WIT I believe was Wyoming NOT Wisconsin.

To other news, Spain’s patient, actually a Nursing Assistant is declared Ebola-free.

latimes.com/world/europe/la-fg-ebola-spain-20141019-story.html

So good news, thank the Lord. She must have been treated well.

Note, the officials unfortunately killed her dog, if one sees about Nina Phan, her dog is being kept in a “Metabolic Cage”.

Hopefully, the other afflicted will recover as well.

I think I’m hearing that it is probably unlikely dogs or cats will carry the ebola virus.

The Wisconsin Institute of Technology isn’t some fly-by-night organization, but then again maybe that page was made by a teenager in his/her basement. 😃

At any rate, here is more on the virus mutating and this is coming from reputable Dr. Jahrling, one of the top experts in this field. I think it is a very interesting interview.
WIT? Maybe I’m mistaken but you don’t think research like this looks prestigious?
Brazilian Waxing Can Lead to Homosexuality, Scientists Say
The article by Huggins.

In fact, their articles look pretty bogus all the way around being respectful to all. Is this another one of those satire sites??

And for some good news that is slightly marred by more carelessness from the CDC.

Louise Troh and her family members are ending their 21 day quarantine and are symptom free. I am actually stunned, (in a good way) that she appears to be uninfected. However, I do think it is reckless of the CDC to end her quarantine today. Don’t you think just to be on the safe side that it should end 21 days after she was removed from the apartment?
Thomas Eric Duncan Girlfriend Louise Troh Doesn’t Have Ebola, Released From Confinement
Troh’s confinement was ending Sunday night, along with several friends, family and others who had contact with Duncan after he first became infectious. Ebola has a maximum 21-day incubation period, and the people who interacted with Duncan after he first arrived in Dallas from Liberia will be in the clear.
It’s an important milestone in the nation’s efforts to contain the outbreak and a cause for celebration for Troh. After three long weeks, she will able to have a clean bill of health, leave the house and be done with twice-daily temperature readings by government health care workers. She likened the period to being a prisoner.
“I want to breathe, I want to really grieve, I want privacy with my family,” Troh said in an interview on Friday, lamenting that she was missing Duncan’s memorial service at his mother’s church in North Carolina because of the quarantine. Troh says she and Duncan planned to get married later in the week.
Well I am very relieved for numerous reasons to hear this. How she pulled through is nothing short of a miracle. Thank God! Let’s hope the paramedics receive the same news.

Sorry, I meant to type Wyoming. Looks like your suspicions are correct.

Maybe it is run by teenagers in a basement 😃

… and maybe I need to stop posting while hungover. Doh!

No matter though, unless vox is a kook site as well, I’m very comfortable listening to Dr. Jahrling’s opinions.

More good news!
Madrid (CNN) – Teresa Romero Ramos, a Spanish nurse’s aide who had contracted Ebola after caring for a patient with the deadly disease, is now free of the virus, Spain’s Special Ebola Committee said Sunday.
“Today I’m very happy, because it can be said that Teresa has overcome this illness,” Romero’s husband, Javier Limon, said in a video statement released by a family spokeswoman.
Two earlier tests showed that Ebola levels in the health worker were almost nil, and a third test came back negative.
“The last two measurements were in ‘background’ levels, and there is no significant statistical difference with negative results,” Luis Enjuanes, an expert on viruses, said in a phone interview, in English, with CNN. “If for three times, throughout one week, you are background, background, background, in practical terms it means you don’t have the virus.”

I think it is a spoof site at least the source for the ‘airborne Ebola’ is.

A lot of spoof sites are not making the nature of their articles obvious.

I wish there was a way to save the babies and children in west Africa in advance of Ebola. I am betting there are many willing to take a child or two to save them from this scourge.
:crying:
Save the babies and children from this!

Imagine a sinking ship! Women and children exit first!

Maybe women and children are too numerous.

At least save the babies and children!

Remove the youngest and quarantine them for safety.

Save a generation.:newidea:

In order to save their children from Nazi camps and/or death, Jewish parents hid their offspring by secretly sending them away to volunteers willing to risk their lives for another.

How is this any different?

Nazi death camps

Ebola death camps

One of the co workers of the two nurses infected is speaking out in their defense, stating that the Dallas Hospital was totally unequipped and prepared to handle Ebola.
Having said that, the nurse who flew to Cleveland,I hold her first and foremost responsible, foe any spread of this disease due to her selfish and shortsighted actions! Then,CDC for dropping the ball.It is just a glaring example of the ineptitude of really, pretty much most gov’t run agencies. The fact that this woman was a co worker of an already infected individual, should have been enough to quarantine her!
Maybe the fever caused by the disease induces some form of delerium, as Duncan and the nurse hopped on a plane sick.

That said, the nurses wouldn’t have gotten sick had the hospital been taking it seriously. There were reports of nurses not having full hazmat suits, having to tape holes in their gowns, not having help or supervision doffing gear, as well as hazmat piling to the ceiling and lab samples being treated cavalierly. All in all, the hospital seems to be really goofing it.

We do need to care about the Africans, I heard a figure that we are sending them over $700 million and have sent the troops over there.

We also have to be very wary about what could happen here as well.

I did not watch the interview but I can say with a degree of certainty that we don’t need MORE people to get sick in order to test a vaccine. At this point, we are hearing all kinds of outlandish comments and remarks. Little will seem shocking at this point. Unfortunately, what Americans are probably sensing is a need to think and act autonomously…hoping this Ebola business is not the foundation of uncontrolled civil unrest.
Beautiful, (though I’m sure that you are), I had felt censured by your post above;
So I’ve finally found a replay of the congressional CDC hearing on Ebola which you admitted that you hadn’t heard:
If you slide the control button ~2/3s of the total distance you will come to a Ms. Castor addressing Dr. Fauci and if you try to just listen to Dr. Fauci’s testimony at that part of the hearing you will hear him speak of
“if you have a lot of rate of infection, it takes less time”;

However, admittedly it was my conclusion that because he (Dr. Fauci) and especially Dr. Frieden have been opposed to travel restrictions of West Africans to America, imho they are in favor of speeding up the process of developing a vaccine for Ebola.

Unfortunately, I don’t think that they or Obama are considering even the inconvenience they are imposing on scores at a time of Americans much less the potential of causing kidney or even liver failure in potentially infected Americans even though they may get cured.

Dear Jesus,
please save us from inhumanity.

I read a few hospitals closed in Southern California supposedly from too many non-insured patients overwhelming the system. How many financial hits can our hospitals take for every Ebola scare that occurs? Note, I’m not saying we should cut corners, but I’d like to know what the bill is for one non-insured potential Ebola patient. Ambulance, decontamination, hazmats suits, bio level 4 waste removal, blood work, specialized labor, tracking labor, more decontamination, monitoring costs etc.

If our government won’t restrict flights, how about showing some proof of insurance before boarding?

That sounds like age and gender discrimination; what happened to ‘equal rights’ before the law?

RGCheek,
If you are a man in fear of ebola and want to beat down the line to save yourself…
no one
is in the way.

I understand your point re the hospital dropping the ball initially. My point was more about after the fact. This nurse was not only directly exposed to the patient, her co worker was in isolation with the disease as well. This fact alone should have been enough for her to stay home, with or without a fever.

RGCheek,
If you are a man in fear of ebola and want to beat down the line to save yourself…
no one
is in the way.
So you are saying that you have NO FEAR of Ebola?

Well, if you want to expose yourself to it like the man with the clipboard that is your right.

But discussing the FACTS about Ebola is not about fear; it is about the FACTS themselves.
