Some seeds may be sprouting! So, thank you again for your prayers for Boise’s Catholic street evangelization effort. Two evangelists were there.
  • A Catholic priest, in town for a youth retreat, was happy to see us and visited briefly. He had just finished his “daily Rosary walk”, he said. At our request, he prayed briefly for those who encounter us, and for us. Then he hurried away to an appointment.
  • A man, from a Catholic parish in the eastern part of the state, was in town for an educator’s conference. About 40 years ago, after marrying a Catholic woman, he converted to Catholicism from a non-Catholic Christian denomination He had gone through an entire year of Marriage Preparation classes. Then, a year or two later, when he decided to become Catholic, he had to go through another full year of RCIA. (And he’s still Catholic today!) We gave him a map of area parishes, so he could catch Sunday Mass. He admires a priest who serves at the cathedral, he says.
  • Repeat-visitor “Ezekiel” stopped briefly. He again felt blessed for being alive another day. He asked for a Rosary this time, having given his other one away. He again smelled strongly of alcohol. Please continue to pray for him?
  • A teenage skateboarder passed us just slowly enough to hear our offer of a free Rosary. She grabbed the one out of evangelist Chuck’s hand, but zoomed away quicker than he could offer her the pamphlet. She joined her two male skateboarding companions in circling around the center of the business park. When her circles brought her close enough again, Chuck offered her the pamphlet, which she accepted.
  • A man and his wife (?) stopped by. He was Catholic but, “new to the area”, he hadn’t yet attended Mass. We gave him the list of parishes and Sunday Mass times. He chose a Rosary, but said he didn’t need the pamphlet. The woman took a Rosary and its pamphlet.
  • A couple were walking by, accompanied by a boy who was perhaps 8-10 years old. The parents declined receiving a Rosary, but the boy wanted one. They let him approach the table, and stood watching. The boy knew who Christ was, but nothing about the Rosary. So, evangelist Chuck gave him a quick explanation and a Rosary pamphlet. He encouraged the boy to use the Rosary to get closer to Jesus, and also to pray it with his parents.
  • “Mr. Steel-Crew-Cut” strode past again. When evangelist Chuck asked how he was doing, he spoke to us for the first time ever. He said, “Much better. I’m back on my feet again.” Thank you for your prayers!
  • The weather was rainy, and foot traffic was very light. During the lulls between visitors the two evangelists prayed the entire set of Luminous Mysteries. Between 5 and 10 Rosaries found a new home, as well as 1-2 maps.
Please pray for us again today? Ask God to send people to us prepared to perceive their need for Our Savior Jesus Christ and the Holy Catholic Church, and that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s efforts!

We all need a Savior! So thank you again for your prayers for Boise’s Catholic street evangelization effort. Two evangelists were available.
  • “Manny”, our visitor from a couple of months ago, encountered evangelist Chuck at his parish. After exchanging a “You look familiar. Do I know you?” look with each other, Chuck suddenly remembered his name and story: Manny had grown up with practitioners of the occult and was deeply embedded in that philosophy. He now wanted out, he’d told us. But, Chuck said, he was still trying to use witchcraft to break free of witchcraft. Please continue to pray for Manny, that he recognize that only Our Savior, Jesus Christ, can set him free!
  • A Catholic man and woman stopped. He attends Mass at a nearby parish, and already has Rosaries. When evangelist Lucy asked him to “pray it once for us”, he countered with, “Yes. And I’ll pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy.” The woman smiled and nodded. I glanced at the clock, 15 minutes until the Hour of Mercy.
  • “Ol’ Walt” stopped and talked for a full half-hour with evangelist Chuck, repeating the same stories more than once. A judge had released Walt’s assailant, and Walt was very angry. Evangelist Chuck told him that we’re praying or him. Please continue to ask especially that Walt be granted the ability to forgive?
  • A down-and-out family stopped. The mom lives at a nearby battered women’s shelter. She and the two young girls with her each accepted a Rosary. The mom also accepted the Rosary pamphlet. The man with them, pushing the stroller, said nothing.
  • Two women stopped. Claiming to be already familiar with the Rosary, they each chose one. One woman then looked with interest at our pamphlets. She accepted copies of “Praying to Saints”, “What about Mary?”, and "Marian Doctrines.
  • The two evangelists gave away 15-20 Rosaries and accompanying pamphlet, 1 each of the FAQ pamphlets: “Praying to the Saints”, “What About Mary?”, and “Marian Doctrines”, and a copy each of a “Jesus Knocking” bookmark and a “Divine Mercy” bookmark.
Please pray for us again today, asking God to prepare people’s hearts to perceive their need for Jesus Christ and His Holy Catholic Church, and that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s efforts.

We continue our effort to reach souls, so thank you again for your prayers for the Boise Catholic street evangelization effort. Two evangelists were available.
  • A Catholic man, accompanied by perhaps wife and mother, stopped to accept a Rosary. They are not currently attending Mass, so we gave them the list of area parishes and encouraged them to get back to the Eucharist.
  • “Monica” recognized one of us as a reader at daily Mass. She told us she had lots of Rosaries. But, when evangelist Lucy asked her to bring some to us, she said she often has groups of people come to her house, and she gives them out to them! May God bless her apostolate!
  • Two young men stopped. In their late teens, they attend an upscale charter school in the area. One accepted a Rosary, saying he knew what it was. The other teen did not want anything. Evangelist Chuck spoke with the teen who took the Rosary. He had been raised Catholic by his mom and grandma, but was reluctant to talk about where his faith was now. He did say he’d try praying the Rosary.
  • A short time later they came back to the table, accompanied by a third teen, who wanted a Rosary but seemed to lack respect for it. He chose a black one. It didn’t fit over his Absolom-like hairstyle, so he propped it on top, the Cross dangling near his left eye. He listened with impatience to a brief explanation of the devotion, and the encouragement to “sit down and try it.” Blessed Mother, please take care of them all?
  • A homeless-looking man went by. He said “no, thank you” to the offer of a free Rosary. When evangelist Chuck then said, “God bless you!”, he replied, “Please don’t say that!” Lord, have mercy!
  • A family group went by. One woman dropped back to accept a free Rosary.
  • At least a half dozen people told us they already had a Rosary they had gotten from us. We asked them to pray it once for us.
  • One 20-something man accepted a Rosary and its pamphlet from us. He did not know anything specific about the Rosary, saying he was a non-Catholic Christian. But he was curious about Catholicism, and wanted to attend Mass at some point. He declined our list of area parishes, saying he lived on campus and would just attend Mass there. Evangelist Lucy gave him the Sunday Mass time for that evening.
  • A group of 2-3 young adults stopped. One wanted a Rosary because his grandmother valued it. We encouraged him to try praying it.
  • Although the weather was nice and many people were out, we had relatively few visitors. Please pray that nothing is interfering with the path of the people whom God wants to encounter us?
  • Altogether, the two evangelists gave away 10-12 Rosaries and its pamphlet, as well as perhaps a map of area parishes.
Please pray for us again today? Ask God to send people to us prepared to perceive their need for Our Savior and His Holy Catholic Church, and that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s efforts.
