Women take a marriage vow to love, honor, and serve. Men vow to love honor and cherish. Serving is not slavery. It is not obedience. Serving is giving.
Priorities have to be in place. You are right. If something needs urgent attention then it would, of course, take the place of recreation.
We have been taught the democratic way since we were small children. In a democracy everyone has an equal vote and the majority rules. A marriage cannot function as a democracy. There is no tie breaking vote. A husband should act like a leader of the family.
