is what abortion is.

Look, this outcome is not exactly unexpected. We’re allowed to feel bad about it, but it shouldn’t make anyone quit — just the opposite, it should energize us. Today I am putting a pro-life bumper sticker on my car (to replace my campaign bumper sticker). Is there one on your car? Order one online from Heritage House 76. Or join a pro-life e-mail list (I recommend National Right to Life). Or read a pro-life website to better educate yourself on the issue. There’s always something you can do. Anything is better than nothing.

I don’t know if that website will help with this or not (though I hope it will). My mom was saying last night that she couldn’t believe ALL her friends were voting for Obama, no matter what facts she pointed out about him. They just didn’t believe the facts.
I told her that was because this is a spiritual war. There is no other explanation as to why so many good people (not just bad ones) are voting for someone so evil. It is pure spiritual blindness. I wept because I realized that even if McCain won, it was just a matter of time before an Obama character was elected - because our country is racing down the road to hell. Every year it’s worse. Obama was due sooner or later - I’m almost relieved it’s all begun.

Don’t you give up!! Even though so many people are ignorant of or refuse to believe the truth (YellowBicycle, I feel for you), it still counts for us if we stand up and say “NO!” God knows where our hearts are and will reward us if we continue to be defiant in the face of lies, even in small ways like bumper stickers.

It’s so ironic that people have prayed for BO to win and that people are praising and thanking God for his successful campaign. But we know, we know, that the extremist pro-abortion policies of BO are not God’s active Will. And you guys in the States can still fight as long as you guys have freedom of speech! And I’ll be fighting with you in Ireland.
