O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen.

Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world. x10

Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Visibly Catholic, we hope to draw others closer to God through His Church. So thank you again for your prayers for Boise’s Catholic street evangelization effort. Two evangelists were there last week.
  • Although it rained steadily, there was steady foot traffic during the session. A remodeling show was going on in the convention center.
  • One convention exhibitor attends Mass with a community of questionable canonical standing. Evangelist Lucy told her of a local parish and its emphasis on growth in personal holiness. She invited our visitor to attend Mass there. In the end, the woman accepted one of our “mission Rosaries”, since she didn’t have one with her.
  • Our previous visitor was “Alicia”. Although raised Christian, she had walked away from religion “a long time ago”. But, now that she has a 4-year-old daughter, maybe she “should look into it”. She accepted Rosary, pamphlet, and kerygma.
  • A man, accompanying 3 boys (ages about 3-8), stopped. Each boy chose a Rosary. The two older ones accepted its pamphlet as well.
  • While evangelist Lucy was finishing up with the dad and sons, a man and woman in their mid-20s approached (“Anna” and companion). Already Catholic, Anna was thrilled to see Rosaries displayed in public. He, also Catholic, is from a neighboring state, Asked if he had connected with a local parish for Mass this weekend, he assured us he had attended Mass the previous night (in anticipation of Sunday). He accepted a Rosary and brochure for someone he knew.
  • “Walt” stopped and told evangelist Chuck his (unorthodox) theory of what made Adam fall. Offered a Bible, he declined because it was not his preferred translation.
  • A college-aged couple stopped, he is a non-Catholic Christian and she was “mostly Catholic”. They were attending different churches together (“church surfing”, he called it). But each took a Rosary and pamphlet, as well as a map of area parishes.
  • A father with two young sons stopped, he did not know much about the Rosary but was attentive to our description of it and its benefits. All three took a Rosary; the father took the pamphlet.
  • A woman came out of the convention, a believer but not Catholic. When evangelist Lucy assured her the Rosary was for all Christians and focused on Christ. she decided to take one.
  • A woman (late teens or early 20s) told us she had received a Rosary from us before, and hung it from her rear view mirror. Evangelist Lucy encouraged her to take one to use for prayer, and she did.
  • Altogether, the two evangelists gave away 15-20 Rosaries. as well as a few copies of the kerygma and maps to area parishes.
Please pray for us again today? Please ask God to send people to us prepared to perceive their need for Jesus Christ and His Holy Catholic Church, and that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s efforts.

What’s more recognizably Catholic (or misunderstood) than the Rosary? We calm fears and encourage prayer. So thank you again for your prayers, encouragement, and other support for this apostolate. In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and those you love!

With God, all is indeed possible, even softened hearts! So thank you again for your prayers for Boise’s Catholic street evangelization effort. One evangelist was there.
  • The Feast of the Purification (Candlemas) occurred on an almost-a-national-holiday in the US, when a national playoff game is televised. Foot traffic was light, and the weather gray and damp, with light snow blowing in changing directions.
  • At one point, a row of pamphlets blew off my table. About 6-7 young people rushed out of nowhere to chase them down and help pick them up. All but 3 were gone again before I could say, “Thank you. Do you want a free Rosary?” The last 3 declined.
  • Also, quite a few people, young and older, were staring intensely at their phones as they walked around. Several, when asked if they were playing a (formerly popular and somewhat harmless) video game, answered no, but were otherwise evasive. God save them!
  • The tall man, with sharply chiseled facial features and thick steel-gray crew cut, went by again. Usually, if he responds to us at all, it is with tension, a frown, and a sharp no. This time, he smiled and waved when he saw me. (See? God does soften hearts!)
  • A man, who had come into the Church about two years ago, stopped. He chose a Rosary but declined its pamphlet, already familiar with the Mysteries. Then, when I pointed out that the pamphlet shows where in the Bible to find each Mystery, and how that encourages non-Catholic Christians to pray the Rosary, he accepted the pamphlet as well.
  • My second visitor was “Michael”, a housing-challenged man. He was happy to receive a free Rosary, and asked for one for his girlfriend as well. Although his life was in a shambles, he declared that everything would be alright, now that he had a girlfriend. I encouraged them to pray the Rosary together, and also to embrace chastity. God, please bless and heal them?
  • One male visitor wanted a yellow Rosary, just not the one with big, hot-pink Our Father beads. I dug in my bag and found one with plain, white ones. He happily accepted.
  • Another man wanted a black Rosary that fit over his head. I again dug into my bag and, after some false starts, found one for him.
  • My last visitor, a nicely dressed man with red facial hair, took out his ear phones so he could hear my offer of a free Rosary. He seemed to surprise himself by accepting. Asked if he was Christian, he said no, but he was “interested in other cultures.” Besides the Rosary and a copy of the one-page kerygma, he accepted a Catechism. Lord, please bring him all the home to You!
  • Altogether, I gave away 5-10 Rosaries. 1 copy of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, at least 1 kerygma, and maybe a map of area parishes.
Please pray for us again today? Ask God to send people to us who perceive their need for Jesus Christ and His Holy Catholic Church, and that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s effort.

Jesus draws all men to Himself, even today! So thank you again for your prayers and other support for this apostolate. In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and all those you love!

Jesus is Light in the darkness! So thank you again for praying for the Boise Catholic street evangelization effort. Two evangelists were there.
  • “Ezekiel”, a repeat visitor who struggles with sobriety, visited. He talked of his love for the Bible, gratitude for surviving another night, and his dreams that assure him of God’s love. He still has the Rosary he received from us before, but he accepted a copy of the Pocket Gospels & Acts.
  • Several groups, mostly women, when asked if they wanted a free Rosary, responded with, “No. We love Jesus!” We responded, “Amen! So do we!” None of them slowed down long enough to exchange any more words.
  • A mom, denied primary custody of her two children, asked for Rosaries for herself and them. She was on her way to see them, she said. We encouraged her to teach them the Rosary and pray it together with them regularly.
  • “Walt” stopped to talk with evangelist Chuck. Walt said the police had found about a third of his stolen belongings, including his medication and his model cars. Thank you for your prayers!
  • A man and woman stopped, but only she came to the table. She was not familiar with the Rosary, but was Catholic, though inactive. She took a Rosary, its pamphlet, and a map to area parishes.
  • Two men, mid- to late-20s, stopped. One of them wanted a Rosary, since he had been raised Catholic. Besides the Rosary and its pamphlet, he also accepted a map of local parishes.
  • Two Catholic students, in town to check out the local university, stopped. Besides Rosaries and pamphlet, they accepted a map of area parishes. Evangelist Lucy also invited them to attend Mass that evening at the Newman Center near the university campus.
  • Two teenage boys passed on skateboards. One of them, who had stopped many times before, pulled his Rosary out from under his sweatshirt to show us. Later, his friend came to the table. Asked if he was Christian, he shrugged and said his mom said he was. He accepted a Rosary, its pamphlet. and short explanation of the devotion.
  • More teenage skaters stopped. One asked what the difference was between the Catholic Church and everyone else. Evangelist Chuck mentioned a few differences in theology. The boy then said he belonged to a look-alike non-Catholic-Christian church. So, evangelist Chuck emphasized the Real Presence in the Catholic Eucharist. Our visitor wished the churches were all united, and we heartily agreed. He and his companions each took a Rosary and the pamphlet on how to pray it.
  • The two evangelists gave away 15 or so Rosaries, a few maps of area parishes, and 1 pocket-sized copy of the Gospels and Acts of the Apostles.
Please pray for us again today? Ask God to send people to us who perceive their need for Jesus Christ and His Holy Catholic Church, and that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s effort.

Jesus Christ is the Light, and we try to be His instruments. So thank you again for your prayers and other support for this apostolate. In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and all those you love!
