I guess the Browns losing yesterday means they can no longer get a wildcard spot, or at least their already-slim chances of doing so are now infinitesimal. Playoff picture still shows Cleveland being “in the hunt,” but the odds appear heavily stacked against them. The Titans appear to be a bigger threat to the Steelers in this regard since only conference record separates the two.

There was some massively bad play calling on the part of the Steelers last night. We’re lucky the Titans also lost.
 
Freddie Kitchens is so, so bad. Every one of my friends agrees, including the guy who consistently yells at me when I say anything bad about the team. I gave up and went to watch minor league hockey last weekend, I have a better time there (plus it’s indoors). Was a bit sorry I missed the Army-Navy game but I have another chance to go next year so I calendared it.

Evidently you and I have both misunderstood something here, since the Saints are actually still 3rd. Apparently, it’s a conference record thang—Seattle and GB are 8-2 against NFC opponents while NO is 8-3.

Truly, with four of the six NFC playoff berths being occupied at present by teams with an 11-3 record (including one wildcard) and just one known divisional champion with a mere two weeks to go in regular season, seedings are tight and only minutiae separates the conference leaders. 🔍

Oh, I totally get that. A higher ranking generally means an easier path to the SB, tho’.

Congratulations to Brees for setting the all time TD passing record. Being accomplished on his home field and on MNF added to the moment. The only downside for me as a viewer was listening to those ESPN announcers. They are awful especially for a prime time game. I mute them but turned it up when Brees broke the record. I’m not sure why they can’t find better announcers than those two.

I have issues with certain announcers, too. A little trick I do is mute the TV and tune into radio announcers that I like and are much better! Plus, because it’s radio, they assume you can’t see the game and give much more details on who’s lining up where, etc. it’s made many a game much more enjoyable for us!
 
Yes I mute it often and listen to the local broadcast. For Monday night football sometimes I’ll listen to Kevin Harlan on the national broadcast on the radio. He’s excellent. Or sometimes I’ll listen to music while watching the game muted. For big games and playoffs I like to listen to the TV announcers. Fortunately these games usually have the best announcing teams.
 
You haven’t lived until you’ve watched an entire game with full commentary in French. 🥴
 
Meanwhile, I’ve taken a look at the college Bowl game schedule, none of which I get to watch. 😭

That Fiesta Bowl looks fun, in a frightening sort of way 😱 😀

The Clemson vs Ohio State game should be exciting. I think Clemson is only slightly favored.

LSU is heavily favored over Oklahoma in the other playoff game…

Penn State fans get to see their bowl game vs Memphis at noon, then start watching the playoffs right afterwards. (bonus) 🙂

Good luck to your 49ers tonight. The division is still undecided, but the Rams must also win to keep their hopes alive for a wild card spot.

The Eagles will have their hands full against the Cowboys tomorrow evening with their own must win game.

Not the bowl games, no. Very little college ball is shown in France. The few games that are air on a channel we can’t get unless we change our provider and buy a dish. 😛

Whew 😅 That was close. Going forward, however, we have GOT to play better than we did just now. 😒
