O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen.

Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world. x10

Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Always a need for prayer! So thank you again for your prayers for the Boise Catholic street evangelization effort.
  • “John”, the homeless man awaiting biopsy results from last week, passed by again. His lymph node did have cancer, and he faces more tests to see how far it’s spread. Prayers, please?
  • “John, the parking lot attendant” stopped by again. He told us how a fire in central Idaho got started. A woman had filled her wood stove with coal (not good). Later in the night, -boom-. One of her windows, frame and all, was found 1/4 mile away. The woman survived the blast, but died of a heart attack getting away. Please pray for the happy repose of her soul?
  • A young couple stopped, sporting anti-Christian symbols all over. She cheerfully accepted a Rosary and the encouragement to pray it. May Our Lady obtain freedom for them from their enemy, and lead them to her Son and salvation!
  • A man stopped for a Rosary for his mother. He asked for a Divine Mercy card for himself.
  • A group of four pre-teens, dripping wet from the fountain, each accepted a Rosary, its pamphlet, and the encouragement to pray it.
  • A father and child stopped, the father had a Happy Birthday balloon floating behind his shoulder. He is Catholic, and told us he’d finally begun to take his Faith seriously, and was reading the Bible. May the Holy Spirit guide his reading and draw him closer to his Lord.
  • “James”, the developmentally delayed homeless man, stopped and said he had given last week’s Rosary to his mother. We gave him its pamphlet, so he could continue practicing the prayers. At the mention of his mother, e. Lucy remembered our first encounter with him, years ago. At that time, and every so often, he had asked prayers for her. She struggled with addiction, James said, and sometimes he’d had no idea where she was. This time, though, he told us she was “doing fine.” Praise God!
  • As we were walking back to our vehicles, we ran into two of the teenage skateboarders and one of the girls who received Rosaries a few weeks before. We asked if they had tried praying the Rosary. Like a kid who forgot his homework, one boy replied with a nervous yes that meant no, while the other boy gave us a sarcastic “of course”. The young lady just smiled. We encouraged them to keep trying.
  • Foot traffic was fairly light. Traffic was more congested than usual, and the air was hazy from other states’ forest fires. Still, people seemed to be in a fairly good mood. Altogether, we gave away 10-15 Rosaries and its booklet, and 1 Divine Mercy prayer card.
Please pray for us again today? Ask God to send people to us prepared to perceive their need for Jesus Christ and His Holy Catholic Church, and that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s effort.

Your prayers make a positive difference! So thank you again for your prayers and other support for this apostolate! In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and all those you love!

“Go with the strength you have“ (Judg 6:14).

P.S. Another few particular thank yous, for continued assurance of your prayers, your encouraging words, and other support : especially from Randy, Barbara, Michael, Joanne, and Alice!

Evangelization: Always an adventure. So thank you again for your prayers for the Boise Catholic street evangelization effort.
  • “I want to kill you guys,” said a somewhat heavyset, homeless-looking womanas she walked by. Then she went and sat at a picnic table in the middle distance, muttering to herself. E. Lucy noticed that looking her way seemed to trigger a fresh outburst from the woman, so avoided doing so. After a few minutes, the woman passed by our table again, saying nothing quite audible. Pray for her?
  • A man responded, “Yes, I would like a Rosary,” and came over to our table. He started asking about the process to become Catholic. We explained the RCIA process and said, if he started now, he could come into the Church next Easter. We gave him a map with contact information for area parishes and encouraged him to join the classes now forming.
  • Another man came over to our table. “Brandon” was Catholic, from across the country, and was interested in connecting with a local parish. E. Lucy handed him a map of area parishes and then asked if he’d also like a copy of the Confession brochure. He gave a sigh, quickly followed by “yes, I’d better do that.” May his enthusiasm to get to Mass again through Reconciliation come to fruition in action.
  • A woman, perhaps 30 years old, stopped to receive a Rosary. She had been raised in a pseudo-Christian tradition in foster care, but hadn’t been active in any faith for a long time. We encouraged her to dig deeply into the life of Christ in the Mysteries of the Rosary. E. Lucy gave her a copy of the kerygma, to refresh her memory about Christianity.
  • A man on a mission bicycle stopped to ask if we were going to pray for him. He accepted a Rosary and a brief explanation of the prayer. When asked how he was doing, he said cryptically that his life had too much reality.
  • While we were talking to her, a man came to the table unbidden, wanting a Rosary. He wondered if RCIA classes were starting any time soon. He also wondered why he couldn’t receive the bread and wine now. E. Lucy explained the purpose of the classes and why he must wait to participate in the Eucharist. He accepted a map of area parishes.
  • Altogether, we gave away perhaps 20 Rosaries and its pamphlet, 2 maps of area parishes, 2 copies of the kerygma, and 1 Confession brochure.
Please pray for us again today? Please ask God to send people to us prepared to perceive their need for Our Savior Jesus Christ and His Holy Catholic Church, and that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s efforts.

Last week was an unusually lively session for us, so thank you again for your prayers and other support for this apostolate. In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and all those you love!

“Go with the strength you have“ (Judg 6:14).

P.S. Please pray for my pastor, “Fr. Rob”? He has come down with a serious case of the dread virus.

The Rosary draws Catholics, active or inactive. So thank you again for your prayers for the Boise Catholic street evangelization effort.
  • Two women stopped. One wanted a Rosary, the other was a non-Catholic Christian. While e. Chuck helped the first woman choose a Rosary, e. Lucy explained the devotion to the second, and how it was a way of growing closer to Jesus Christ. She still declined receiving a Rosary, but accepted the booklet and the encouragement to use it to deepen her relationship with Christ.
  • An elderly-looking homeless woman came to us for a Rosary. Her speech was slightly slurred, and she started rehearsing the troubles she blamed on others. Then we got swamped with back-to-back visitors, and so she took her leave. May God bless her!
  • A big family group was enjoying the fountain. One of the adults, a man wearing a “Funcle” t-shirt, came over to choose a Rosary, saying “I haven’t unpacked mine yet”. A young girl from the group came to pick out a Rosary with her uncle as well. Then, after the group had started walking away, another man from the family came back to ask for prayers. “Josh” has lost the hearing in one ear and it makes him dizzy sometimes, so we prayed for him for healing.
  • A man walked by, making a bizarre claim. With a smile, he told us, “Catholics killed Jesus”. He didn’t stop walking as we asked him to explain. He just repeated the same charge, over and over, and then told us to look it up. May the Holy Spirit enlighten him with the Truth!
  • A mom and two children (under 7 years old) sat at a picnic table not far from us. After a while, the oldest of the two boys came to the table. He did not know what the Rosary was, nor did he think he was a Christian. He took a pamphlet, Rosary, and a copy of the kerygma for his mother. Later, his little brother came toward the table, but then he just made a circle around us and returned to his family without stopping.
  • My impression of Sunday’s session was that the vast majority of people who stopped were Catholics!
  • Last week was the US holiday called “Labor Day”, and there were more people out than there has been. Altogether, we gave away 25-30 Rosaries and its booklet, as well as at least one copy of the kerygma.
Please pray for us again today? Ask God to send people to us prepared to perceive their need for Jesus Christ and His Holy Catholic Church, and that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s efforts.

Even inactive Catholics think fondly of the Rosary. So thank you again for your prayers and other support for this apostolate. In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and all those you love!

P.S. Thank you for your prayers for “Fr. Rob.” Although he is still in the hospital, his health is slowly improving. Thank you, Jesus!

P.P.S. Again, a thank you for all your prayers and words of encouragement.
