Okay, another middle-of-the-night game-watching fail šŸ’¤ (I really should just record the games and watch them later if I doze off )

@(name removed by moderator), congrats on being the first to clinch division. šŸ˜Ž

The most exciting matchup of the season so far: 49ers @ Ravens 1pm EST

Possible Super Bowl preview?

Sure, that’s great and all, but I’ll be watching the other incredible matchup today with the Eagles vs Dolphins at the same time slot on Fox in the Philly area…

Steelers and Browns rematch today, too.
That’s the other 1pm game here on CBS. I’ll be flipping back and forth between that and the Eagles then running to the computer checking for updates on the 49ers-Ravens. LOL

I wasn’t particularly confident about this game, so losing it isn’t a surprise nor a major blow. I just would have preferred a different result, obviously.

Yeah, they did! I was wondering how that was going to turn out in the end. šŸ™‚

ā€œYou’re welcome, Earth!ā€

ā€œPittsburgh Started Itā€

It’s high time I showed my stupidity! 🄳 šŸˆ

I’m looking at the playoff picture, and what I’m seeing for the NFC doesn’t make sense.

I get why the Saints are 1st seed.
I get why the Seahawks are 2nd seed.
I get why the 49ers are not 2nd seed despite having the same record as the Seahawks.

I don’t get why the 49ers are 5th seed behind the 3rd-seeded Packers (SF has beaten them and has the better record) and the 4th-seeded Cowboys (losing record).

Help…?

playoff slots 1-4 are for the division winners. slots 5 and 6 are the ā€œwild cardā€ slots and are for the two teams with the best records who did not win their division. It does not matter if the wild card teams have better records than a particular division winner, its just how the playoff seeds are determined.

The 49ers are not currently in the lead of their division so they are in a wild card slot.

Okay. With that explanation, the entire NFC picture makes sense now.

Thank you!

SF gets a playoff berth today if they (1) don’t lose, and (2) do better than the Rams. Go Niners! :pray:t3: :crossed_fingers:šŸ˜€

In general I like the Saints, but today I have to pick sides.

Today I am a fan of whatever team can help the Steelers. The Browns are essentially out, but there is a slim possiblity that could get the wildcard (they would have to go 4-0). So, go Bengals!🤢

That must have hurt šŸ˜‰

Today we have to make the choice between guaranteeing a playoff spot (Rams can’t win) or getting the division lead back (Seahawks can’t win). I guess it’s better—and probably more likely; I don’t see LA beating Seattle—to secure the playoffs first then go after the div title. And of course we can’t lose our own game. Yikes! 😵
