To try to make a rather long story short:
I am a 24 y/o man who is more than likely going to become a priest, of what sort I am currently discerning. In a moment of doubt over the summer I returned to a Catholic dating site I’d been at and met a girl in the same situation I was, with whom I hit it off better than anyone I’ve ever met, on a personal and most importantly very deep spiritual level. This very beautifully immediately pushed us both back towards our vocations to the priesthood and the cloistered contemplative sisterhood.
We developed a very special, pure, and spiritual friendship, and she became my spiritual support, something I was gravely lacking. I believed perhaps God had sent her (in part) to be this for me for the year until I entered seminary, about which time she’d be locking herself away with Jesus (something I am extremely filled with joy about :heaven: ) However, after her final retreat to decide whether or not to enter a particular community, the decision (which I anticipated) was made that she not talk to me any more, in order to do what was thought to be best (based on conversations with Mother and past life experiences). We are supposed to resume contact at her entrance, at which point I can visit, write, etc. She really doesn’t want this either in any way other than thinking it was what God Willed.
Now I am left with no spiritual support and a lot of lonliness, due to the fact that 1) other friends of mine can pull me down a lot and I want to avoid that, 2) I saw in her exactly what a person in my position really needs in terms of someone on the same page with God as I, and so now being without it makes me realize how, basically, holy I can be with that, and so where I am now is completely unacceptable, and 3) I really don’t have any close friends to speak of even aside from the faith (and at this point certainly don’t think someone without faith could be a close friend). So I need that.
I have also gotten the indication after 2 weeks of intensive Eucharistic prayer that not talking to my friend may not be God’s Will, and another sister who belongs to the same order as I has suggested the same. I was led to write her a letter explaining all this, which I did in front of Jesus over several days, and which I am now struggling to decide whether to mail or not. I want my decision simply to reflect what God Wills that I do.
I also have no job right now. I have about a month to find one. My problem is that I really am looking for something with the faith in it. Another long story, but basically I believe God is calling me somewhere that is not so worldly, but that has a focus on Him. I just don’t know where.
And lastly my living situation is not well. I am with my family in a very noisy home that is constantly in strife and full of negative emotions. I feel my soul choking for air whenever I am there. I think I need to find a much better place, preferably with a Catholic
.
Sorry to make such a long list, but I wasn’t quite sure how to ask for the prayers I needed without doing so! So, that’s it. And oh, by the way, its possible all my thoughts on all of this are totally off. So pray I don’t get caught up in myself rather than going with God’s Way.
Feel free to PM me if you’ve got any advice, btw. God bless, thank you!
