The toughest decision any professional athlete has to make is when to say when.
I know a guy who played NFL ball for 10 years. I think he broke just about everything on his body, at least once.
Sometimes you see him at a pharmacy toting home an arm load of prescriptions. I do not know if they are for pain or what.
The same is true of almost all sports especially at the professional level. When anyone whines and moans over the salary these players make I tend to think they arenāt paid enough. Itās an about twenty year career that destroys their bodiesā¦guaranteeing a life of pain and numerous medical procedures.
Iām a hockey fan and the pain they play through and scars and teeth they donate for the love of the game amazes me. I suffer chronic pain that I did not choose and these athletes choose it!
Saturday and Sunday the 11th and 12th are the divisional playoffs with eight teams left, four in the AFC and four in the NFC. Minnesota at San Francisco and Tennessee at Baltimore on Saturday and Houston at Kansas City and Seattle at Green Bay on Sunday. What are our picks for playing in the Conference Championships and the Super Bowl?
I was focusing on accuracy with that prediction. Some details had to be dropped.
Kidding aside, LSU is a great team and are favored by 5.5 points. Last year everyone raved about how good Alabama was and expected them to beat Clemson in the championship game. Final score: 44-16 Clemson.
I donāt bet on games, but if I did, Iād probably want to take Clemson with the points after seeing how they played against Ohio State.
Lamar who??? Nahā¦just kidding! Weāll be back next yearā¦I think. Kinda pulling for the Chiefs now. Another darn good quarterback in #15! Go get 'em kid!!! They were down 24 zip and theyāre about to take the lead. Unbelievable!!!
That sounds about right (says the SF fan ), but the Titans have slayed two dragons so far and narrowly beat KC in KC back in November. I think they have their chances against Mahomes & Co. this time as well.
The first half of Texans @ Chiefs was surreal, especially the first quarter.
Since The Eagles arenāt playing my rooting interest for next Sundayās games mostly has to do with the quarterbacks. In the NFC Iād like to see Rodgers get another shot at a Super Bowl win. In the AFC Iāll be pulling for the underdog Titans and Tannehill. Mahomes should have plenty of chances in the upcoming years. However if the Chiefs win Iāll be happy for Andy Reid getting another shot at finally winning the Super Bowl.
In the college championship Iāll root for LSU since Clemson won last year. Plus the LSU QB will be heading to the NFL next year so this is his last chance at the national championship. The Clemson QB will still have more chances.
Itās almost the end of the first half in the CFP National Championship game and LSU is leading Clemson 21 to 17. But Clemson has the ball and is trying to change that. Nope, Clemsono had to punt and now LSU has the ball. Still time left in the first half. LSU just scored another touchdown! LSU 28 - Clemson 17 and the end of the first half.
