Thank you for praying for me, Belle. How are you and the baby doing? How exciting for you! God bless you.

Much love,

Oh bless your heart. I just feel so badly for you.

I will continue to pray for you that God in His infinite mercy heals you completely.

May He be with you and comfort you and give you the peace that passes understanding. May He guide your Doctors to make all the right decisions and IF you do, indeed have the surgery, makes it as easy on you as possible.

Is there any possibility that there are new ways of doing this surgery than before? Or is there better pain relief available now?

In any case, you have my continuing prayers…

Oh Sweet merciful Lord, what wonderful things are You building in heaven for this woman!!! In her flesh Lord she feels like this  , but You sure are polishing her soul into this 😃 :extrahappy: :dancing: :bounce:
Father of Love And Mercy, give her the inner strength and peace that she needs, as You guide her through this process. Father your ways are a mistery for us, for in our frail humanity we fail to comprehend that happiness here, has nothing to do with Your plans for us in eternity. I do ask You Father to lend her Your loving and healing hand, be gentle to her, for she is Your beautiful rose-of your heart.

Galilea,

That was a beautiful prayer! I have a question: why do you think God is letting (allowing me) to be sick for so long? It’s been 21 years of nothing but illness after illness - and I’m not talking like a cold, flu, etc. These are debilitating illnesses. I would like to share some happy timees with my family. Why isn’t God letting me do this? I wonder …

I am also praying for you. God bless you!

Continuing in prayer for your light, strength, hope, peace, and healing.

Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us, and increase Your mercy in us, so that in difficult moments we might not despair, nor become despondent, but with great confidence, submit ourselves to Your Holy Will, which is Love and Mercy itself. Amen

Thank you po18 and all those of you who have prayed for me. At this moment, I do not feel like offering up my suffering. I am facing a major surgery (going back to an ileostomy, along with another intestinal surgery). Also, I awaiting biopsy reports on the intestines. My dr. didn’t sound too promising. I know I will not be able to withstand the intestinal surgery. I have had it before and it was so painful! I have had too much physical pain to be able to do this again. I am hoping that God will just let whatever happens, happens. I looked at the surgical outcome (in pictures) and I cried, just remembering what I went through years ago. I don’t have a supportive husband which doesn’t help at all. I just want God to stop testing me for awhile. I cannot do this! Thank you all for listening. 😦 and
When I listen to man, it depresses me. when I listen to God, it edifies me. Some comparison!

Even though you do not feel like offering it up, there is no greater loss than wasted suffering. You are disagreeing with Bishop Sheen, who is praying for you as we speak. Ahem!

Christ’s peace and presence be with you.

You can share happy times if only you decide to. The power is yours, given you by the Lord. I believe that He desires you to share joy with your family, for as long as you live. Just like love, it remains your decision.

How many times have I passed by the cross of suffering without taking it up? But, when the Lord laid it upon me, I suddenly realized that I must embrace it as Christ did His cross. And so, until I utter my personal “It is finished”, I must bear the load using the strength the Lord Himself gives me.

Do you mean to say you have 21 years of not offering your suffering up? Please don’t say it!

The peace of Christ, sis.

NO! I did NOT say that I have NOT offered my suffering for 21 years! I said I’ve had illnesses for 21 years. Right now, I don’t feel like offering it up. And yes, Bishop Sheen wouldn’t be too happy with me. But I do believe that the Lord knows the heavy burden I carry and understands my “feelings” at the moment. I have 2 kids (16 & 19) at home yet. I have a husband (ahem!) that I need to think of. I have household chores, running the kids around for sports, academics, etc. I have to grocery shop, shop for clothing, keep the peace in the HOUSE! That’s a big one. Keeping the peace in the family is extremely difficult. So, po18, I don’t think it’s as easy to “offer it up” as perhaps you “sound”. Padre Pio didn’t look too happy when he suffered with the stigmata. He looked downright ticked off and he talked that way in the confessional as well! So, “I think” the Lord works with our personalities. You, dear friend, just happen to be an especially chipper man who can tolerate severe suffering better than I. I am not being a smart-aleck when I say that either. I truly mean you are better at this than I. You will be greatly rewarded! You are always in my prayers! God bless and please keep praying for me.

Hi mom4truth,

It’s sounding like you’re a fighter. This seems like a good sign.

Which makes today’s Liturgy of the Hours passage that I found maybe seem to be on a bit of a different note, but I hope it helps, and am saying it (psalm and Bible verse beneath) for you as a prayer.

Psalm 15 (16)

The Lord, my inheritance

My body will rest in calm and hope.
Preserve me, Lord, I put my hope in you.

I have said to the Lord “You are my Lord, in you alone is all my good.”
As for the holy and noble men of the land, in them is all my delight.
But for those who run to alien gods, their sorrows are many.
I will not share in their libations of blood. I will not speak their names.

You, Lord, are my inheritance and my cup. You control my destiny,
the lot marked out for me is of the best, my inheritance is all I could ask for.
I will bless the Lord who gave me understanding; even in the night my heart will teach me wisdom.
I will hold the Lord for ever in my sight: with him at my side I can never be shaken.
Thus it is that my heart rejoices, heart and soul together; while my body rests in calm hope.

You will not leave my soul in the underworld. You will not let your chosen one see decay.
You will show me the paths of life, the fullness of joy before your face, and delights at your right hand until the end of time.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.
My body will rest in calm and hope.

Reading 1 Thessalonians 5:23
May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you in every way and preserve your life and your soul and your body without blemish, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

*Dear God, You generously blessed Your servant,
St. Pio of Pietrelcina, with the gifts of the Spirit.
You marked his body with the five wounds
of Christ Crucified, as a powerful witness
to the saving Passion and Death of Your Son.
Endowed with the gift of discernment,
St. Pio labored endlessly in the confessional
for the salvation of souls.
With reverence and intense devotion
in the celebration of Mass,
he invited countless men and women
to a greater union with Jesus Christ
in the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist.

Through the intercession of St. Pio of Pietrelcina,
I confidently beseech You to grant this woman
the grace of health, hope and
comfort in her time of suffering.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now,
and ever shall be, world without end.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now,
and ever shall be, world without end.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now,
and ever shall be, world without end.

Amen.*

Believe it or don’t, I have been a chronic complainer all my life. UNTIL, the Lord gave me something to complain about! Now, I no longer complain. Go figure!

Christ’s peace and healing.

Sweetie, what a question to ask someone, who is not even at the concious level of the donkey, that on his back took Jesus into Jerusalem!!! That donkey was at the right place and at the right time, prepared to serve the Lord, when it was asked of him/her, and to top it off, the calm obedience in which it behaved for the Lord, it is still to be admired. To this day, the Good Lord cannot get something from me, without me kicking and jumping first like a wild beast. Sooo dear one, not even in my wildest dreams, could I ever even have a glimpse of the misteries the Creator has in His eternal wisdom for you.
I can tell you, what all of us christians have faith on; That this existance on earth is very fragile and temporal. The psalms repeat this for us in more ways than one. That eternity is the forever existance that God the Father wants us to focus on, and Jesus, the martirs and the saints have given us witness, that suffering earns us special places in heaven next to our Creator. Now…that being said, Jesus gave us a merciful example of how heavy the burden of suffering can be, to the point that He Himself asked the Lord to remove this scary burden from Him. Sooo you my dear, kick and jump if it helps you release some anguish, as long as you do not take your eyes off what awaits you in heaven :angel1:

Galilea,

Yeah, that was a tough question. As long as I can go kicking and screaming (in the process of feeling like a piece of puke), I guess I just have to do this! As for the donkey - that was one smart donkey. I wonder if Jesus still rides him in heaven? (ha ha).

Thank you, Galilea! Prayers out to you!
God bless,

Hello Mom4truth,

I will pray that God grant you continued courage to handle the illness as well as the support that you need and are seeking from your husband.

Thank you for your prayers, St. Gabriel. I will be praying for you also and include you in my rosaries. God bless you, dear one.

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen

Mom, It’s only mystery because God is mystery Himself, only by faith we may accept it although we don’t understand it completely.
Continue praying…

Compassionate Father, please let it be Your will that strength and healing come to this woman. Please show her Your mercy through this difficult time. Please send Your Holy Spirit to fill her family with love and support for her. And assist her medical personnel with the knowledge to best treat her condition. We thank you in advance for all the blessings that You have for her and her family. We ask this in name of Your loving Son, our Lord, Jesus Christ. AMEN.

Cuddy duck, Sweet Hart:

Thank you both for your generous prayers. Not feeling any better, unfortunately. Still waiting for biopsy report - probably next Tuesday. I’m very tired and sad. Actually, I’m still kind of angry at God for allowing this to go on for so long. I really need a break. Even a MONTH would be so nice. I really don’t think I could stand another surgery(ies). I’d go out of my mind. I’m trying to pray. It’s not easy. But life goes on, doesn’t it? Thank you, everyone, for all your prayers. Today I will offer my pains for all of you who pray for me and our priests.

God bless us and have mercy on us!

Judi
