O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen.

Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world. x10

Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Happy Easter! Hope is resurrected! So thank you for your prayer for the Boise Catholic street evangelization effort. While “offline”, we continue our intense prayer effort for lost souls.
  • Concern for souls increases. Crisis can be an opportunity for growth, but it can also present immense spiritual danger.
  • I’ve talked to Catholics who haven’t tried to view the Mass online, livestreamed or otherwise. One said, “I can’t receive Communion, so I don’t want to watch the Mass.” Arghh! No wonder I have so little hair left! A lifelong Catholic, and she still only attended Mass for what she could get, instead of as an opportunity to offer God worship in the way He asked. I’m afraid that many Catholic have fallen into that same trap. Please pray for them?
  • Others are in danger as their suffering increases – whether through illness, the death of loved ones, economic hardship, or through want. Yes, it’s an opportunity to learn that God is trustworthy. And indeed He is! But those who are spiritually weakened by sin may instead be tempted to “curse God and die” (Job 2:9). Suicide is a real danger.
  • Another spiritual danger is our culture’s drive toward self-indulgence and constant entertainment. I overheard one young woman complaining of boredom, casually mentioning her frequent sins, committed in an attempt to escape this painful reality. Please pray for her and for all “the lost”. They are especially in danger now.
  • But Hope is risen from the dead! And Hope does not disappoint (cf. Rom 5:5). Some Scriptures I’ve leaned on for hope this past week:
  • Oracle of the Lord God—I swear I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live (Ezek 33:11).
  • You alone, Lord, make me secure (Ps 4:9b).
  • If even the smallest things are beyond your control, why are you anxious about the rest? (Luke 12:26)
  • Last week, at least three of us prayed the entire 20 decades of the Rosary at our team’s typical session time. Although we “prayed together separately” (at the same time, but in different locations and without electronic connection), we finished at almost precisely the same moment. God is good!
Please join us in prayer again today for an end to the pandemic, as well as for the conversion of sinners, and the salvation of all human beings.

We wield a most powerful weapon: the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary. We also know the end of the story: God wins! So thank you again for your prayers! In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and all those you love!

“Go with the strength you have“ (Judg 6:14).

“Prayer, too, is evangelization”, said my spiritual director as I lamented over not being able to bring Christianity to the streets, due to government health restrictions. So, thank you again for your prayers for this apostolate. At least two of us prayed “together, separately” again last week.
  • We continue to pray for “the lost” – those who no longer even perceive their need for Our Savior, due to the spiritual blindness caused by bitterness or sin.
  • We continue to pray for “rote Catholics”, who were attending Mass out of mere habit, but had lost touch with the amazing spiritual realities hidden within the symbols. They are in real danger of not coming back. Please pray for them?
  • We continue to pray for an end to the pandemic, for those ill due to the virus, and for the safety of those caring for them. We also pray for God’s mercy for, and the happy repose of, the thousands of souls who have died from the disease. We also pray for those experiencing financial difficulties and life-threatening want in the aftermath of the global crisis. And, for the leaders whom God has allowed to rise to power, we pray for wisdom.
  • We experience heartfelt gratitude for the partial re-opening of some church buildings again, in places where the number of new infections have dropped.
  • Last week during our usual session time, at least two of us prayed 20 decades of the Rosary. We plan to do so again today, but starting and ending 15 minutes early, in order to also pray some special Divine Mercy Sunday devotions.
Please pray for and with us again today? Many souls are in more danger than ever. Please ask God to grant them the grace to perceive their need for Our Savior Jesus Christ and His Holy Catholic Church. Please ask that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes in answer to today’s prayers.

On this Divine Mercy Sunday, we ask God to do what we cannot. So thank you again for your prayers and other support for this apostolate. In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and all those you love!

Work-from-home “street evangelization” continues. So thank you again for your prayers for the Boise Catholic street evangelization effort. God sees. No prayer is wasted.
  • The local governments’ stay-at-home orders are due to expire next week. This week, we still deem it imprudent to display our Rosaries and literature. This week, we still deem it a bad example (that is, behavior that could encourage others to ignore the safety precautions altogether) to resume our inviting of public contact. Please continue to pray for us for the wisdom to discern God’s will and timing for this apostolate?
  • My concern for my fellow Catholics continues to grow. My parish offered very limited hours for the reception of one Sacrament, Reconciliation. And people stayed away in droves! Not good. My fear is that Mass attendance, once it is offered again, will suffer from the same lack of perception of its infinite value. Please continue to pray that spiritual health is restored for the Catholic Church, for individual Catholics, and for those they love?
  • In his recent “Letter on the Month of May” (Letter on the Month of May - Full text, including prayers - Vatican News) , our Holy Father urges everyone to pray the Rosary daily during May. He also asks us to add some prayers at the end, related to the suffering and other needs caused by the pandemic.
Today, we plan to pray all 20 decades of the Rosary again at our typical session time, but separately from within our own homes. Join us? And please again pray that people will perceive their need for Jesus Christ and His Holy Catholic Church, and that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s efforts.

The need our Savior is as great as always! So thank you again for your prayers and other support for this apostolate! In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and all those you love!

“The Lord also restored the prosperity of Job, after he had prayed for his friends; the Lord even gave to Job twice as much as he had before” (Job 42:10) May He also restore His Church!

Back to “the street” today! So thank you again so much for your prayers for the Boise Catholic street evangelization effort.
  • Last week’s session consisted of another intense prayer session from our separate homes. And another big thank you to those of you who joined in with us! God hears our prayers.
  • In a conversation with a Catholic woman this week, I mentioned my longing to receive the Eucharist again. (Churches have been locked down here for the last 40 days.) She replied, “Oh, I just say the Spiritual Communion prayer and that’s the same thing.” No, no, no! The Church is incarnational and “spiritual communion” is only an emergency stop-gap measure. Jesus said, “unless you eat [from the Greek meaning “munch/gnaw”] the flesh of the Son and Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you” (John 6:53). Please pray for this woman and for all those Catholics who are being led astray. Longing for the Eucharist is indeed painful, and a share in carrying the Cross, but denying Its super-substantial efficacy is deadly!
  • Certain churches in the city tentatively opened for public Mass yesterday, taking tremendous precautions to keep everything sanitized and safe. The number of spaces for Mass attendees were limited in order to keep a 6-ft distance between worshippers (or family groups of worshippers), and they anticipated having to turn people away. Sadly, a medium-sized church building had barely 3/4 of its virus-reduced capacity taken. A smaller church had, including choir, priest, and deacon, only about 30 people attending. Is this an indication of just how few Catholics are under the age of 60? Or is this an early indication of “the Great Apostasy”? Please continue to pray that the Church herself recovers from the pandemic.
And please pray for us again today? We plan to set up our signs in our usual spot and, masked and gloved, at least pray the Rosary out loud. A professional Rosary maker has generously donated to us some spectacular “chain” Rosaries, made of used and factory-second beads (not that I can tell). We plan to use those in prayer, in hopes of attracting at least some interest. Please continue to ask God to allow people to perceive their need for Our Savior and the Holy Catholic Church, and that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s efforts!

This is a time of grace, and so many souls need radical conversion and salvation! So thank you again for your ongoing prayers and other support for this apostolate. In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and all those you love!

“Go with the strength you have“ (Judg 6:14).

P.S. A special shout-out and heartfelt appreciation going out to Joanne, Fr. Tom, @Katherine438, @Katie777, Barb, Mike, and Sheila for your generous support, notes of encouragement, and prayers! May God bless you and all of you prayer warriors!

Perhaps more hostility, but the Rosary still attracts. So thank you again for praying for the Boise Catholic street evangelization effort.
  • On his way toward “our spot”, evangelist Chuck passed several skateboarders, late teens to early 20s, practicing stunts while two preteen boys watched. One of the preteens said, “Hey, you’re that guy!” (He had received a Rosary from us in the past.) Later, he and his friend skated past us, and he smiled and waved. May our presence held people remember Christ’s love and sacrifice for us all.
  • Early on, a man and his perhaps 10-year-old son passed by. He started chanting something out loud, evidently to drown out the sound of our praying the Rosary. Another person passing by turned up the volume on his boom box.
  • Foot traffic was light, so we mostly prayed the Rosary. As we began the 5th Luminous Mystery, we had our first visitors. Two homeless-looking men asked if we had spare change. We said no, and e. Lucy offered him a Rosary. He declined and started to rant about the Catholic Church. He’d pause to say he honored our efforts, but that we were wrong. He got more riled up and started yelling his conspiracy theories as his friend led him away.
  • Another man immediately stopped. He told e. Lucy he was a close relative of a royal family, and an American president had published congratulation on his birth in a major newspaper. He said he knew all about the Rosary, yet declined receiving one. May He who is the Real Presence heal his troubled soul.
  • When we reached the 5th Sorrowful Mystery, e. Chuck greeted a man passing by. Since he didn’t respond, Chuck continued leading the Rosary. The man turned and asked if e. Chuck was talking to him. When e. Chuck said no, he asked if he wanted to kiss his ring. “What?! No.” The man then angrily asked him to stay out of his business. Odd.
  • A family of six went by, declining a free Rosary. Later, they returned, the father leading them to us. They were Catholic, and were happy they attended the first Spanish-language public Mass offered since the shutdown. We gave everyone but the baby one of our new, fancy, chain Rosaries as well as two English Rosary brochures (with pictures) and one with the prayers in Spanish. They already the Pope requested everyone to pray it daily during May, and now they had the Rosaries to do so!
  • It was good to be out there again last week. Altogether, the two evangelists gave away 5 Rosaries and 3 Rosary pamphlets (2 English, 1 Spanish).
We are planning to do another stay-at-home prayer session today. Please join us in prayer? Please ask God to grant people the grace to perceive their need for Our Savior and His Holy Catholic Church, and mercifully to grant abundant good fruit for His Kingdom.

God rewards our frequent, visible, Catholic witness with peace. So thank you again for your ongoing prayers and support for this apostolate! In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and those you love!
