O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen.

Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world. x10

Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Heading out again today! So thank you for your prayers for the Boise Catholic street evangelization effort.
  • What kept us away last week? One evangelist had the good fortune to be tapped to take part in his parish’s practice run of their “drive through” mode of distribution of the Holy Eucharist, which is slated to go live today. The other evangelist found herself without a mask through which people could hear her.
  • So, we again prayed “together separately” from our homes: 20 Mysteries of the Rosary. Another big thank you to you who joined us!
  • Many governors are lifting restrictions (since people seem to be ignoring them anyway). So this pandemic may be with us for a while. Please continue to pray for its end, for healing for those wounded by it, and for salvation for us and our cultures?
Please pray for us again today? Our “table topper” shield for the Rosaries and pamphlets is not quite ready yet. So we again plan to stand (masked and gloved) between our signs, praying the Rosary out loud, and offering them to anyone willing to accept a Rosary that has been “untouched by ungloved hands”. Please ask God to grant that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s efforts?

The need for salvation continues, and so do our efforts. So thank you again for your prayers and other support for this apostolate! In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and all those you love!

“Go with the strength you have“ (Judg 6:14).

As fear recedes, some people approach to receive a Rosary and encouragement! So thank you again for your prayers for the Boise Catholic street evangelization effort.
  • A non-Catholic Christian stopped. He was surprised to hear that the Rosary was about Jesus, because he has a problem with Mary (and, in general, with asking the Saints to pray with him). He at least expressed a modicum of respect for Mary for carrying the Christ in her womb, but couldn’t see her as the model Christian. Instead, he admired Paul. He already was in the habit of studying the Bible some every day. So evangelist Lucy asked if he also stopped to meditate afterwards on what he read, asking God to show him how to apply it in his life. He said, “To be honest, no.” She then showed him in the pamphlet where to find each Mystery in the Bible, and encouraged him to spend some time every day meditating on them. He accepted the pamphlet.
  • A 20-something woman (sans mask) responded, “Yes, i do want a Rosary!” She said she was Catholic, so e. Lucy also gave her a copy of the prayers Pope Francis requested we add during the month of May.
  • A shabbily dressed man on a bicycle stopped. He chose the Rosary that e. Chuck was holding, but then said he’d give it to his girlfriend.
  • A man, the second member of a group of two people passing by on bicycles, circled back around and accepted a Rosary from us. The other half of the group, a woman, then came back and joined us, a moment or so later. They each accepted a Rosary and its booklet.
  • The two evangelists, in mask & gloves, gave away at least 4 Rosaries and the pamphlet on how to pray it, as well as an extra copy of the pamphlet. Foot traffic was light, so the evangelists also prayed aloud the first 17 Mysteries of the Rosary.
Please pray for us again today? We now have a Plexiglas table topper to protect our Rosaries and pamphlets from contamination, and we look forward to trying it out. (May God bless our benefactor!) Please pray that God will send people to us, ready to perceive their need for Our Savior and the Holy Catholic Church. Please pray that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s efforts!

The reality of Jesus Christ still needs to be heard! So thank you again for your prayers and other support for this apostolate! In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and all those you love!

Is it over? We think not, so thank you again for your prayers for the Boise Catholic street evangelization effort.
  • After a week of unusually heavy rain, we had beautiful weather for the national holiday known as “Memorial Day weekend”. The number of people out reached pre-pandemic levels. Despite government guidelines, only 3 people besides ourselves wore masks.
  • We two evangelists, masked and gloved, set up our table with Rosaries and pamphlets again, for the first time in a couple of months. We were using our newly finished “table topper” sneeze guard. It seemed to really encourage visitors.
  • Evangelist Chuck had at least 3 people grab the Rosary out of his hand as they rode by without stopping. He got faster at getting the booklet into their hands, too,
  • A 30-something man stopped. Raised Catholic, he had been away from the Church for awhile. He told us that he was feeling the tug to come back. He accepted a Rosary, its booklet, and a map to area parishes.
  • Another man accepted a Rosary and its pamphlet, saying he was raised Catholic. Every time his family took a trip in the car, they would say the Rosary in Spanish. He could still recite the Rosary in Spanish, but never understood the words. We encouraged him to study the prayer in English and to seek a parish to attend.
  • A non-Catholic Christian couple stopped. They were hesitant to accept a Rosary when they heard we were Catholic. But we showed them how the Rosary was a tool for entering into a deep meditation on the life of Christ, and they got excited. “I can’t wait to try it!” the woman kept saying as they took their leave.
  • A group of 20-something men stopped and accepted Rosaries and its pamphlet. They were in town for a job. The man from the eastern part of the country was the most enthusiastic and appreciative.
  • One man from a passing group refused receiving a Rosary by holding up a can and saying, “No thanks, I have beer.” Lord, have mercy!
  • We had such a constant stream of visitors that the two evangelists managed to pray only 1 decade of the Rosary. We gave away 15-20 Rosaries and its pamphlet (less one), and at least 1 map to area parishes.
Please pray for us again today? We’re doing another “pray together separately” session, since one team member, though asymptomatic, is under strict quarantine pending test results. We plan to pray all 20 decades of the Rosary at our usual session time. Please join us in praying that many people will perceive their need for Jesus Christ and His Holy Catholic Church, and that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of our efforts.

Wishful thinking can lead to unwise behavior. Spiritual danger has not lessened, hence the need for a continued visible Catholic presence in public. So thank you again so much for your prayers and other support for this apostolate. In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and all those you love!

Heading out again today! So thank you for your continued prayers for the Boise Catholic street evangelization effort.
  • Not quite two weeks ago, one of our team members was tested for COVID-19. The result was “negative”, praise God! But a strict 10-day self-quarantine was still required “in order to comply with CDC guidelines”. Hence, we practiced another stay-at-home session last week. Do hope you were able to pray with us!
Also, our team’s use of PPE has raised certain concerns for our own health. Evangelist Chuck presents our reasoning behind the practice.
  • Obviously, “the jury will be out” on what works and what doesn’t for some time, since virtually everything we see in the news is speculation. But perceptions are important.
  • Masks and sneeze shields and gloves are a way of knocking down barriers for people to find connections to Christ through the Rosary. If one person who desires Christ avoids the table because we have no masks or other barriers, then that is a great loss.
  • If done out of love, whether medically effective or not, then it is a small sacrifice that is worth it in my eyes. Thanks for your prayers and your love!
Please pray for us again today? Please ask God to send people to us prepared to perceive their need for Our Savior Jesus Christ and His Holy Catholic Church, and that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s efforts.

Taking the Gospel to the streets, where the Good News is so needed, we entrust our well-being to Our Lord. So thank you again for your prayers, your concern, and your other support for this apostolate. In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and all those you love!

“Go with the strength you have“ (Judg 6:14).

P.S. @Katie777: am praying that you, too, are well! The holy cards you create are both inspirational and encouraging.
