Really a great game to watch tonight. Clemson fought back hard to get the win and deserves a ton of respect. Lawrence will be a top pick in the NFL somedayā€¦ LSU was amazing in their win as well, but also once again showed that Big 12 teams donā€™t emphasize strong defense the way most top contenders do. That was proven again tonight with LSU putting up 63 points on them!

Whoever ends up winning the National Championship in two weeks will certainly be deserving of it!

I see that! Itā€™s the logical outcome, really. The Panthers are a mess this season, while the Saints are a well-oiled machine.

KC gets the bye week with the Pats losing to the Dolphins. I think.

Yep. What an upset.

Itā€™s the Patsā€™ first wildcard in ten years.

I think the general feeling is ā€œshould have been done months agoā€.

I understand we lost to the Bungles today. Thatā€™s just sad. I have not watched any football for a couple of months. I watched some Hershey Bears hockey instead, it was less depressing.

I know we still have the playoffs and the SB, but I want to say ā€œthank youā€ that even though we all (mostly) support different teams, this has been a fun and respectful conversation. šŸ™‚

And now I have a mental image of bear-shaped chocolate figures playing ice hockeyā€¦
LOL. My parents went to Hershey Bears hockey for many years, many years ago. The team plays in Hershey PA where they do make the candy. What I find funny is when Mother describes the way they and other fans dressedā€“she was in her nylons and heels in the coldest of weather (at least they played in a stadium) and Dad wore a suit and hat. Thatā€™s how sports fans in general dressed in those days.

Hope youā€™re enjoying the game šŸˆ Luckily itā€™s not too coldā€¦
The Lions play in a domed stadium, so weather is only a factor going from wherever you parked to the stadium. The rain from earlier in the morning had stopped, but I did pick up some grime pushing my ā™æ.

Ha! I feel just the opposite! Football should be played in the weatherā€¦itā€™s an outside game. Dealing with the weather conditions is part of the strategy of the game. We Coloradans love it when a game here becomes a snow bowl as we have experience in dealing with it. Home field advantage should mean something! And true fans will dress for the weather as well.

Sometimes the game isnā€™t just about the skill of the players but their ability to adapt to various situations. YMMV

Many people consider playing and watching the game outside in winter weather to be a key part of the football experience.

Iā€™m personally not big on that and would prefer to watch such games from a sports bar, or perhaps a nice VIP enclosed box or sports bar in the stadium itself.

I remember a time in elementary school when the local Catholic boysā€™ high school, which is one of the two that always plays in the well-known annual ā€œHoly Warā€, decided to have a bunch of the elementary/ junior high bands from various local Catholic schools play a song on the field at half time. It rained buckets and we ended up sitting in open bleachers in torrential rain for most of the first two quarters before the half time performance was cancelled and we were all sent home. I had no idea what was happening on the field as my father at that point in his life didnā€™t watch a lot of football and it was raining so hard I could barely even see what the players were doing. That kind of soured me on watching football games outdoors for several decades.
