Inisfallen:
So reasonable gun regulation is now part of the great global warming hoax and some plot to surrender our sovereignity to the United Nations or something?
No. I am illustrating the liberal agenda.

MORE Government is always the answer.

So reasonable gun regulation is now . . .
We’ve long surpassed “reasonable gun regulation”.

These amorphous nebulous phrases like “reasonable gun regulation” and “common-sense gun laws” are not fooling anybody anymore Inisfallen.

Ah, that old reliable bogeyman, the “liberal agenda.” It’s all related. Gun regulation, global warming, transgendered people in the ladies’ room, and probably the war on Christmas, too.

OK, got it, I get where you’re coming from.

Look, the mood of the country is changing. Some gun rights advocates will have, and will deserve, a voice in the negotiations that are coming.

You won’t.

I should add . . . “Attempt to silence the opposition.”
About 10:10 a.m., police responded to an altercation at Southwest High School in Minneapolis. A male student waving a flag that possibly said “Make America Great Again” was assaulted by some of the several hundred protesters who assembled outside, according to Minneapolis police spokeswoman Sgt. Darcy Horn. The male student sustained minor injuries, Horn said, and the school resource officer is investigating the incident.

I have no interest in banning guns, just assault weapons.
“Assault weapons” are already banned do you mean semi-atomatic rifles?
My definition of an assault weapon is any weapon that is designed to kill scores of people in a few minutes in the hands of an untrained novice.
Just about every gun ever made will fit that definition, a blot action Mosin Magant was made to be a weapon of war, should it be banned too? As macabre as this may be…If a man walks in to a school with a pump action shotgun, a bolt action rifle or a semi-auto, the result will the same, but liberals seem to think that kids will magically survive bullets so long as they don’t come from a scary black rifle.
This rules out the types of guns that dismember people or makes their insides look like a ripe melo
So every gun in existence? If you think a little .556 round is bad try seeing what a .306 or 00 buckshot will do.

Tell that to the ones that lost loved ones in Las Vegas.
Hey we need to bring back the Muslim ban, oh you disagree? Well tell that to the families that lost loves ones on 9/11 and at the Boston marathon! Won’t someone think of the children? When our founding fathers wrote the First Amendment they never could have Imagined radical Islam!
See Conservatives can argue with emotions too.😙

Sure Inisfallen.

Its always about YOU Inisfallen.

Or about “me” when I am discussing something with you.

That’s just it Inisfallen. It is not merely about me.

You gotta get beyond YOURSELF and ME Inisfallen.

You gotta get past “emotional” arguments and FEELINGS-based conclusions that keep centering on YOU and YOUR opinions.

Readers here can read what you said and draw their own conclusions. (I am OK with whatever they draw.)

But the conversation is much BIGGER than you and me Inisfallen.

Now Youtube is censoring content illustrating liberal attempts to silence the opposition.

See it while you can (but now you’ve gotta sign in first.)

I tend to see a distinction between liberal and progressive. Dershowitz is a liberal. So is Turley.
Pelosi, Harris, are progressives.

Call them what you want. “Progressive” used to mean something, years ago, but now it’s just a word people throw around, basically to dismiss and even insult those with differing political believes.

It’s meaningless.

Well, those who claim it seem to think it has meaning. Clinton called herself an early twentieth century progressive. She clearly saw it as different from classical liberalism

Well, she was right. What “liberalism” means today (and as the word is used as a pejorative by conservatives, e.g., “liberal agenda,” etc.) is very, very different from what conservatives mean by “classical liberalism,” which is more akin to libertarianism.

I don’t think there is anything that comforts those who die at the hands of evil.
Well, not those who have died, of course. But those who live? I have had, in my life (sadly), both victims of and perpetrators of gun violence.

I would indeed be comforted by the realization that we are actually doing something concrete to reduce the number of people affected by gun violence.

And it is important to do so. And possible. Without diminishing rights

Second Amendment rights as Heller considers them? I.e., subject to regulation? We’re on the same page, then.
Oh, more than that. Due process rights is another. The call two years ago to prevent citizens on the “no-fly” list from buying firearms, even if they had not be convicted or adjudicated was a heinous attack on the constitution
