For the "scientists" here who believe in evolution: what will we evolve into next?

“If we evolved from apes and monkeys…how come we still have apes and monkeys?”

Good ol’ George, that noted biologist!

Tom of Assisi:
Science teaches that the evolution of populations **never stops **(except for extinction)…so in another few million years how many species of post-humans will there be? and what will they be like?
This is a false statement for three reasons.
  1. Evolution is a theory, it is not a proven law.
  2. Some scientists believe (as I stated earlier in this thread) that when a speices reaches a certain level of intelligence that evolution stops
  3. Some scientists believe as Carl Sagan states in Dragons of Eden (as BibleReader pointed out) regardless that you think of him as a “pig”.

(Gene mutation said linked to evolution???0

(March 24,004.)

By:Joseph B Verrengia Associated press science writer.

Igniting a scientific furor, dcientist say that they may have found the genetic mutation that first seperated the earliest humans from there ape like ancestors.

Actually, there’s no more time for real evolution. The end time signs are starting to occur.

And just what are the end times???

The end of catholesicm, the end of christianity, the end of human life, the end of the earth, the end of the universe,or just plain old biblical folklaw???

And who but the christian is to say that evolution is not a gift from God dedecated to the development of his universe as well as his humanity???

And here I was going to try to be serious and I end up under a post like the upside down flower pot.
As for evolution being “just a theory,” that gets tiresome after a while. “Atomic Theory,” which asserts that all matter is made up of atoms is still “just a theory,” even though it’s been accepted as fact for years.
To be a law, there must be math applied, i.e. The law of gravity.

As for evolution, whether Darwinian or guided (to which I’ve always subscribed, even before it was defined), it has stopped for humans. For evolution to occur, there must be pressure, some advantage conferred by a trait, and a small population in which the expression of an advantageous mutation would be spread.
There are way too many of us and there is no pressure to evolve.

Also, there will always be harmful genes in a population if they are harmfull only in the homozygous recessive state (from both parents ands not expressed if only from one.)

No, we’re where God wants us. We just have to accept that sad fact and do the best we can.

Is it not possible that we are not true evolving and that iff we do not self distruct (Quite likely) we would look quite different some
time in the future???

As a geologist and a Catholic, I feel certain that if evolution of any kind occurs, the process was created by God. He is in control.

Sagan is indeed a pig–one who is roasting in hell about now–you might call him a stuffed pig.

He does not understand evolutionary theory in this regard correctly. It makes no sense for evolutionary processes to just stop. Why does all evolution in humans have to depend on hip size? That is very weak reasoning and surely evolution is smart enough to fin a way around piggy’s objections.

if one feels evolution is God’s way of “developing” humanity then the question becomes how will we continue to be developed by God in the future?

Evolution works on its own. Some Christians throw God into the “process” as a way of reconciling their faith with what the secular world tells them about the origins of the world and us. Go figure…my bets are still on me by the way

That is simply not correct. What book on evolutionary theory published in the last ten years are you citing? Leave Sagan out–he was not an evolutionary biologist at all…just an liberal socialist pig.

Evolution does not just stop, and there is no reason to think it has for humans unless you are bending science to fit your theology…something the Catholic evolutionists here seem to think is a very bad thing 😛

although there were those visionaries that predicted that in the 1980s computers would be 10 times bigger, twice as fast, and so expensive that only the 5 richest kings of Europe would be able to afford them!

Evolution?

During these times of so many revolutions occurring around the world…well…I’d be mightly surprised evolution has much of a chance. But then again, the Power of God goes deep.

Tom of Assisi: Evolution DOES stop if the pressures no longer exist. That’s the whole basis for Darwinian theory in the first place. When humans eliminate the pressures through technology, then we no long have to physically evolve.

I believe that religian has done more to hinder human deveopment than anything in human history.

I believe the Word of God has something to say about all of this:

“Beloved, we are God’s children now; what we will be has not yet been revealed.”
