So funny people’s perceptions. I’m from a western state. Only lived in Indiana for two years. The midwest was extremely unfriendly. No one met your eyes. It was hard to make friends even in our wonderful parish. People were hard and not expressive. Especially the men.
Seattle was friendly enough. Your barista at least tries to talk to you. Liberalism and a bohemian atmosphere rule.

I agree.

I find people from both East and West Coast to be friendlier that those from the Midwest. If you didn’t grow up with them and attended the same schools, you were invisible to them…

Yes, one more win will secure them the #1 seed in the NFC. But I must tell you, I can’t be a part of the Saints honorary WHO DAT cheer team this week when they play the Steelers. That would likely put me in some hot water being a Pennsylvania resident and all. SO, what I’m planning to do is just go about my daily activities during that time while pretending to be oblivious that the game is even taking place at all! And that should keep me out of trouble and take care of that situation!!

But out of curiosity, I did take a peek at the matchup and noticed the Saints are currently 5.5 point favorites. (NOT THAT I CARE ONE IOTA, OF COURSE)

Go Eagles!! 😅

Maybe that’s part of what’s different for me. I spent my teenage years in Michigan. With that said, my parents had no trouble making friends, most of whom were lifelong Midwesterners, many from the town that we were in.

Yinz knew this one would be worth the wait 🎆

“Does anyone else taste batteries?”

I wish Fr. David were still on here so we could revist that entire discussion we had about how my wishing for the Browns to win was violating “Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God” 😂

Browns won again, it’s a Christmas miracle. I was really afraid they were gonna blow it in the last quarter.

I hope people have finally figured out that Hue Jackson is just not good at his job. The fans have known this for ages, I strongly suspect the team knew it too, and I don’t know why the rest of the world seemed to be unaware.

The latest playoff scenarios:

-With the Steelers loss to the Saints tonight, the winner of the Titans vs Colts game next Sunday night will go to the playoffs!

-The Steelers not only must beat the Bengals next Sunday, but also need the Browns to upset the Ravens in Baltimore to be able to make the playoffs now!

-The best scenario for the Eagles to get a wild card playoff spot is to beat the Redskins next Sunday, while the Vikings must lose at home to the Chicago Bears! The only possible alternative is for the Seahawks to lose to the Chiefs tonight (though Seahawks ahead by 11 late in the 4th as I type), but also lose to the Cardinals next Sunday which is highly unlikely.

-Congrats to the 13-2 Saints! They can rest their starters next week and get ready for the playoffs with home field advantage throughout!

Now the Browns fans are all upset because they don’t want either the Steelers or Ravens to go to the playoffs and the outcome of their own game with the Ravens is going to affect that. Some of the fans want the Browns to forfeit the Ravens game so the Steelers get eliminated. Decisions, decisions.

The Eagles are now both Bears AND 49er fans this week!

Why?

The only incentive for the Bears to try to beat the Vikings (which the Eagles need to happen) is if the 49ers can somehow manage to beat the Rams. That would give the Bears an opportunity to claim the #2 seed, and a first round bye in the playoffs.

Problem: the NFL decided to move the Bears-Vikings game from 1pm to 4:25 ET which is the same start time for the 49er-Rams game.

Meaning, if the Bears game remained at 1pm, they wouldn’t know yet the score of the other game, and would have to play their best to beat the Vikings just in case the Rams lose. But now they will be able to monitor the 49er-Rams game which, if the Rams jump out to a comfortable lead, the Bears might begin pulling their starters to avoid injuries since the game result will become meaningless with a Rams victory.

So even if the Eagles beat the Redskins, they still need the Bears to win. And for the Bears to even want to win, they need the 49ers to beat the Rams.

I thought the Ravens would always be their biggest rival since the Art Modell move.

But the Steelers too? 🙂

You must not be from either Cleveland or Pittsburgh.

Clevelanders don’t like the Ravens because of Modell moving the team and then they became champs, etc.
But Browns-Steelers has always been THE rivalry. We’re talking about riots in the streets after games.
It goes back generations.
Steelers are THE most hated team in Cleveland, bar none. It’s always been that way my whole life.

I don’t want to come off sounding like a Debbie Downer or anything, but I don’t think the Eagles or Steelers are going to the playoffs!!

I will begin preparation to become a full-time Saints fan after this Sunday!

At least your fans didn’t boo Santa!
