O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen.

Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world. x10

Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

The Rosary deepens our trust in Jesus! So thank you again for your prayers for the Boise Catholic street evangelization effort.
  • Two men (early 30s) stopped. One wanted a “pretty Rosary” because he “grew up Catholic”. We encouraged him to pray the Rosary and think about the life of Jesus. He took Rosary and pamphlet.
  • Two more men stopped, non-Catholic Christians. One asked the difference between Catholicism and Christianity. Hearing they were the same, he then asked what was special about Catholicism. Evangelist Chuck mentioned the historicity of the Church, its unity, and its apostolic succession. He told of the moment, during his RCIA journey, when he shook the bishop’s hand. Once he understood the significance of apostolic succession, he was awestruck. His listener seemed equally impressed with the connection of our bishop all the way back to Christ. He and his friend each accepted a Rosary and expressed the desire to try it.
  • A 20-something man carrying a huge skateboard did not know what a Rosary was, and did not respond when asked if he knew Jesus. So we told him about Jesus Christ and the Rosary and the helpfulness of prayer. He accepted Rosary and pamphlet, expressing a desire to learn it. Then, halfway across the square he stopped, stood still, and briefly looked through the pamphlet.
  • An apparently homeless man made a shuffling beeline directly toward us. He asked for a Divine Mercy bookmark. Then he also accepted Rosary, its booklet, and the encouragement to pray it.
  • Two well dressed men stopped. One accepted a Rosary, but said he’d give it to his mother “who would appreciate it.”
  • A heavily tattooed and pierce woman and man stopped. They did not know what the Rosary was, and were thrilled to hear the Rosary consisted of meditations on scenes from the life of Christ. They each accepted a Rosary, its pamphlet, and the encouragement to try it, which the woman couldn’t wait to do.
  • One man from a group on scooters stopped. He had gone through RCIA just a few years before, had recently moved here, and was connected with a local parish. He took Rosary and pamphlet.
  • Two 20-something men stopped. One approached the table. He was not familiar with the Rosary, but did know and love Jesus Christ. He grew interested when he learned the Rosary emphasizes the life of Christ. He had not heard of a Creed before and was glad to know it was in the pamphlet. The other man then stepped forward, chose a Rosary, and asked if it included the prayer used in his addiction recovery group. He meant the Lord’s Prayer and was glad to have it a copy of it in the Rosary brochure.
  • Despite the light foot traffic, the two evangelists gave away 15 or so Rosaries and its booklet, and 1 Divine Mercy bookmark.
Please pray for us again today? Ask God to send people to us prepared to perceive their need for Our Savior and His Holy Catholic Church, and that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s efforts.

The Rosary leads to Jesus Christ! So thank you again for your prayers and other support for this apostolate! In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and all those you love!

People don’t remain neutral about the Rosary! So thank you again for your prayers for the Boise Catholic street evangelization effort.
  • A group of adults on electric scooters passed by, then one man circled back. Staying on his moving scooter, he asked, “Why are you idolaters?” We replied, “We don’t worship the Rosary!” But he insisted, “Then why do you sell the thing?” To which we replied, “We don’t sell it, and it’s for prayer.” He declared, “It looks like idolatry to me,” and sped away. Afterwards, we prayed 1 decade for him in reparation. Join us?
  • A visitor was evasive when asked whether he knew anything about the Rosary, or if he knew Christ. Finally, he admitted he was unsure which if any religion was true. E. Chuck encouraged him to be a “good agnostic” and to explore the prayers of the Rosary with an open mind, to dig deep into the Rosary’s stories as he asked his questions. E. Lucy also gave him a Good News/kerygma pamphlet. He said he would study it and try the Rosary, saying, “Who knows? Maybe this will bring me to faith?” Lord, please grant he listens to the Holy Spirit!
  • A nonbeliever stopped, but didn’t seem interested in the Rosary as itself. He saw it as just the same as prayer beads used in non-Christian religions. We gave a quick explanation the Rosary and how to pray it. We also gave him a copy of the kerygma. He seemed a bit reluctant to accept the pamphlet, but politely did so. Then he told us a story of a buddy of his who served in military active duty overseas. They were usually forbidden fires or any kind of light in the trenches, but during a cease-fire they were allowed some light. His buddy told him of one night during a ceasefire, when he looked up and down the trench at the fires. He said the only sound he could hear was the clicking of Rosary beads. After our visitor told us the story, he suddenly looked with new appreciation at the Rosary he had just chosen, and expressed an eagerness to learn to pray it.
  • A down-and-out-looking couple stopped. He wanted a purple Rosary, then said the woman should pick. She picked out one, then changed her mind two more times (those Rosaries were set aside for cleaning). The man was a non-believer, but eventually accepted the Rosary and kerygma brochures from e. Lucy, and chose a Rosary for himself. The woman told e. Chuck that she had been Catholic as a kid, and asked him for a Divine Mercy Chaplet prayer card. He explained that she could use the beads to pray this prayer as well. Please pray for them?
  • Altogether, we gave away 15-20 Rosaries, 3 copies of the kerygma, and 1 Divine Mercy prayer card.
Please pray for us again today? Ask God to send people to us who are prepared to perceive their need for Jesus Christ and His Holy Catholic Church, and that much good fruit for His kingdom comes of today’s efforts!

Even nonbelievers want to pray the Rosary! So thank you again for your prayers and other support for this apostolate! In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and all those you love!

People hunger for peace, so thank you again for your prayers for the Boise Catholic street evangelization effort. Two evangelists were available.
  • For the US holiday, “Father’s Day”, the business park’s fountain was going, its first appearance since “Labor Day”, last fall. Children played in the water, while other people biked through it, or sat and visited at nearby picnic tables. The weather was pleasant and people were generally cheerful.
  • Two men, early- to md-30s, accepted our offer of a free Rosary. One, stage-named “Watermelon”, showed us a promotional photo of himself. Neither man seemed to have a current religious affiliation, but were familiar with Christianity from sometime in their past. They each accepted a Rosary and its booklet. When evangelist Lucy mentioned to one that people found protection and an unexplained experience of peace when they prayed the Rosary, he became enthusiastic about trying it.
  • Two early teens on bikes passed by, then came back for a Rosary. They put them in their pockets, but one Rosary fell out as they rode across the Grove. Later, an adult couple received Rosaries from us, then soon returned to the table, bringing the black Rosary they had found on the ground. We sanitized it and put it back into circulation. It was chosen again a short time later by a man in his 20s.
  • A woman, perhaps late 30s, came to our table dripping wet from the fountain. When she learned of the power in praying the Rosary, she asked for a second one for her brother “who struggles with addiction.” E. Lucy encouraged her to pray it together with him, while e. Chuck encouraged her to also pray it for him.
  • “David” visited with us for a long while. He was Catholic, in his early 60s, and named a local parish. However, he hadn’t checked to see if and when they had reopened. He proceeded to try to recite the Rosary prayers, but at first confused it with the Stations of the Cross devotion. When he got onto the correct prayers, he needed a lot of prompting. Except for a few key phrases, he didn’t seem to know the Faith very well. Please pray for him?
  • Two adult men on bikes circled back for a Rosary. They were not familiar with the Rosary, but knew and loved Jesus Christ. They became interested in praying the Rosary when they saw how the Mysteries focused on Him. (This encounter left e. Lucy with “God bumps”.)
  • A young lady broke off from (her parents?) and came over. E. Lucy talked with her a long time and she seemed very attentive.
  • Altogether, we gave away 10-15 Rosaries and its booklet.
Please pray for us again today? Ask that God send people to us prepared to perceive their need for Our Savior and His Holy Catholic Church, and that much good fruit for His kingdom comes of today’s efforts.

Praying the Rosary brings peace, and people are hungry for that. So thank you again for your prayers and other support for this apostolate. In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and all those you love!

Still reaching people. So thank you again for your prayers for the Boise Catholic street evangelization effort.
  • The woman who caused us to have to sanitize several Rosaries the previous session, while she was making her choice, was back again. This time, she stuck with only her second choice. A woman with her asked for a black Rosary, but she was pointing to a dark blue one. So evangelist Lucy gave her a black one. The woman also wanted a second one “for a friend”, but Lucy invited her to ask her friend to come by. She came back again, later in the session. Not recognizing her at first, e. Chuck offered her a Rosary again, but she said she had a blue one.
  • A man from another country was on his phone, trying to meet up with friends. Catholic, he chatted with us briefly while waiting for his party to call him back. We didn’t have time to get him a map of local parishes before he received the call and left.
  • Another man, part of what looked like a two-family group, came and talked briefly with e. Chuck, accepting Rosary and pamphlet. Two girls from the same group, both under the age of 8, came to the table. They each accepted a Rosary, too.
  • A group of Christian young people all came to the table after the first woman stopped. They each accepted Rosary and booklet, and the encouragement to pray the Rosary to grow closer to Jesus Christ.
  • “Cole” passed 4 or 5 times, doing his laps. We hadn’t seen him for a month or so. He greeted us, but didn’t say much.
  • There was noticeably less foot traffic during the session, possibly due to a combination of two factors. The weather was unseasonably cool and breezy. Plus, the mayor of the city had rolled back the reopening phase, due to a sudden increase in cases. Still, the two evangelists gave away 12-15 Rosaries and its booklet.
Please pray for us again today? Ask God to send people to us prepared to perceive their need for Our Savior Jesus Christ and for His Holy Catholic Church. Please ask that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s efforts.

Still out there, trying to reach people for Jesus Christ and the salvation He offers. So thank you again for your prayers and other support for this apostolate. In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and all those you love!

Please pray for the Boise Catholic street evangelization effort again today? We went out last week, and reached some people. Unfortunately, I just moved and don’t have WiFi yet and so can’t share my notes from my home computer. I plan to do so as soon as I can.

Thanks for your prayers! May God continue to bless and protect you and all those you love!!!
