Should I think JoshuaIsLord is MORE capable of setting up a country than our Founding Fathers were?
Well they did miss the boat on a few things. Like the continuance of slavery after the creating the constitution and the Bill of Rights. Like the continuance of denying voting rights and other rights to women after creating the constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Or maybe their original intent is that “All MEN are created equal” actually means “All White MEN are created equal” ( Women and Blacks are of no consequence, they are inferior to the White Man )

I would say they did miss the boat on a lot of things. Maybe a lack of superior intelligence came into play?

The Mass Murderer of Las Vegas was a good law-abiding citizen.
.
Most of the Mass Murders that used firearms were good law-abiding citizens until they were not.
.
And here is what I say . . .
Murderer-Police officers were once good law-abiding citizens and officers.
.
Most of the Murdering Police that used firearms were good law-abiding officers citizens until they were not.
.
Do YOU think this gives us grounds to proverbially tar and feather ALL our GOOD officers because of the FEW “bad apples”? Why or why not?

And regarding YOUR quote, do YOU think this gives us grounds to proverbially tar and feather ALL our GOOD citizens because of the FEW “bad apples”? Why or why not?

Yes. And they should be prosecuted and executed without an appeal process. They know the Law better than most. And if another police officer tries to cover it up via “Code of Silence” he should get the same punishment.

Yes that is true.

The answer is conditional.
The FEW “bad apples” need to be weeded out.

The saying is " A few bad apples does not spoil the whole bunch "
when understood in proper context is that if you remove the bad apples they will not spoil the others. If you leave them with the others, they will spoil the others.

JoshuaIsLord on an ALLEGED bad officer (emphasis mine):
And they should be prosecuted and executed without an appeal process.
You just seem to be able to make all kinds of FORCEFUL decisions for other people JoshuaIsLord.

Che, Mao, Stalin, and others thought that of themselves too (only they, unfortunately, were in positions where they COULD do something about it. Fortunately you are just an internet guy spreading his (her?) pernicious ideas.)

Now you are theoretically killing potentially innocent people (our police in this case) while insisting YOU know what is needed better than others.

I guess YOU know their needs better than THEY do (in this case, the courts).

Which fits perfectly WHY YOU think you should be making citizens personal decisions for THEM about which fire arms they can and cannot own, the size of the “clip” (magazine) they should be allowed to have, probably how many fire arms they can or cannot possess, ammo decisions too . . . And the list of YOU knowing better then THEM, just keeps going.

JoshuaIsLord. Have you ever thought this just might be an ELITIST ARROGANCE mentality, and YOU really DON’T know other peoples’ needs better than THEY do?

Well I guess that settles it then. People with rational thought, are on par with apples. . . . OK.

To readers of this forum.

Read the past several posts.

This is exactly WHY I say the liberals look at people as “beasts” incapable of making decisions for themselves.

Their distorted world view does not allow them to see people as good. Fallen, but good.

The “fallen” gets stretched so far that the “rational” aspect is discarded.

It is a Protestant Puritinism or a “Catholic” heretical Jansenistic way to look at people.

It’s prevalent in our country today, this Puritanical world view. And it is insidious and perverted.

JoshuaIsLord. You never answered my questions.

My questions concerned good citizens and bad citizens.

And good police and bad police.

And if that means we should conflate the good citizens/police with the bad citizens/police?

Because if you DO mix them together, you MUST disarm them ALL if you are going to be consistent.

And if you DON’T mix them all together WHY bring up good citizens who turn into bad guys to support your gun banning positions?

(Not to mention the fact that you will be ignoring the criminals if you disarm all the good citizens and good police)

Here again are my questions . . .
Do YOU think this gives us grounds to proverbially tar and feather ALL our GOOD officers because of the FEW “bad apples”? Why or why not?

Of I am not complaining about gun ownership IN GENERAL

What I am or would be complaining about is gun ownership in the hands of those that have Mental Issues or the potential for Mental issues.
I agree. There is, in many states like Florida, a statutory procedure in place to adjudicate those who exhibit in language and actions a threat to themselves and others. In the Parkland case, and in the Texas case, it was government that failed to properly enforce the laws. In Parkland, is was multiple failures by multiple agencies.
Take one of my own brother’s for instance. He thinks every single Muslim here in the United States is here to kill us. He has mental issues to say the least. It is against this type of person we need to guard against having possession of deadly assault weapons.
I can’t speak to your brother, but if his viewpoint/behavior includes threats or actions that can be construed by a judge as a threat, that should be actionable.
Stronger background checks are not enough. We need mandated Psychological evaluations performed at some given interval to determine the ongoing mental state of each individual that has a gun permit.
Dangerous ground here. We can point to specific situations where gun violence is involved, most notably young men raised without fathers. Gang membership. Use of drugs, even those drugs prescribed for ADHD, etc. The idea that the population at large should be subject to psychological exams is a waste of time and money, doesn’t target the problem, as is easily abused

To the gun-grabbers here.

Should this sheriff lose ALL his rights to carry a firearm? (Irrespective of if he is on-duty or off-duty)
He left a loaded gun in a public area of a school? Yes, absolutely, he should lose both his job and the right to own and carry firearms.

Clearly he cannot be trusted with a gun.

Thank you for weighing in on this Inisfallen.

I’m not saying I agree or disagree with your (name removed by moderator)ut on this.

But I DID want to hear what you and others think.

In the meantime, I will keep deliberating.

Again many thanks.

JonNC . . .
Dangerous ground here. . .
I agree JonNC. VERY dangerous ground.

Who can forget about Solzhenitsyn telling the world about psychological gulaging and psychology as a political power tool to oppress political opponents? (My teachers told me about that when I was a kid.)

Weaponized psychology.

And other nebulous parameters are subject to abuse too.

What about a kid how gets in a fight at school? Is HE considered “violent” now for the rest of his life? Can HE have gun rights?

What if he beats up girls? Then can he have gun rights?

Can he have the right to proverbially have his finger on the nuclear button?

What if he just pushes girls around on the playground when he was younger (like this guy did)?
Then can HE have guns and button access ability?

.

The point is, JoshuaIsLord . . . WHO gets to decide?

The other point that you are missing is. . . . We ALREADY have psychologic prohibitions in the system. They are on an individual basis, but they are there.

(Why don’t you ask your brother-in-law. I’m sure he has filled out NICS forms before. He can tell you about that section.)

No mandated Government “testing”.

(Would you like to do THAT for voting rights too JoshuaIsLord?)

.

From Obama’s book (emphasis mine) . . .
There was one other child in my class, though, who reminded me of a different sort of pain. Her name was Coretta, and before my arrival she had been the only black person in our grade. She was plump and dark and didn’t seem to have many friends. From the first day, we avoided each other but watched from a distance, as if direct contact would only remind us more keenly of our isolation.
.
Finally, during recess one hot, cloudless day, we found ourselves occupying the same corner of the playground. I don’t remember what we said to each other, but I remember that suddenly she was chasing me around the jungle gym and swings. She was laughing brightly, and I teased her and dodged this way and that, until she finally caught me and we fell to the ground breathless. When I looked up, I saw a group of children, faceless before the glare of the sun, pointing down at us.
.
“Coretta has a boyfriend! Coretta has a boyfriend!”
.
The chants grew louder as a few more kids circled us.
.
“She’s not my g-girlfriend,” I stammered. I looked to Coretta for some assistance, but she just stood there looking down at the ground. “Coretta’s got a boyfriend! Why don’t you kiss her, mister boyfriend?”
.
“I’m not her boyfriend!” I shouted. I ran up to Coretta and gave her a slight shove; she staggered back and looked up at me, but still said nothing. “Leave me alone!” I shouted again. And suddenly Coretta was running, faster and faster, until she disappeared from sight. Appreciative laughs rose around me. . . .

He has gone off the rails as the saying goes. Or some would say has gone off the grid.

Tell that to the ones that lost loved ones in Las Vegas.

and they are PISS POOR.

OK JoshuaIsLord.

We have plenty of people skirt by with Government psychological testing and firearms.

Here are a few examples . . . .

Oklahoma City police officer accused of mass sexual assault faces new charges World News
Two new charges were filed Tuesday against an Oklahoma City police officer Daniel Holtzclaw, who now faces 36 charges that include rape, sexual battery and stalking. He’s accused of sexually assaulting 13 women while on patrol.

U.N. says some of its peacekeepers were paying 13-year-olds for sex World News
NAIROBI — The United Nations has been grappling with so many sexual abuse allegations involving its peacekeepers that Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon recently called them “a cancer in our system.” Now, officials have learned about what appears to be a fresh scandal. Investigators discovered this month that at least four U.N. peacekeepers in the Central African Republic allegedly paid young girls as little as 50 cents in exchange for sex. The case is the latest to plague the U.N. mission in the C…

.

These guys above have had PLENTY of Government Psych. exams.

.

Tell me again WHY you think Government-imposed Psych exams will be helpful and explain how they CANNOT ALSO be ABUSED by people in political power for “WEAPONIZED PSYCHOLOGY” purposes against political opponents?

Tell me how you are going to exempt the good guy and focus on the bad guy as well.

Tell me YOUR “solutions” JoshuaIsLord!

JoshuaIsLord above offers the same old solution.

It’s always the same old solution to every problem for the liberal mindset (and they don’t even see it).

More Government.
Bloated Government.
More programs.
MORE Taxes.
More Government AUTHORITY.
More FORCE.
More rules, regulations, and laws.
More fines.
More jails (to deal with the problems they created).
More politics.
More calling licentiousness mislabeled as “freedom” (they never seem to complain about porn shops but they get bent out of shape if Ben Shapiro is coming to campus or there is an NRA rally or a gun-show in the area)
More INTERNATIONAL GOVERNMENT (the global warming game is an example here)
More destruction of the middle class in the name of helping the middle class.
More destruction of women in the name of helping women.
More destruction of Indians and other minorities in the name of helping minorities.
More destruction of the defenseless in the name of helping the defenseless (abortion or as the late ABORTION ADVOCATE Paul Wellstone used to like to say about HIMSELF, he wants not to help the “Rockafella’s but the little fellas’”. Sure Paul.)

Politics becomes their “religion”.

Its “POLITICAL MESSIANISM”. It is seeing Government as your “messiah”. It is viewing Government as your “deliverer”.

And it is THOSE types of people someday, who will fall the HARDEST for the Anti-Christ the Church teaches.

.

supreme religious deception is that of the Antichrist, a pseudo-messianism by which man glorifies himself

.
CCC 675 Before Christ’s second coming the Church must pass through a final trial that will shake the faith of many believers.574 The persecution that accompanies her pilgrimage on earth575 will unveil the “mystery of iniquity” in the form of a religious deception offering men an apparent solution to their problems at the price of apostasy from the truth. The supreme religious deception is that of the Antichrist, a pseudo-messianism by which man glorifies himself in place of God and of his Messiah come in the flesh.576
.

especially the “intrinsically perverse” POLITICAL form of a SECULAR messianism.

.
CCC 676 The Antichrist’s deception already begins to take shape in the world every time the claim is made to realize within history that messianic hope which can only be realized beyond history through the eschatological judgment. The Church has rejected even modified forms of this falsification of the kingdom to come under the name of millenarianism,577 **especially the “intrinsically perverse” political form of a secular messianism.**578
.

Warfare among the people.

Class warfare (Marxism)
Gender warfare
Race warfare
Warfare against babies
War on the NRA
The War on Poverty (which has ballooned Government but has not made the people wealthier)
The War on Drugs (draw your own conclusions how successful THAT has been).
The War on Terror (Shredding the Constitution in the process and BLOATING Government)

etc., etc.

It’s always the same thing.

Liberal ideology is poisonous. Whether the liberal ideology is coming from Democrats or liberal Republicans. Liberalism has done great harm to America.

More INTERNATIONAL GOVERNMENT (the global warming game is an example here)
So reasonable gun regulation is now part of the great global warming hoax and some plot to surrender our sovereignity to the United Nations or something?

OK. Are the Illuminati involved? The Trilateral Commission? The Rothschilds?

Do tell.
