The problem is that it happens at all! Certainly, any man who commits this crime against any child or in many cases, to many children, MUST be arrested and face the utmost penalty of our laws, for these crimes…lets stick to the sexual abuse of children and our churches…we know now that this type of Pedist is NOT able to be rehabbed…there are numerous studies which prove these patterns, upon release from prison…short of voluntary castration by religious mentors (cut it out if it offends GOD) or at the very least, defrocking and retirement somewhere where they have no access to young innocents…something has to give!

It was and is, a huge mistake to move these men around to other churches, bury their crimes under any carpet and pooh pooh the facts that they are Criminals, period.

Should they know who they are, whether they have raped, or sexually abused boys and or girls, in any way…it is now up to the Churches, to change their inner policies and join the rest of the world and humanity…!

The rest of the world is very sick and the Church is a hospital for the sick. Some of the doctors are even sick, sad to say.

I don’t think that everyone in the nonCatholic world is sick.

Robby…I feel your passion about sodomy, in general…what in the world do you believe you can accomplish by ranting about any sodomy practices, when this is something men have done for thousands of years?! What grown men with other grown men do within their relationship does not concern ME! They will do it because they have done it and will continue to do it, no matter what! This is between them and they will be judged by GOD, accordingly…but when this vile act is perpetuated against an innocent child of GOD…well I do have a problem quietly accepting this without feeling anything!..I want every priestly violator of these children to go to jail, where they belong! They are criminals, all of them. Whatever you do, do not lose sight of this problem by including issues of civic sodomy laws, homosexuality practices and the prostitution of young girls in another country. Don’t get me wrong…these are also important issues, but they have no basis within the problem the Churches are facing, regarding THEIR SEXUAL CHILD ABUSES…of Church children, entrusted to GOD…

Ever wonder why there were sodomy law on the books if as you say,it is between the partners and that the judgment should be left to them? Indeed, why laws against prostitution? Why laws against indecency in general, if the persons involved are not offended? So I don’t buy your argument that these people are not doing harm. Sexual activity always has a powerful effect on society. Beyond that

If the aim is to purge the priesthood of the offended, we must take care that that is no rush to judgement. Otherwise, the truly guilty will just burrow in deeper and take note how to cover the tracks better. This is a bit like trying to eliminate violence by banning weapons.
