What if Christ said we are united and He is happy with the way things are now?
And why do you think Christ would say this?

So you are rationalizing disunity…![]()
Since Jesus prayed for unity, I don’t believe he is happy with us being divided and disagreeing. What if Christ said we are united and He is happy with the way things are now?
.
I agree with your pastor that it is a privilege to be Catholic.I will probably convey this thought on similarly running threads…
I remember John Paul II stating so many years ago…that our sense of communion and unity will not be perfect as we hope…that there will be other faith traditions present among us that we must settle with.
Likewise I also remember my former pastor now with the Lord…seeing how so many in dialogue still cannot grasp the need for Catholic sense of unity…stated that we must begin to see that our faith in the hierarchy of our Church and our belief in the Eucharist…when so many Christ centered and wonderful Christians don’t, that such a value for communion as we understand it…is a privilege…so we must also become more humble with our separated brethren and accept their differences, and likewise hold them in good faith.
That lack of reason, in a cloud of unknowing, is the ultimate rejection of Christ as He was crystal clear: “if he refuses to hear even the Church let him be like the heathen and a publican.” (Mt 18:17).Aidanbradypop #
If unity is everyone is Roman Catholic and under the Pope then yes I am not for unity.
Rather snarky don’t you think? What if Christ said we are united and He is happy with the way things are now?
Before the Reformation the Catholic church kept a lot of people in it by the sword and the fire. Do you want a return to THAT? As soon as they could they got out. There was not a whole lot of unity, now we are more honest about it.
Do you really believe that Christ is happy that His Church, which he founded Himself, is fractured like it is?What if Christ said we are united and He is happy with the way things are now?

I would say that he is more than welcome to have the stance that he does just as you and I.
Honestly? I could care less. As I stated earlier, that is his opinion. I do not celebrate Reformation Sunday. I have never really cared to do so. I know some that do.But do you agree with what he said
Then it sounds like you are where you need to be friend. If it can prove to be of apostolic origin, trace a line to the apostles…have the four marks of the Church…and had been in communion with the see of Peter…then why not?
The body of believers that have put their trust and faith Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of their sins so that they may defeat death and serve God in Heaven for eternity. So what is your proof for the one true church?
True and we are united in our faith in who Jesus is and His purpose for taking on flesh. No one can deny Jesus wanted his followers to be united
Is that enough?True and we are united in our faith in who Jesus is and His purpose for taking on flesh.
IMO, yes it is.Is that enough?
Now I can understand how 7 extra books can be so irrelevant. Seems like the bible could have been just a simple one page document stating “Jesus is God”.IMO, yes it is.
Peace to you as wellNow I can understand how 7 extra books can be so irrelevant. Seems like the bible could have been just a simple one page document stating “Jesus is God”.
